Silent_Kitten_of_Purring
This is a game that I found on a japanese student forum. It's called ushiro something... Anyway, it adds to your vocabulary and it's fun! Here's how to play.
Someone starts off with a japanese word. (For example 'Megami'-goddess) The next person will take the last syllable in the word and write another japanese word that begins with it. (after Megami, 'Midori'-green, after midori, 'ringo'-apple)
Try to stay away from words ending with RU there arent that many
words starting with RU
Try to repeat words as little as possible. Put the meaning of the word after it. No cheating by using a japanese/english dictionary!
I'll start.
Arigato-thank you
TO is next
Our wonderful poster accidently forgot one rule. If you post a word that ends in 'n' then you lose the game. This is because there are no japanese words that being with 'n' . If it is a na, ne, nu, ne, or no then it is fair game.
a, i, u, e, o can start and finish words. 'n' cant. So no tabu
n (means maybe), no shogun, no Rurouni Kenshin...
Japanese is a syllabic structured language.
