Although she existed within a realm which she could not see, her human sage chakra allowed her to sense the goddess' presence. It was for that reason she was distracted while Haji and Obei spoke to her. Selina sprung to life, however, as her dear friend Kameyo approached. Her surprise was matched only by her smile as Kameyo seemed only around to hand something to her other dearest friend, Obei. "Kameyo! Would you like to join Haji, Obei, and I to get some... barbecue?" She said, unaware of the awkward situation her letter was either going to create or dismantle, as the last word was spoken much softer than the words which followed. This was because despite knowing what the food was, she never had it personally. Selina's mother never cooked it when she was growing up because it was too messy, and even when she was an adult her pop idol diet prohibited her from having anything so indulgent. Despite this, she was thrilled at the prospect of going out with friends both old and new. Plus, she hoped to allow Haji some moments to rekindle whatever flame he holds for Obei. Selina was always a sucker for a good romance, as long as it didn't involve her personally.

A content oni was a good natured one. Obei gently adjusted the pink colored headband on her right arm, having been placed there ever since Selina had brought her in that long time ago. She hands traced across the surface while feeling a bit more calm. While they didn't exactly come out fully perfect, it was a step in the right direction. It came to a pause when Kameyo had approached with a box and a letter entailed. Of course, Obei looked down upon hearing her name and stared at the smaller woman. One who would probably have experience housing an axolotl or two. "Obei, yes." she said. Her large, semi ice chakra crackled hands would take the box and letter from her. Yet her eyes looked to the letter itself. opened and clearly read. She shot Kameyo a look. One she might have done so before in Kogarashi. Silence rang between them before Obei reached out to pat her on the head.
"Thank you. Do not do this again."
Maybe it was a warning, maybe not~ She took the letter out and gave it a read. Hajime had put together a small box of goods for her, including his blue colored headband and a generous amount of ryo for a house or something here. Obei was truly touched, a stirring in her heart making her feel all...choked up? She felt awful for accepting such a gift, even at the line at the bottom. Haji had clearly loved her but she didn't feel the same way towards him. Should she try and force these feelings just for this display? The oni felt divided at what kind of thing she could do with this. With her cheeks puffed up, she looked at Selina and Kameyo at her invitation to invite her along. Obei's first instinct was to correct such an invitation but burying her into the ground, but if Selina truly wanted her there, she would put up with the girl.

When he asked about the corruption Kenshin immediately clenched his teeth and tensed up again. He felt immensely responsible for not identifying the corruption in his own department and as a result needed to confront the subject with all of his might. "They were attempting to arrest Avalanche and Kaito in the markets. I assembled a squad and tracked them here and managed to stop them from harming Avalanche who they had taken hostage. The leader escaped using some sort of wormhole and I'm going to get to the bottom of this." With that, Kenshin began walking out of the temple without prompt. Assuming that Kojiro followed beside him he would continue their conversation. "We're going to CORE to open an internal investigation. Corruption is a tumor that spreads widely. Even if you rip it out some may still remain." He walked down the steps before seeing Kameyo, Selina, Obei, and Hajime in a group. Kenshin's loud steps would announce his arrival. Sharp white eyes glanced at Kameyo as he came to a stop with Kojiro in lockstep most likely. "Surprising to see you out of the Spire in the dirt with the rest of us, Lady Kameyo. Kameyo's light-hearted exchange with the other two ladies was interrupted as a chill ran down her spine. That chill was a portent - one that warned her of the arrival of the one and only, the sole embodiment of her contempt for village structure: excessive rule and structure.
"Kenshin," she greeted between gritted teeth, her tone mangling Kenshin's name into some sort of swear word in a league all its own. "I've been in the dirt since you were lining up down the block to suck your mother's teat along with the rest of the neighborhood. If you ever used those eyes for something other than micromanaging, you might have noticed." Despite the cruel words, it was simultaneously hard for Kameyo to deny that she didn't enjoy their fighting like cats and dogs - in a purely verbal plane, as neither of them were willing to lower themselves to the other by fighting physically - because she never got to throw around insults in the village anymore. Everyone was too damn civil. Who'd she have to assault to get a good bar fight around here?

Sitting outside of the cavern leading into the monsoon temples with a fairly large box in his lap, Soraru waited for others to show up for the task appointed by the Arashikage himself. He was writing inscriptions into a white seal on the box, trying to complete the basic fuuin to have the weapons stored within properly. For all his talent with weapons, he was pretty bad when it came to anything regarding seals. Improvement was slow and arduous, but he did what needed to be done.
"Ahhh...I hope someone shows up soon. Pretty sure things will get messy if I try handling this on my own." He muttered to himself, finishing another inscription. A hundred blades total, all stored within in some way or another. Ideally he wouldn't have to make use of those blades, but followers of jashinism usually didn't try to hard to fight back against the stigma's placed against them. To be fair, it was quite hard to debate positive intentions when Jashin required no less than utter destruction. If things went from bad to worse, he'd have his armor to protect him from the death possession technique. While he didn't know all the intricacies of that art, he knew that having his blood taken was bad news. Then again...if the report about the jashinists was true and they were only killing animals, it'd certainly put him much more at ease.

As though appearing from nothing, three masked figures approached Soraru; all three clad in special-ops gear. One was clad in a reptilian mask, one in a bird mask, and the third in a feline mask. The three of them stood in silence, eyeing Soraru with intent. They carried with them an ominous air of mystery... at least, they would have if Sobek could keep his mouth shut.
"Dudes, see? I told you, we look bad-a** when we do that." The bird-masked agent slumped his shoulders forward, letting a sigh break his professional demeanor. "God, you are such an idiot,""Whatever, kiss-a**." The shorter cat-masked figure would shake her head. "Hey, if you girls are done kissing, we have a job to do. Look sharp!" The woman approached Soraru, "I'm to assume you're our backup on the mission? Good. You can call me Bastet, these two are agents Sobek and Thoth," she said, gesturing to her squadmates. "Why did you introduce him first?" Thoth mumbled. "What the hell? Are you jealous of that?" Sobek responded."No, I just think it's important that--""Will you to stop with the filler talk?" Bastet shouted. Turning to Soraru, she'd give her temples a quick rub before getting back to business. "Anything to report?"
It was hard to not look amused when faced with the trio of...ANBU? They looked like ANBU but weren't like any he'd met before. It was a welcome change to the brooding silent stereotypes that were so common. When asked whether or not he had anything to report, he looked around before speaking. "Other than pointing out that this place is freezing during the winter, not really. Nobody has moved in or out of that entrance since I got here around twenty minutes ago. Also, cut Sobek some slack. That entrance was pretty bad-a**." He smiled towards the end of his report, his tone kept low enough for them to hear him without his words traveling out into the empty caverns. It wasn't particularly necessary though, because anyone standing guard nearby probably would have heard the shouting ANBU operatives without much trouble.
"Thoth, Bastet, and Sobek. Cool names. Unique." He stated, knowing to put Thoth's name first to avoid their ire. He got up from his spot on the floor with the rope tied to the large box in his right hand. Regardless of their ability to pick up on someone's sleight of hand, it likely would have been an interesting sight to watch that box shrink down into almost nothing as he placed it into the opening of a quiver on his back. The Uzumaki mask resembling a simplistic wolf design was moved from the side of his head to on his face. The shine would give away that it was made of glass. If either of them had experience in sensory they'd detect a separate living creature inside of the mask. "I don't think it's as impressive but I'll go by Raiju. Are you waiting on anyone or are we ready to go?"

"My my, if it isn't the Arashigakuran authorities. I'm afraid you'll find nothing of note here." A man clad in black with a sinister-looking demeanor to him appeared behind the group of four. The pentacle of Jashin across his neck. "I can only assume you're here to 'monitor' our sermons? Bear in mind that the monsoon temples are a place free of religious persecution. We've committed no crimes that would qualify for such 'monitoring', and despite your Arashikage's distaste for our beliefs I ensure you that your suspicion is unwarranted if not prejudice." The man would then proceed down the set of stairs towards the carved out temple bearing the symbol of Jashin. A new installment judging by the cuts in the stone. As he walked down the steps he spoke with his voice being carried by the wind to the group. "and whether he likes it or not, should our influence continue down its steady path he will have no choice to acknowledge Jashinism as his village's religion and appoint our lady as the Arch-bishop." The man would chuckle sounding so sure of himself. His cockiness was apparent in every word he spoke.
If anything, if what the man said was true, in order to dissolve the sudden church of Jashin they would need to find evidence of a criminal nature. Yet, the man so confidently spoke that there was nothing of the sort and if that truly was the case there was ultimately nothing Soraru, Shion or anyone could due as the cult functioned under the license of the law and freedom of religious persecution. Before reaching the end of the staircase he'd turn around arms wide in welcome. "You're welcome to join our sermon. His lordship accepts all into his fold so long as they are capable of drawing blood." He'd smile welcomingly yet the smile in of itself could easily be discerned as one of falsehoods. After all, who would want 'cops' watching them consistently criminal or not. The man would shortly enter the temple as green flames lit on the entrance's braziers.
Should they follow, the insides of the temple was fairly simple yet there were several robe-clad individuals. Many were young, some were old. The floor was one large symbol to Jashin and a light with dark red stained glass would cast its blood-red rays through the building flooding it. Honestly, the atmosphere was quite the opposite of what would be typically assumed of such a cult. It was actually rather light. Individuals talking to each other like friends or neighbors. Until the man took to the podium and spread his arms wide. More Braziers lit. "Jashin bless your blood, for we are one family!" JASHIN BLESS OUR BLOOD! Every individual would say simultaneously in hymn. "Let us not forget to welcome those in the family! Be they new? Be they old? It does not matter we are all bound by his blood." Every member would then turn to their neighbor and those that were closest to them they would all then shake hands pleasantly with one another each of them exchanging. "Blood be with you" "and also with you". "Let us pay our tithe." The man who could now be assumed to be the 'priest' of the cult would clap his hands together and close his eyes in prayer as he removed a small metal javelin from his clothing. It looked like a senbon to some degree. The podium itself could then be discerned as essentially a sort of altar with a bowl like shape. The priest would p***k his finger and then bleed somewhat on the altar. Those in attendence would form a line and each engage in this process.

Sobek chuckled, turning to Bastet, "C'mon, you heard the new guy. We looked awesome!""I swear, Sobek, I'm going to-" Bastet would find herself caught off guard by the approach of a foreign figure. His manner of dress, speaking, generally everything about him... it rubbed her the wrong way. This must be the guy. "Thoth! You were supposed to be keeping watch!" Sobek stifled his laughing long enough to get one in on his teammate. "Yeah, dude, nice job." Thoth glared at Sobek from behind the mask. "I was. And all I saw was you making an a** of yourself."
While the married couple bickered, Bastet approached the stranger. "We've all seen what happens when your faith gets out of hand. Call it what you will, but we will be doing an investigation into your activities." She'd follow along with the priest, but would signal to her team to go about their plan. Sobek would begin patrolling the perimeter, scanning for any outside presence, while Thoth would begin performing a series of sensory techniques to track any unseen activities. Before she followed the priest, Bastet would whisper to Soraru, "Proceed as you see fit, but do not engage without backup, and only as a last resort."
If there was anything from the black-clad jashinist that drew his attention, it was the words: "appoint our lady as the Archi-bishop."
Naturally, when Soraru picked up the mission on the Monsoon temples from the notice board he also looked into the bounty that was posted. The associated crimes were enough to warrant capture, and there was most likely a connection involving her with the recent upsurge in Jashinism. If that was the case, however, capturing her out in the open would make her a martyr regardless of how things went. It was best to look into other ways to investigate potential shady dealings involving the growing cult. The shady man finally finished speaking and Soraru took the time to listen to Bastet as well. "We should regroup at some point. Compile information before going too far forward." He responded, content to split up their party for the sake of gathering info.
While Bastet followed the priest into the temple, Soraru took the time to quickly examine the building on all its sides for signs of graffiti, blood, or other suspicious activity. Everything was probably going to be locked down tight on the inside so there was possibly a fault when it came to the exterior. Even if he found nothing, it was always worth it to check for potential traps if they found themselves outnumbered. If he found anything that took up his attention for too long he could always send a clone into the temple with Bastet or have it look into the situation in front of him. He just hoped that she wasn't alone in there with nothing but danger on all sides.

[Two-fer-one] Once per post, the user may use a single D-Rank or lower technique involving small weapons without paying the cost. This still requires the activation to be utilized. [Blade's Edge] The user has learned to utilize projectile weapons with this style, allowing their small projectile weapons to be interchangeable with small weapons for this style. [Flame Breathing Pattern] allows the user to detect when an offensive action is about to occur, giving them a slight increase in reflex per body rank of the user. Additionally, once every three posts, the user can defend against an offensive activation without utilizing an activation. This ability is passive. [Flame Attunement] This reduces the required chakra by 5 per rank for complex techniques that channel elemental powers. Also, this does not reduce the potency of the user's techniques in collisions. [Sight Through Smoke]The user's vision is no longer hindered within their smoke. [Keep Silent] During a post where a smoke-related technique was utilized, the user can remove all hints of their presence, including physical form, sound, and smell. This effectively removes their presence from even sensory class ninja and dojutsu. [Manipulating Line]After casting Retrieval, the user can tack on the additional chakra to the same activation of Retrieval. Instead of calling these weapons back to the user, they can be manipulated by the chakra threads they are attached to similarly to puppet strings.The chakra threads attached to the weapons remain active for three posts and techniques can be executed from the Manipulating Line technique as though thrown by the user if desired. [Shuriken Hunter] The user's scavenging skills ensure that they are always able to find new shuriken lying about and retrieve their used weapons. [Ancient Teachings] Becoming more familiar with molding chakra into their attacks, the user can spend five fewer chakras per rank of a complex of spiritual technique and must pay no less than 5 chakra for a technique. [Conditioned Physique] The user's simple bukijutsu requires 5 less stamina per rank of the technique. [Riptide] In the Weak Stance, the user may perform 4 activations in a given post. In the Strong Stance, the user may perform an additional offensive activation each post. Each additional technique costs an extra 20 Chakra to perform and must be either Formless or come from this Style. [Chain Gripping] The user grips the chain of their weapon, using it to sling the sickle end of their weapon about instead of the chain. Attacks the user executes while doing so have their range extended the length of the chain. This also allows the user to ignore shields as the chain wraps around the shield and allows the blade of the weapon to strike unhindered. [Major Control] Mastering this training allows the user to freely manipulate the kusarigama mid flight without use of environment to change its direction. Movement, however, is still limited to slight angles while the weapon is in flight. Doing so requires stamina equal to half the technique being altered be paid. [Devil Fang] The user can pay the cost of a technique twice once every three posts. When this is done, the user can release the technique twice at the cost of a single activation, allowing them to overwhelm a single target with ease. This may be done while dual wielding but must pay 1.5x the reserves to do so. [Venemous Fangs] The user's attacks drain the target of stamina equal to the rank of stamina applied to techniques they are stricken with. [Vitality Destruction]After completing this training, the user's simple and complex attacks sap stamina from their targets. It takes no additional activation or cost to use. Techniques function the same unless stated otherwise. • As an augmented complex skill, stamina must be used in each attack to deal damage of 1.25 times the corresponding amount. ( If you use 100 stamina in your attack, it will reduce 125 stamina from your opponent. ) [Beyond The Target] By applying five chakra per rank of the technique being used, the user can send chakra bullets through the target and extending five feet per rank of the parent technique. These bullets carry the same piercing power and act as an extension of the parent technique. [Acrobatic Mastery] After this training is complete, the user may use up to one technique per post that would lower the descriptive ranks affecting their speed without suffering that reduction. The user gains the ability to use Somersault to evade once every three post without it consuming an activation, but only against opponents whose body rank is at or lower than the user’s. [Perfecting Balance] This training allows the user to withstand off balancing effects or knock back effects as though they were one rank lower in strength. [Parkour Mastery] After completing this training, the user’s reflexes gain any bonuses afforded to their speed. [Armored Shinobi] The user can move with their armor as though they did not have it's restrictions or drawbacks. [Armored Champion] For each tier of armor ( Light, Medium, Heavy ) the user is wearing, they gain an active moderate increase to their fortitude while in combat. If an armor piece is broken, this buffer is negated. [Fluid Movement] Techniques used for a blocking, countering or evasive action have their cost reduced by 5 stamina per rank of the technique and must pay no less than 5 stamina. [Whirlpool Walking] In the deflecting stance, the user can deflect a technique of their body rank or lower once every three posts for no activation, still requiring the stamina/chakra cost paid. [Move as Water] Techniques that target multiple opponents may now have additional reserves paid to strengthen the effectiveness of the individual attack to the next highest rank.These can be paid individually, not requiring chakra or stamina to be paid for every split technique. • Crashing Thunder : Augments all of the users bukijutsu, even those outside of the Raiu bloodline, with a basic amount of lightning chakra. By applying this chakra collisions result in a pressure wave similar to a thunderclap. For each rank of the technique, the pressure wave throws the opponent back five feet unless the Act of surface Walking is used at equal rank and potency to the user's parent technique. • Ionic Blade The user's bukijutsu and basic combat weapon strikes may be made complex to add their lightning element to the attacks. This causes tiered paralysis on contact equal to the rank of the technique it is paired with. • Clan Members have a genetic affinity to the lightning element. • Clan members gain descriptive increases in the same manner as any standard Taijutsu or Bukijutsu. • Complex techniques performed gain the same bonuses as simple techniques. • Lightning based techniques may be used in the same manner as Mystic Hero allows. If the user is of Mystic Hero discipline, the user's Lightning/Buki Korabo is decreased to once every two posts.

Bastet assuming to have attended their ritual would bare witness to the long line of individuals paying 'tithe'. Each of them pricking their fingers and adding to the altar which served as a podium. Typical religious/culty behavior to be sure. The man clad in black whom had confronted them earlier would then spread his arms wide once again. "Bles-sed be thy blood!" to where everyone in attendance would hymn in unison. "Bles-sed are we as family." "Bles-sed are we by his love!" "Bles-sed are we bound by thy blood" the back and forth would continue creating an ever the more unsettling atmosphere. The large red light of the stained glass window would then begin growing smaller and smaller. There was no chakra or strange intervention occurring here simply the suns rays were being concentrated until eventually when hitting the correct zenith did the light concentrate on the pedestal.
Meanwhile, as Soraru proceeded with his investigation would he find nothing incriminating of the sort. Well, maybe it could be seen as incriminating without enough evidence. Behind the 'chapel' was essentially an area that was wide like an amphitheater. Polished granite and marble was stained with red. Dried blood was a recurrence everywhere. If taken and processed it was variant mixtures, human and animal. If traced back to individuals they would all return as alive and well if not part of this 'cult'. A similar podium stood at the head of the small amphitheater with a bowl shape, presently it looked like there was a small hole as if it were a fountain of sorts. It was either a spigot that sprayed or something of a drain. Not unlike the one in the building the sermon was being held in where everyone paid 'tithe' above it was a plaque. Suddenly did the blood from the varying members of the church begin to rise, it was slowly assuming shape and rising. that shape would be a heart. The heart-shaped figure of blood would then be sprayed forward to the sky. All members in the sermon would remove small pikes. Precisely did the priest manipulate the blood so not a single drop was wasted nor landed on the floor. Each drop landing on each participant's pike. If one thing could be confirmed from this, the priest clade in black had to have been a blood manipulator, a Saiketsu. If Shion could stomach it, she'd watch as each individual in attendance would lick the blood from the end of their pikes. Then the large symbol of jashin on the floor would light eerily. Shion would see that every member in attendance. Even those who seemed far from shinobi would begin to assume the skin color and features of one of the Jashinists strongest and most infamous transformations. What would Shion do now? Wait it out? And What would Soraru do?
