It's probably what they're not used to.
I love all of it, to be honest.

I have absolutely nothing against real boy slash. I think that it's much better than any other kind. I have many gay best friends, and it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I think the reason why so many people are against it is because that they are scared of change. This has been happening for years, but some people don't like change, or things that are different. They don't exactly give people a chance to say or do what they want to. I really think it's stupid. If it's something that a person wants to do, they can do it. You can't stop it. It's their life and their decision, and that should be reason enough.

I love real men getting it on just as well as in the mangas I read because its awesome. Some people have to understand that the authors who come up with yaoi some times get their ideals acual people, their friends, or things they've seen on TV. 4laugh

I'm alright with homosexual relationships, both real and fantasy, but RPS reeeeally gets to me. I mean, you're slashing two people together and pretty much warping their image to your own preferences. I think that's an insult to the people involved (however, slash on live-action shows/movies, I won't object to, because it's only the characters and not the actual actors).
Sorry if any of this is unintelligible gibberish. It's a quarter 'till eleven where I am and my brain is half-asleep.

Sorry if any of this is unintelligible gibberish. It's a quarter 'till eleven where I am and my brain is half-asleep. No, you're making perfect sense. whee I feel the same way. In my humble opinion, Real-life gay relationships = awesome. Gay porn = awesome. Slashing characters from live-action shows = awesome. Slashing REAL PEOPLE in which there is no evidence of a relationship = weird and not awesome. To further clarify, Alexander the Great x Hephaestion would be okay, because there's pretty good historical evidence that they actually were lovers. If someone wants to write some historical fiction based on that, I think they should go right ahead. I'd probably enjoy reading it. However, George Washington x Ben Franklin is not okay. gonk

I like almost any kind of slash...anime, manga, books, real. I mean, I'm a total fangirl, gotta spread the love! I dont' usually find the need to slash people in movies--there usually isn't any opportunity to anyway--but I do once in a while. And real guys? Of course! they make me a bit more edgy and fangirly thatn animations, but it's because it's real and not just a drwaing. ^^ But I'm against slashing REAL people. Because you have to respect their feelings too... but I guess movies, TV, and stuff like that is alright.

I prefer to read RPS. I have several slash books that are about well, let's just say, hot guys in the real world. I don't want to watch real guys, I do prefer animae. But I have nothing against RPS at all.

Personally, I don't understand people who say they like yaoi, but at the same time that they can't stand real person slash.
WTF?! It's just completely stupid!
And yeah, I can understand if people say they prefer yaoi because the guys are cuter and they aren't exactly against real person slash but it's just not so nice because it's not as hot. But to practically despise rps... Because there are some people who think so. And it feels so strange and wrong to me.
I love real person slash as much as I love yaoi. I'm a real slasher, I love making slash pairings. Yup. 3nodding

personally i prefer a gay guy to a straight one, but *shrug* i guess some ppl just don't have their minds open enough. either that or it's a strange malfunction of the brain whee seriously though, it could be that they're just easing into the idea of GLBT and yaoi is their first step. give them some time and they may come around. it takes a little getting used to to see the world differently then how you originally thought it worked (ie boys can be with boys and girls with other girls, since when? but mommy and daddy said ... well i guess yaoi is hot *confused stare* hmm.... ima have to think about this one).

Because people are raised to believe that's wrong in the real world. Most of our society is homophobic to a degree, and, therefore, slash or boy love in the real word is detestable. That's my theory, anyways.
