Seraphina assumes a defensive stance as the lizardfolk readies his club. (total defense if this is going in initiative order and we are technically in combat) "Valna is on the bottom floor in the main entrance way if you want to talk to her. Otherwise you can give us the information and we'll relay it to her. You said something about a gateway?"Like everything down here, she doubted this encounter would end in anything but a fight, but it was worth a shot to try and talk things out, barring any damage the wolf girl had already done with her silly ramblings. The lizardfolk was already passing information to his comrade in a different language so they couldn't understand was being said. She assumed the attack would come next. (11 Diplomacy check)

Morinth frowns, this wasn't going to end well. He began trying to slip back into the shadows as Acorn held attention, palming one of his bolts to quickly load it.

"Krisiiv"(relax) The dragonborn whispered to Rhak, before turning his back to the group and waving them to follow.
The dragonborn would lead them to a large mirror, near which stood a gnome, goblin and a half-elf. "Niim, Asz, Athdis". Pointing at the each as he listed their names. "I ordered Valna to krii munsivaas(kill the werebeast) Eztli. So, why is she at the bottom floor of the main entrance?"
"What's happened to my sister? the half-elf spoke sloshing though the water to get closer.

"Bottom floor?" Acorn would parrot, blinking a few times, before clasping both hands over her mouth in shock. "Oh!"Taking a step forward from the group, she would look at the half-elf with sorrow-filled eyes. "There's no easy way to say this. I think she was... well..." Looking back over her shoulder at the group, she would look back to the half-elf once more. "Athdis, when we arrived, there was this big ole hole in that first room, and some skellymans shooted... shotted... they fired arrows at us. I think they must have... got... Valna. It must have happened before we got here, because I didn't see anyone else until," she would say, gesturing towards the dragonborn and lizardfolk. "I'm so sorry that she got hurt, and we weren't quick enough to get here before that happened to prevent that. We were heading downstairs, and I think we're on our way to her prosition to check on her right now, to see if we can still rescue her. Isn't that right, everyone?"Quote: Diplomacy of NATURAL ONE for a 10 to explain our mission! That's what we're doing by heading in this direction, right? That's what Acorn assumes, anyways! biggrin

Despite the appearance of her sibling, any remorse Seraphina felt for Valna's death was quickly replaced by the memory that she was a worshiper of an evil god and that the wound where Valna had stabbed her in her back still ached painfully. These people were not good people, they were using slaves to search for a cursed egg of her kin to bring about an undead apocalypse. Unless they found some other way to dissuade this group from their intentions they would be coming to blows sooner or later. Once that halfling and kolbold returned the jig would be up anyways. After listening to Acorn speak Seraphina would let out a sigh. They probably should have briefed the wolf girl on what had taken place before she had arrived . At least she herself probably believed what she was telling them, the question is if anyone else would buy it. Seraphina decided to add in one other tidbit of information that would hopefully provide some distraction. "The guy you ordered her to kill jumped down that hole in the entrance and as far as we can tell he is still down there with her."

(I am trying a newer mapping stratagy... your locations aren't concrete, yet, tell me where you want your character to be. And if you want a different token share that image and it will be so... -everything blue is covered with water, and is difficult terrain -Mirror is on the far side of the room, beside the goblin. -The long things between you and them are pews, and the small rectangle things against the walls are chairs; they can provide cover, or one can stand on it to ignore the DT of the square. any questions?) The dragonborn, Athdis and Rhak took off as fast as their legs could carry them in the water. Niim took a seat on broken stone chair on the other side of the room, and pulled out a flask. "Did she suffer?" he would pause just long enough to pour out a bit of the fluid and take a drink himself, before turning his inquiry to Seraphina, because she held the blade. "and what of the symbol?"The goblin went back to examining the mirror and it's surroundings(Morinth; It takes a rogue; would know he was looking for traps). Morenth and Seraphina: Passive Perception; As you look directly at the mirror it is just a basic mirror, but, in the water's reflection of the mirror you could see four humanoids chanting as the water around the mirror blackens. Acorn: The water around the mirror blackens... and the goblin and gnome seem unaware.

"Eeehhhhhh?" Acorn would frown and rub the back of her head. "Just like that?" she would ask aloud as most of her new friends just... left, without a word.
She didn't get why the gnome was asking about her suffering, when Acorn just explained that her party wasn't there for that. Though... the water would darken around them suddenly.
Rather than be alarmed, Acorn seemed surprised more than anything else. She would look down at her own feet, splashing as she pressed her toes to the ground to gauge how deep the water was, and if the ground was level. "Say, is the water deeper over there?" she would ask aloud.

He'd frown, speaking in a very soft tone. "Fools already set off the trap, I'd stay a back if I were you."
The kobold began eyeing the walls, trying to tell what was going to happen, either way... "And perhaps out of the rapidly changing water." With that, he'd slowly back up, praying that he just appeared nervous and intimidated by the bigger lizards.
Backing to G6, crossbow in hand as he looks scared at the skeletons and the dragonborn. Then going to hide behind the door frame.

Though she found his question a bit odd to ask aobut ones associate, Seraphina would simply shrug her shoulders at the gnomes first question. Though when asked about the symbol she would respond. "You mean the amulet? Yeah, we might know something about that. What's so important about it though?"Seraphina would nudge Acorn with her shoulder and motion to her with her head to move back out of the water. She herself would then back up to G5.

"It points to the thing or person of your desire but, it requires a person with a strong faith, or one who can fake it. Among us only; Rikka's faith in Corellon, Valna's in Ioun, and Eztli in Gruumsh, was enough to activate it." Niim spoke to answer Seraphina's question, "And Rikka was murdered by the satyr, yesterday. Valna today, and Eztli is an unknown." "Nooooo." Asz spoke slowly in answering Acorn's question "The only appears that way because we are short... As soon as the dark water surrounded the goblin he was pulled under. With the vanishing of Asz, Niim stood up on his chair. "Asz!" Acorn Seraphina Morinth Asz - Prone, Grabbed, and Drowning Niim Water (Removing Coral/Max, from combat, until we hear from the player. A full retreat is everyone getting to the stairs or the elevator.)

MOVE ACTION"Oh no!" Acorn would gasp loudly, and no sooner had the words left her lips that she was already making her way towards where the goblin went down. It took a little effort, though. Quote: Horizontal jump of 9, which rounds down to 0 squares cleared. Acorn clambers up to the pew and attempts to hop to the next one, but it was slippery and she misjudged, nearly knocking the wind out of her as she landed into the next pew than on top of it. Quote: Acorn moves 2 southeast to L8. MOAR MOVE ACTIONClimbing up on the next pew, she leapt forward, trying to get where the goblin was! Quote: Horizontal jump of 20, which rounds down to 2 squares cleared. She lands in L11. Splashing to where the water may or may not have been deeper than she expected, she would shout out a warning. "Watch out! I think there's umbra toe! Like the ocean!"MINOR ACTIONQuote: Perception of 18. WHERE DEM GOBLINS AT?

Despite his dark armor and darker waters, Acorn was able to spot the goblo... and the arm that was holding him down. Following it back, she would find herself staring into the eyes of a dead eater, a ghoul hidden under the water right next to her(K11). And it doesn't look pleased at her looking back at it.
(Will update the map after the Kow and Rag's posts.)

"Acorn. No!" Seraphina would slap her forehead in frustration as the wolf girl ran deliberately forward into the trap. That goofball always did the opposite of what she wanted her to do. She was tempted to leave her and retreat to safety with Morinth, but she wasn't about to leave a comrade behind. Seraphina slogs through the water moving up to I8. She holds Valna's falchion at the ready,(total defense). She eyes the dark water while shouting at the gnome. "Niim, whats your groups intention once you find the dragon egg?"

(just because talking is free)
"What?!" Niim was confused at the moment of choice for Seraphina to ask such a question. "Asz, Athdis, and I wants only to stop an apocalypse! I don't know about the others!"

Well, everyone knew something was going on now. "Out of the water, it's not right!" He made sure to keep one eye on the changing blackened water while looking still towards the skeletons. "Anyone see what grabbed him?"
