Inquiring minds wish to know, if no one posts in a few days. Can I post again or would it be better to wait the week?
Quick, before the Pirate Mindflayers gets my frosted flakes!

Quick, before the Pirate Mindflayers gets my frosted flakes! As far as I'm concerned, you can post as frequently as you would like (as a player), as long as you at least made an effort to include one or more of your fellow players.

Would Thork know which houses were abandoned? And the outskirts are the farms, right? Personally; outside of sickness, death, gambling debts, and the occasional theft/banditry, I don't see why any one of the houses would be empty (at all/for long). Live in an area with magical protection, no monster attacks, crops/cattle remain undamaged from beast attacks/feedings..etc...etc... Add a schoolhouse, and a sports team, and it sounds like the perfect place to raise a family.

Add a schoolhouse, and a sports team, and it sounds like the perfect place to raise a family. There's very few 'abandoned' buildings, and any buildings that are empty tend not to remain that way very long. Most of the 'empty' ones are newly constructed ones that haven't had anyone move in yet. Clearwell's expanding! So Thork probably doesn't KNOW which ones are empty but he would probably know just by looking at them, plus having a few good guesses where to look first. Yeah, pretty much the outskirts are all farmland. Something to consider though, is a good number MIGHT have emptied over the past 24 hours (via consolidation into 'safer' structures. Like the church to Avandra!). Again, Thork might be able to tell just by looking too. "Huh, Old Man Jenkins isn't tending his fields..." and the like.

Currently, Thork is offering to bring you guys to see the buildings on the outskirts of town. In exchange for you helping track down his mother, of course. Will you take him up on his offer, brave adventurers?

Kowsauni ((I already stated I follow Thork.)) Plainsfox OOC Same here....I think. What a character says they will do, and what you say the character does, are two different beasts. An example would be if your character said "I think going to the farms is a good idea!" But as soon as the party starts to leave... maybe you run away. Maybe you take up your sword and run another party member through. Maybe you decide you want to talk amongst yourselves more first, suddenly thinking of something important. If you don't say your character does something, they don't actually do it.The one most solid piece of advice I've been given by more experienced DMs than I, is that you don't control the players' PCs, and you cannot make decisions for them. A bit of leeway is given in a PBP forum for that because of players not being online to post, but otherwise, I try to leave all the decisions in your hands, rather than make assumptions.

That said, SCN has been absent it seems, so I'll post on his behalf tomorrow if he doesn't do so by then, saying he follows through with his intent of leading you there.
Again, PBP problems.
