He didn't want to fight and his voice stayed soft and sorrowful, but she was being foolish and stubborn and though she may not know it she was being hurtful too. He nodded before he stood up to go outside. "Just so you have your priorities straight. The happiness of strangers over the happiness of loved ones... got it. Least Morpheus died for family." He started towards the lake, he was in need of a swim this time. He stopped and looked at her again the sadness gone from his features, his face was now hard lined his mouth disapproving "You ever think you're death might cause others to wish they were as well? To fall into destructive habits that might become self fulfilling prophesies?" It had nearly happened to him in the early years after his grandfathers death. He had been so full of rage at the murderers and himself for not saving him though his rational mind knew they would have both died had he tried. He had sought revenge and lashed out at good folk trying to help... he had nearly gotten himself killed on more than one occasion. he had often entertained thoughts of suicide to reunite with family... he never tried to act on any of them but the thoughts had been there, for years they had been there.
His day had been ruined already and damn it he had really wanted it to be a nice day... how did she figure out how to push all his buttons already?! Stubborn and pigheaded... he grumbed to himself practically stomping down to the lake though he managed enough self control to not actually stomp. She offers him a family and though he has lost everyone he had ever loved she talks of dying! Was she trying to hurt him? Dangle what he wanted most and swipe it away?
Reaching the lake he didn't even stop he dove into the water and swam to the bottom. He wrapped his tails around rocks and fallen trees to anchor himself under. In this world all he could hear was his own heart beat, everything here was quiet and slow moving. Peaceful, completely removed from the troubles of above. He could calm himself center himself focus on what he needed to do. He really hoped every day wasn't going to be a roller coaster of emotions like they seemed to be with her around... he'd never be centered again. He frowned again but it faded quickly, in this underwater world emotions didn't last long washing away in the cool gentle current. He watched the fish swim by, he wondered if they had the troubles kitsu did.

"And who says I won't die for my family?" She asked rhetorically, no one knew what the future would bring so how can he say she will or wont die for her family? "This is who I am, deal with it, if not then why are we even having this conversation? If we both die then we both die, the other won't hold it against me in the afterlife, at least I DID try to save the other and besides we all do sooner or later anyway, if I can save others whilst I am here then so be it, I am not about to tell them that they are a stranger and so I am not even going to bother helping them" she said as she started back towards the cave, ran in and got her tarot cards and then left again. Odessa started making her way towards the woods, deciding to go to the clearing in there that she had found a while back, sure she knew he was upset, it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out but still if he didn't want to fight then why did HE bother bringing this up? Why didn't HE just leave it alone till later? If he was annoyed with her then why didn't HE let it go for the time being? Oh no, thats right, it is HER fault that he is annoyed, got it, nice to know, well then she will just leave him alone since obviously neither of them really wanted to be around each other so she will just go to the clearing for a bit and do a couple of readings.
A celestial was watching them from a tree, Thane and Sayako had asked one of their friends to keep an eye on the two of them and he was not liking how this was turning out, regardless whether or not she or he was right there WAS something between them and he was not going to let them ignore it and especially not since Oliver was involved, he followed Odessa quietly towards the clearing, he was told to do anything he could to make the two hang out together, get to know each other etc and so far that was going completely wrong so he was going to have to step in and do something about it. Orion decided to wait till Odessa had made it to the clearing before jumping down from the tree and walked cassually in, stopping as he saw her "oh, I am terribly sorry" he said, feigning being surprised "I didn't know anyone else was here" he said as he stayed where he was for the time being "if you would allow it, may I please keep you company?" He asked, hoping she would say yes.
Odessa looked up at the other and smiled softly at him as she nodded "of course, I would love to have your company" she said, taking note of the other, he was cute, beautiful black fur, a silver crescent moon on his flank whilst 'stars' were all over the other parts of him, how could she say no? Besides, after the guy she just got away from maybe hanging around him would be fun, it would keep her mind off that other male she just left "I am Odessa, and you are?" She asked as she gestured for him to have a seat beside her.
"I am Orion, pleased to meet you" he said as he settled down beside her.
"The pleasure is all mine" she said as she put her cards to the side for the time being, there was now a rather handsome Kitsu beside her, the readings can wait.

Gersif watched the fish nibbling on a weed before a larger fish darted out and ate the smaller one... the circle of life he might have sighed were he not in need of that air. He had steeled himself to the facts of life and death early on, his harsh lessons serving as a sharp reminder... but that was before he had let himself care. Could he not care? Shut off his emotions again?
He released his tails hold and floated up to the surface taking a breath and swam to the opposite bank shaking himself off and seeking out a sunny spot to lie down and dry off, maybe cast some runes.. or... could he? He had never managed to before... well hell why not give it one last go.. it almost killed him last time but it didn't seem like he'd really be missed so why not. Then the thought occurred to him that the reason Odessa would die to save a stranger was that she was still trying to save her dead brother. He filed that thought away for later and proceeded on his course, he had set himself upon it and he would see it through. Perhaps he would finally receive enlightenment.
He had tried to have a spirit quest once before and ended up face to face with a valkyrie trying to kill him, least that's what he thought had happened, he had just barely managed to survive. He gathered a few herbs and found a clearing to set himself up in. He dug up the grass in spots around a circle and placed herbs on the bare earth. Taking rocks he struck then against each other creating a spark and setting the herbs on fire. He sat in the middle of the circle breathing in the smoke. Closing his eyes he sank into himself the outside world falling away. A road appeared before his soul leading away from his body following the path he sought out his guide. If anyone were to find his body now they might not realize he was still alive his body lying motionless in a circle of rancid smoke. Moving him could be disastrous, he needed that smoke to find his was back.
Moving around a bend he saw her a whispy winged figure waiting for him her eyes burned into his soul and chilled him. He wasn't a battle worn warrior he would get no Valhalla. She didn't speak, she never did, instead she flew off and he sent out to follow her. She landed at a cave that he both recognized and didn't, he didn't recall where he had seen it. She settled herself down on a bed and disappeared. It was Odessa's cave.. how did he not realize that before? He had spent enough time there the past few days. Why had she led him here only to disappear? He gave an ethereal sigh and headed back to his body, hopefully he hadn't been disturbed.

Odessa had calmed down, talking with Orion had been great, really, she was enjoying his company greatly, so much so she had completely forgotten about why she was in that clearing in the first place "Orion, would you like to join me on a walk? I just will drop my cards back home and then I am all yours" she said as she got up and stretched.
Orion nodded "I would love to" he said, finding this woman to be alot more fascinating then what he first heard about her from Sayako, Electra and Thane but he had been with her for the past half hour, give or take a minute or two, and a walk would be nice, he would like to get to know her better, it would be nice if he could become her friend, sounded like she needed a few more then what she had before everything happened and if he could become that at least well, so be it, it might do her well in the long the run.
"Great!" She said as she got up and picked up her cards and they both started out of the clearing and towards home.

The only problem was that every time he tried to go back he kept ending up at the cave... did someone get rid of the herbs? He was screwed if that was so... he should have checked his location better. He sighed and shook his head he couldn't think negatively, he had been led here there must be a reason. He went back into the cave checking everything that was there with what he remembered of the real world version... he didn't see anything different. The bed perhaps? He pulled back the covers but nothing seemed changed.. what was he suppose to do? What was he suppose to find? She never did seem to be much help he wondered why he bothered to try. He flopped himself down on the bed to try and think more clearly when she returned again her wispy for illuminated by the not-quite-sunlight of this plane waiting for something he just didn't know what. He watched her, feeling her gave bore into him he was forced to look away and got up to pace instead physical activity always helped him thing and well this wasn't really physical but the principle applied.

Odessa came back to her cave and entered, placing the cards back where they belonged she smiled at the other "right, lets get going" she said as she left the cave and walked to the right, a different way from what they had come and leading towards the other outskirts of where they usually lived, there were fruit trees and bushes down here as well, they could stop and get a snack if need be "like fruit?" She asked the other, probably a stupid question but meh.
Orion nodded as he walked beside her "I do, why?" He asked curiously.
"Oh, no reason really, just that down this way there are some fruit trees and bushes, thought we could get something to eat" she said as she closed her eyes, looking up, the sun on her face felt awesome, she was actually glad she could get a walk in today since it was apparent she was going to be doing nothing else.
That did sound great but he just remembered that way was off limits to her for at least a little while since the others were working on something "wait, umm can we go somewhere else?" He asked curiously "I was thinking maybe a trip to the mountains? There is a point half way up that shows us a beautiful view of the valley, I can always get us some fresh fish later?" He suggested, hoping she would say yes to the idea.
Odessa wanted to go down the other way but meh, she was always up for a beautiful view so she nodded "alright, lets go your way" she said as they turned to go his way.

Her wispy form curled outward as if disturbed by some outside force as though something or someone had walked right through her and when it recoalesced for an instant it was the shape of Odessa, just for an instant, and then the piercing eyes and powerful wings were back.
He blinked refocusing his eyes, is that what she had wanted to tell him? She didn't look pleased about being disturbed ... but then she never looked pleased. "Is that what you're trying to tell me? Do I belong here? Is this where I will find my answers?" She didn't say a word, didn't move a muscle she simple looked at him almost as though she were bored. It was rather frustrating seeing as he was risking death for some answers. "Why won't you answer me?! Tell me! Do I belong here? Am I meant for Odessa and she for me?" when he spoke her name it echoed around him no other word had but her name seemed to resonate with the place and echoed until it grew loud enough he was forced to flatten his ears.. it didn't help.
And of course the valkyrie had disappeared once again. He was fairly certain he knew the answer at least now he just needed to get back to his body... that is if he could find it...

Orion stopped and looked back at the cave, thinking he head heard the females name but shook his head and carried on with her.
"Something wrong?" Odessa asked curiously.
"Oh, nothing, I just thought I head someone say your name, my mistake" he said as he reached up and nipped playfully at her ear.
"Hey!" She said as she gently pushed him "stop that!" She said as she pushed him one last time and ran off.
"Didn't your parents ever tell you that pushing is rude?!" He called, running after the other.
"No, they didn't, or at least I don't think so, never could sit still long enough to be taught" she called back, jumpping over a log and carrying on, keeping her distance from the male.
"That would explain so much then" Orion said as he ran a little faster before pouncing on her, making her fall to the ground "I think it is time I taught you" he said as he pinned her and then licked her nose before getting off her and carrying on running ahead.
"Hey! You can't do that! That isn't fair!" She said laughing as she carried on running after him.

He headed back out of the cave heading in what would be the direction of the lake but in this plane could take him to the serengeti for all he knew. This side was always full of twists and turns and if a soul didn't keep to it's path or follow the scents of the herbs it was unlikely they would find their way home. He just had to hope he hadn't been gone long enough to be disturbed.
The herbs sent was faint and difficult to pinpoint a location for, he was just going to have to try his luck and prey he was right, never trust your eyes in this world always trust your soul. It's natural place is within it's own body and as long as the body is alive it has a tether to it, it will want to go home... but it's often old habits of ignoring ones soul that leads those astray. He closed his eyes and putting his faith in his nose and his soul's compass he set out to 'find himself' he mused at it since he had first sought his spirit guide for just that purpose and she tried to kill him, now he sought her guidance and she made him find himself... almost seemed the definition of irony.
He stopped thinking he was close he opened his eyes, nope just some path in the woods maybe some laughter? it was light and distant he couldn't be sure, then in the distance again the valkyrie but not the valkryie her form expanding and collapsing in on itself over and over again. "What do you want from me? Answer me!" Instead she turned and walked away "WAIT!" He charged after her, she was more frustrating than Odessa! At least she would talk to him

((LOL see! Odessa DOES have her good points! XD))
After a bit they both had slowed down and had ended up laying on their backs and catching their breath as they watched the clouds in the sky, pointing out the different shapes the clouds made and chatting a bit until Odessa's stomach started to growl.
"I guess it is time for lunch" Orion said as he got up "stay here, I will be back in a moment" he said as he got up and ran off to see about getting some fish for them both.
Odessa got up and laid on her stomach, crossing her front paws and watched him go, he was handsome, a provider, a gentleman and was interested in what she had to say, he listened, he didn't judge her and...and a part of her was forcing to keep those thoughts of anything more happening between them away from the front of her mind but, as much as she hated to admit it to herself, she couldn't, the more time she spent around him the more she was wanting something more to develop between them.
((Oh yes, throwing a spanner into the works is just SO much fun. XD))

He reached the places the valkyrie last stood and over looked a scene that clenched at his heart stopping him in his tracks. Odessa laying breathless beside a male kitsu he had never seen before, when was this? Now? Past? Future? She looked the same no younger no older he suppressed a growl from growing jealousy he knew nothing about it... could be totally innocent could have been before they were ever together this side was not exactly bound to the same rules as the real world. "ODESSA!" her name echoed around him again, it was worth a shot, if this was the present there was a possibility she could hear him. She had to be what the valkyrie wanted him to know or why would she keep showing him her and her place? Why would her name echo when no other word would? "ODESSA!"

Odessa was taken away from her thoughts and shook her head to clear it but the reason she was was because she thought she had heard her name, looking around there was no one, Orion hadn't come back yet and the river they passed was a little way back so he wouldn't be back for a good ten or so minutes so who was calling out her name? She got up and looked around just incase the person calling her name was hiding for some reason but there was no one, she laid down again, obviously she was hearing things.

He frowned, nope it was the present.. damn. He sat down and mulled over everything. He hadn't yelled at her merely disapproved of harmful behavior... that couldn't send her into the arms of another man could it? They both seemed so adapt at hurting each other without trying... if this male was better suited for her.. he stopped the thought he wanted to be rational about it but couldn't just step aside... he... he wanted her to be happy... but he didn't want to lose her either... and they had to think of Oliver, his head spun pulled this way and that unable to settle upon a decision. Damn it this is what happened when you let others in things get muddled! He stood up he was going to get back in his body and find her that was what the Valkyrie was telling him wasn't it? To be with her? To fight for her? After all, that's what Valkyries were about battle. "Alright I'm going to fight for you. Don't give up on me!" He shouted at her image before running off in search of his body he just hoped that bi** Valkyrie didn't get in his way.

Orion came back with a couple of fish and placed them down in front of her "lunch is served, I hope one is enough" he said, not minding if he had to go and get more.
"One is plenty, thank you" she said as she took the top one and took a bite out of it.
Orion watched her eat, how could that idiot let such a beautoful, sweet girl get away? He knew he had to push her back to Gersif and yet...he didn't want to, she was growing on him and the more he spent around her the more he wanted to be with her also but whilst he knew Oliver was the main reason he was doing this he also didn't want to think about it, he just wanted time to stop so he could spend eternity with her and not worry about anything else "how is it?" He asked, pushing those thoughts to the back of his mind.
"It's great!" She said as she lent over and nuzzled him once he laid down to eat "thank you for today, it was really appreciated" she said, mind slowly going back to her problems but pushed them back, she wasn't going to start thinking about them yet, not when she was having a great time.

Gersif didn't see her again didn't have any more visions of Odessa and finally trusting in his nose he found his way back to his body safely where he left it. He settled back into his body snuggling into it like a warm blanket, waking up was a bit odd, he wasn't sure if it would always be like this or if it was only because he didn't do this often, he wasn't planning on finding out. He was slow his body feeling tight and restrictive compared to the east of movement of his soul. Now he had to find Odessa. Only question was where was she? He checked the herbs they had nearly all burned out.. that was why it had been hard to smell.. he's have to remember that, not that he planned on ever doing this again.. ever. He left them they were mostly smolders now and ran no risk of setting anything on fire. He instead headed towards the cave from there he would see if he couldn't find where she went, he hoped the ground held some trace of her passage.
