Raganui Minamoto Rain... my bow is my second weapon. As for background and a lot of stuff, I'm going to be working on it a bit. I'll make sure to get it to you. Yea... i started with arrows and no bow. The books I have (3e and 3eR) all say you get the following starting gear: katana, Wakizashi, Bow and 20 Arrows (any type), any two weapons, light armor, helm; kimono and sandals, traveling pack; 10 koku.

Agent Sinistra Man, family lines are so confusing at times. Make me wish I played orphans from time to time. But then I remember how much fun it is to come up with them. rofl Also, as a head's up, Rain, I changed it so that the maho-tsukai grandfather is from the paternal side. It's what I did with my Shosuro in my Monday Night game! Her parents were part of a vassal family sworn to the Bayushi family, and were killed by an invading regiment of Dark Moto. She and her brother were adopted by Shosuro Ryosei, and trained to follow in his footsteps. Her real name is Shosuro Noriko, but she goes by the alias "Bayushi Nori".

Plainsfox Mongooseh Ha! Of course if a scorpion is caught wearing armour he is doing something wrong. Or shouldn't be in someone else's armour... >.> Fixed it for you...unless the Scorpion is ordered to be caught. I lol'd. And Mongooseh, Scorpion are NOT ninja. They are samurai, just like everyone else. Even the Shosuro Shinobi start with Light Armor, and they're as close to ninja as you'll ever see *smokebombs!*

Mine just said arrows. Uh... you know, I got nothing on that second weapon. I already got 3 blades and a bow. I don't see myself as the horseman type. Hell, he's got an anti-cavalry weapon.
As for update... yea, give me a bit and I'll repost.
Backstory will be done soon, talking to that one person that also got Maho.

For whatever my advice is worth, tantos (Daggers) and yaris (spears) are honorable and proper secondary weapons. You may want to think about a Tessen (War fan) as well. No one said you had to use the weapon.

I'd list your wound levels as 0/4, so you can "fill them up" as you get hurt. So, if you take 7 wounds from an attack, your Healthy would be 4/4, and your Nicked would be 3/4. You erased your Traps skill. It's a class skill and mandatory; no getting out of it for you! Bwahaha! I have you at 1 CP remaining. Besides that, it's all good :3

I.... don't know when I can read all 12 of those pages, but I've been convinced I can learn this game with what spare time I have, so, I'm gonna try and skim in the book later, point me toward anything important in this thread I should acquaint myself with?

Pages 1-4 have key flavor information at a glance and a description of how the game works. Other pages are not required although they might contain examples and the like. I think we spent three or four pages in a three way Lion vs. Crab vs. Scorpion fight ><.

Raganui Minamoto Mmkay... oh yea, forgot about wounds... uh... halp! You have a certain amount of wounds per health level equal to twice your earth ring (so, 2 x 2 = 4). That means, you can take 4 damage and still be "healthy". If you were hit for 5 damage, you would be on the first wound of "nicked", meaning you take -3 to all your rolls. Basically, to bring down anyone with an Earth Ring of 2, you need to do 25 damage (bring them to "Down"). A further 4 damage will take them out of the fight altogether (bring them to "Out"). 9 more damage will kill them. So to bring someone with Earth 2 from full health to dead takes 38 damage. Earth 3, 57 damage. Earth 4, 76 damage. Look at how Plainsfox listed his wound levels, and I would say copy/paste that directly into your own sheet :3
