I had noticed that quite a few others had described themselves as geeky ^^

I've played mainly dungeons and dragons but I like the Star Wars version of it a lot more. I also play the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game and intend to enter a national tournament probably next year now. I've also been tempted by magic the gathering but don't currently have anyone who could teach me to play.

What edition of D&D?

I'm not sure which one it was now, it was about a year ago with a group of friends I don't see much of any more. They set everything up so I haven't played since, I've been trying to get another group going for a while but getting everyone in the right place at the same time is proving to be challenging sweatdrop

Oh, wow. I remember when D&D first came out. A lot of my friends played it, but it was too abstract for me. So it's still around? Did they ever make a video game of it? Maybe that would help me learn it, because I'd love to learn how to play.

When I played it they had just released some new monster and campaign books so it's still going strong. I found it quite overwhelming at first but it got easier when I had an established character. I wish they would make a video game of it, it would be awesome but I don't think they have. There was a movie of it once though I think...

'ello, I'm Citation, most of my friends IRL call me either Takai or Militant, though(former usernames). Pretty much anything will work when referring to me, I even respond to "Hey, a*****e!" on occasion.

I'm...not all too sure what to say for an intro. I'm freakishly tall(6'6"), a 'Poly Wog'(I believe that's the correct term), and a trekkie. I have been married to my gorgeous wife Rebekah for 4 years now, and currently pursuing one prospective.

I got slightly confused because there's a member forum and then there's this, but I'm thinking I introduce myself here so here goes!

I'm Miss Malarkie (real name is Cheyanne), a 20 year old girl from the South of the United States. My current primary (and only) partner is an amazing 27yr old man who happens to live 10 hours away from me, but I'm trying to remedy that and will be moving closer to him in the future.
Our relationship sort of just happened, (and I don't mean 'just happened' as in recently, but 'just happened' as it was very unexpected and we kind of fell into a serious romantic relationship almost instantly) and as such we had the poly discussion *incredibly* early on.
As in, day of meeting.
He told me he was probably the least jealous person on the planet, and I told him I could give him a run for his money. =) Being that we're long distance, neither one of us is bothered at all if the other picks up a second (or third or fourth) partner. Though, that probably won't change at all when we're no longer long distance. We both really enjoy seeing each other happy.
Plus, being bisexual (er-me, not him), he doesn't want me to turn off an entire part of my sexuality just because I'm with a man. We have fun conversations that go like this:

Him: Do you think that girl is cute?
Me: Yeah, she's pretty hot.
Him: You going to go flirt with her?
Me: Uh, no..-blushblush-
Him: Okay, but she's cute, right?
Me: Yep.
Him: Do you want me to go ask her to come over here and flirt with you?

Heh. We're special.

My partner is also the dom in our relationship. We have a very unique dom/sub relationship. He didn't really *ask* for it, again- it's just something we fell into. I am not the most emotionally stable person, and so he's happy that of all the people I could have submitted to- because some of them WILL hurt me, he's glad I chose him. For his part, he doesn't treat me as subservient to him. He enjoys that I do things because I know he wants them, that I am an intelligent woman who chooses to do the things he asks, not because I've been broken into submission (I haven't. He wouldn't ever hit me more than a spanking.). He takes incredibly good care of me and makes sure I'm always happy.
It's a very mental thing for us.
And he's *hand making* me a collar. It's pretty awesome.

Alright, what else can I say?
I'm another polygeek. My partner has "Game Master" on his business cards, haha. We do tabletop roleplays occasionally, but these aren't really D&D. They are D&D-esque but original roleplays put together by mutual friends.
I draw (amphigorica.deviantart.com <--nothing really there yet..), and write, and do crafty sort of things.
(I make jewelery and pretty things, but I'm looking more to focus on plushies/stuffed animals..and sex toys and fetish/burlesque wear). Not together, though. I made a really awesome pair of pasties and I can't wait to make s'more.

And now, on a completely unrelated note:
I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (along with a ton of anxiety disorders). This isn't really so much need to know as a head's up in case I get paranoid or angry for seemingly no reason.

For the most part, though, I am a positively integrated member of today's society. -grin-

This is actually the best place for introductions, Malarkie! *hugs* welcome! The member subform is more for blog/journal threads, but some members make their introductions there as well 3nodding Make yourself quite at home, and my inbox is always open, the other crew are also usually quite available for messages as well, but I'm not able to speak for them. sweatdrop

Graverg and I just kind of happened as well X3 Our relationship was open before it even began as well. We talked about relationship philosophies before we started dating and just kind of confirmed it after we figured out we were dating.

Glad to hear you're happy with your relationship. Welcome to the guild biggrin

And yes, this is more a general introduction thread as the Member's forum is more blog-style updates, though basic information/introduction is usually kept on the first post. As Saew said smile

My partner was actually specifically looking to NOT meet potential partners at the convention where we met, because the convention is close to me which is ten hours away from him. But, we sort of fell head over heels for each other and it honestly couldn't be helped.
He actually told me he loved me before we ever became an 'official' couple. But, while unconventional, our pace works for us.

I am so incredibly happy. Unbelievably happy. Impossible-to-describe happy.
My partner says he doesn't consider either of us perfect, but we are certainly perfect for each other, and I completely agree with him. =)

Thank you *very* much for the welcome. =)

Similarities abound! Graverg and I met at a convention as well XD But neither of us were quite ten hours away from it. I was about...three? He was about 45 mins away. Still, unexpected for both of us.

That's always nice to hear, I hope you enjoy yourself here. <3

Oh wow, that's a nifty coincidence right there. =)
Talk about like-minded people, haha. Well, that is a very cool similarity indeed!

The Con we met at was about an hour an half drive away from me, and a 10 hour drive for him. He had a number of really bad internet romances, and didn't want to do the distance thing again, and I had just come out of a 6 year semi-abusive relationship and was still too busy throwing my pity party to be looking for love.
But life has a funny way of working out like that. =)

I definitely think I will enjoy myself here. It's nice to find intelligent, responsible people who share my interests and who I can talk to. =)

Well, my name is Teri, or Chris, or Oral, or whatever else you feel like calling me; I'm 20, living in north-western Arkansas alone. I'm a total nerd (beyond just geeky), a lover of fantasy and horror, and literature in general, and can often be caught singing out loud with whatever happens to be blasting on my headphones. I love to cook, and I love to share in general, anything from music to recipes, insights to hugs. I'm bisexual, and could probably be persuaded into pansexuality if I liked someone enough.

As for the polygamy issue... I'm apprehensive. I've considered it, I've looked into it, but finding reliable unbiased information on it is difficult, to say the least. Right now, I'm simply looking for answers and support, rather than a place to share common ground. That comes later. You can blame my heightening considerations partially on Saew, in fact.

But, that's... as condensed as I feel like doing right now. Hopefully, this is something I won't regret.

Well, welcome to the guld, Wheelie. Not sure what I did to get you in here other than the link in my signature, but we are a fairly relaxed group. It's been quiet for the most part lately between holidays and having several students among our population.
