A shape swirls into view in the midst of the fire, eying him sadly. "Yes, Kerobian... what do you want this time?"

"Or mayhaps to prepare her... a forewarning.... she has a warriors spirit, young lion... as we both know full well. It would be best if she entered into it with eyes full open... too many go to war thinking that because they are right... their side will win hands down..." sighs Lathander softly. He looks down at the sleeping priet and smiles. "Keeping her from that battle will be impossible, I'm afraid."

Lathander's face is drawn and tired. "Many will fall, many I hold dear.... no, child of emptiness.... she will not survive, but she will play a vital part... I dare not reveal this.... the future is not immutable... it can be changed. All I can do is prepare her for the trials ahead."

Lathander reaches out from the fire to rest a gentle hand on his head and a sense of peace descends upon him... "Perhaps you will find a way... someday... I pray that you do... you and your friends... caught up in the cycle of pain and sorrow... but I cannot tell you what to do... the choices you make must be yours and yours alone.... You know this, don't you?"

"Kero," sighs the god sadly. "If you attempt to do this, you will be removed.... the end is not yours alone to decide... and I suspect you know this... sad isn't it... those of us who can... cannot.... and those of us who must... do not.... but that is the way of things... do not shoulder this on your own for if you do, you will fail and in failing condemn them all.... Be at peace, Kerobian... and know, The time is yet far away.... but prepare thyself for it's arrival all the same... for it has been said that it will come like a thief in the dark to steal your lives away... do nt let it catch you unaware."

And with that the god fades.

He sits there for a bit, warming by the fire, thinking of what he's just heard. Deep within him was a storehouse of ancient memories, but all out of reach and he is feeling rather young and out of his league. Looking down at Shar, he smiles. How many incarnations has she gone through?. And Mica? Obviously, a lot, as they both seem to be key pivotal figures along with Ai, Bez, and the others. Funny, he had not seen the gem-children, not as lions, but he had sensed their presence and once or twice he had seen glimmering gems on the foreheads of other creatures. Thirteen million years seemed like an eternity, until it was measured up against the length and breath of creation and then it becomes a blink of an eye. How old was Ai truly? And Bez?

And wasn't it odd that he seemed to find them all in his life.

Standing up he quickly douses the fire and ports Sharmistra home, to Mica's office.

As usual, his mentor is sitting behind his desk, pouring over some new translation, though piles of paper work off to one side showed he had been hard at work on temple matters until recently. As he appears, Mica's head comes up with a smile that quickly fades.

"Kero, what happened?" he cries coming to help him with the sleeping healer.

"Nothing, she seemed unduly tired, so I though a little nap would be in order. She claims not to have been sleeping very well." says the lion propping up her kit against a chair.

Mica sighs and shakes his head. "You and your expediency.... one of these days your going to regret your ask first and deal later approach to things. But as it is, I thank you for she truly hasn't. Poor thing, so many worries and no one to go to herself except this tired old gray head. Only this time she refused to confide in me. I pray it isn't something serious."

Then he shakes himself and laughs softly. "If it was I am sure she'll come eventually. She's not one to hide. Anyway, How is the Lady Fortuny doing? I take it her cubs are born?"

Mica summons his aide with a small smile. "Tell the proud parents I shall say a prayer for them and their new charges at this evening's servie. How long will our intrepid healer be asleep, do you think?"

Mica nods. Then I'll simply have her taken to her room. You will be heading back then, I assume."
