His instincts were telling him to pull a dagger to keep the fairy away, then get out as quickly as possible, but those were Menzoberranzan instincts, there was rarely a need for such drastic measures. Besides, unless this one had some sort of charisma-based magic, it seemed like he was at least willing to try starting things off on a positive foot. Still, he was keenly aware of where his daggers were and how much time it would take for him to draw one and have it at the level of the other's throat. "We generally abhor daylight; however, it is sufficiently dark today that I can get by." He couldn't help but feel that the "like this" comment was in reference to his wardrobe, and he did have to admit he felt incredibly out of place in it. "Yes...apparently this is 'workout' apparel. The Matron felt my normal attire ill-suited, and suggested I wear this. I am unaccustomed to such things, but she knows best." Normally he would not have thought to utter such blasphemous thoughts, but the person opposite him was a male, and he could understand the sometimes perplexing situations that the women would put them in. Yet most of the time, it worked out. Further evidence of their superiority. "I should not have been surprised to see your kind here, moon elf, they do tend to prefer the cities of other species. What surprises me is that I had not met one sooner."
For a moment he thought what little light there was had caused him to hallucinate and hear some nonsense about drow being welcome in fairy forests. Yet everything else seemed normal, so he must have heard that correctly. That and, since when were moon elves forest dwellers? "Your land sounds fantastic, fa- -elf. On what plane does it lie?" He didn't know anything about the different planes: that was left to the wizards and priestesses, but he at least knew they existed. Further, he had to admit he was rather proud of his diction; fantastic could mean both something that is very good or something that seems from the realm of fantasy. In this case, he meant both. Did that mean he was dealing with a psycho? For his health, he hoped the fairy was a non-violent psycho. Though he could be reassured that unless his opponent was particularly quick with spells, Drizyrr could have a dagger in the man's throat before he even had a chance to throw some horrendous sun spell at him. "No, I am rarely here. Usually it is much too bright for me at this time of day. Today happens to be an exception." Also he had been lain up for almost a month, but no way was he going to divulge such a weakness. "Have you visited the island? It has an actual forest, which may be more to your liking." He could pretend to be friendly as well as the rest of them; it helped keep some daggers out of your back.
"Long was the hour for the valiant knight that would ne'er be sick or slain Lonely the bower in the candle light with neither kith nor kin Storm clouds over the full moon raced, as he swung to the dapple grey And man and horse to the westward faced on the eve of an All Saints' Day.
He's laid his hand on his hunting horn and with his dying breath Has blown a blast to the blazing morn that would rouse the angel of death High in the cusp of the starry night he heard his grey hawk mew As out of the misty morning light his ghostly greyhounds flew.

OOC: Pfft, the very idea of Ayluin being any threat at all alone is laughable xD
--:::------::------------------->⛥<--------------------::------:::--- Where: At Home With: A drow Age: 23 Orientation: Bisexual Status: Talking with the new face Address: 1225 Pasadena --:::------::------------------->⛥<--------------------::------:::--- Ayluin wasn't moving right now. For some reason he felt like it was probably best to not suddenly walk up to the man, even though he only meant to be friendly. It was a little odd for the elf to feel like that, he never had a situation where he felt it wise to practice some restrain. He nodded when the other spoke about his attire. He didn't know much about drow due to their secretive ways, but he knew what matron meant. That said, even the eldest female elf in a community of elves was referred to as matron in his experiences. An honorary title, nothing more. But they were often treated with the greatest respect so the young man could understand the way the drow was thinking. "I see. It is definitely unusual, but you might discover a lot of things in Soleil can be extraordinary." he agreed.
Drow had always been a point of interest to Ayluin, pure curiosity most like, but this one was a lot different from those he had once met back home. Perhaps it was because everything here was a lot more advanced. It had taken the elf ages just to get used to what seemed the most common devices. He was all up to speed now though. Ayluin blinked a bit when he heard the drow call him moon elf. No one else ever got further than the conclusion of him being an elf. Still perhaps he shouldn't be surprised. It bugged the young man a little to be called that way though, even if he hid it well.
"My name is Ayluin, feel free to call me by my name." he spoke and smiled softly. He didn't feel any need to be cautious or careful while out here. Soleil was said to be a very safe place. And he always still had his shield as well which gave him more confidence to be open as well. "What plane?" he repeated with a slight hint of confusion in his voice as he frowned a bit trying to think of what this man might mean. But soon he just dismissed it and instead turned a bit and pointed towards to the West. "The continent where I came from is far across this sea. I took a ship to get here now about some weeks ago. It is called Odoraen." he replied, looking at the other, at least with the answer to where he came from.
He then turned back to the man fully. "I'm sure you would be free to visit and explore if you are willing to take the long ocean trip to get there." Ayluin added since drow might be rumored about even in Odoraen but not in a really bad way. Though soon they got to the reason why he never saw the other before. The elf did not remember a day where it was overcast grey, not as light and there had always been a bright sun in the sky. "That sounds about right if I consider the drow where I come from. I guess I could have guessed if I had thought about it a bit more." he replied with a gentle laugh. It made sense now really. Of course he would never have seen the drow before and of course the others he met would rarely meet them in the forest. If the light really was that bad to them.
"Well, I'm glad you can enjoy some of Soleil now. Isn't it completely uncomfortable to not be able to handle the sunlight here though? I would go mad inside all day." Ayluin didn't even want to imagine being inside all day. He kind of felt bad for the other being stuck inside all day long. On a tropical island no less. However these thoughts were replaced by a curiosity and eagerness when he heard about the island and it's forest. "We are allowed to go there? I thought it was a privately owned island and no one was allowed on. Or that is what I understood from the people I met in Soleil. How would one get there? Is there a ferry of sorts?" he asked curiously. Now he was eager to explore this forest. Once he knew how to get there, he could bring Rowan with him as well, they could explore together.
"Night never ending The weapons we bring are our souls You know, You know You know what it means to feel real So rise up, claim the sky We fight, We fight Night never ending."
Drizyrr♞Zaulyl
This elf was absolutely confusing! He had given Drizyrr his name, which usually was a sort of power play: informing a lesser of one's status in the hierarchy, but that typically required the house name and none had been given. He had heard tale of duels in which the opponents would introduce themselves so that each would know who they were about to kill or be killed by, but once more that usually included more than one name. And if he was going for an assassination, then it would be idiotic to give a name at all. Was it possible that this moon elf was genuinely willing to be amicable? It seemed farfetched, but it was the most logical explanation he had found yet. Seeing the fairy's obvious confusion over the question of from which plane did he originate definitely boosted Drizyrr's confidence: a wizard would know that answer easily, so it was unlikely the man before him was a wizard, and it felt nice to know something in a category with which he was not proficient. However, the answer he received shocked him, and made him question some of his assumptions. If he was from this universe's elven lands, did that mean the sub-races had evolved differently? Had the surface elves never betrayed the drow (that was how he was taught, but he did have reason to doubt the sincerity of the history he had learned.) Did elves all peacefully coexist here? That would certainly explain a great deal of things. "Ayluin, in...Odoraen, what has been the relation between the different elves? Do...do all types of elves get along?" He wasn't a "peace, love, and cosmic awareness" kind of person, but how incredible it would be if there was such a place where there had been no bad blood between the People. Of even greater portent, did that mean there was a whole community of drow who didn't always plot murders? Drow who were actually fairly decent people? He had thought himself one of the only ones, but perhaps he had just been in the wrong universe this whole time.
The disturbance of the earth-shattering news was dulled just a bit by Ayluin's reaction to the obvious. Yes, if he knew a thing about drow, it should have been obvious why he was rarely around, but he would not begrudge the revelation. He gave a slight smirk, the closest thing to a smile he had done this entire conversation. "I go out some during the day, I just require heavy clothes and very dark glasses. To you it might seem I miss much, but I do not find it to be the case. While you may enjoy getting burnt to a crisp in order to see the sights well, I can see them just as well at night. My people can see in the absolute darkness of the Underdark, you know, so a moonlit night is positively radiant." What was it with people and loving the day so much? His fiancée was the same way, though she was kind of a plant so that made more sense. But someone who did not require sunlight to survive being so drawn to it? It seemed absolutely preposterous. Contrary to Ayluin's enthusiasm, Drizyrr just gave a nonchalant shrug, "they sometimes have festivals on that island. And yes, it is decidedly a public space. I suppose you could try swimming or renting a boat, but there is a ferry that will take you across. Beyond the forest, towards the center of the island, are some foreboding parts, but the forest itself isn't too bad." Not that Ayluin would see anything half as magnificent as what he saw his first time there, but the boy seemed interested enough in nature that he would likely be entertained anyway. He smoothed back his soaked hair, thankful that Ayluin had stopped him somewhere fairly well sheltered by trees, though that would be a problem should there be any lightning. Still, somewhere actually dry would have been nice, if they were going to continue chatting.
"Long was the hour for the valiant knight that would ne'er be sick or slain Lonely the bower in the candle light with neither kith nor kin Storm clouds over the full moon raced, as he swung to the dapple grey And man and horse to the westward faced on the eve of an All Saints' Day.

--:::------::------------------->⛥<--------------------::------:::--- Where: Soleil Park With: A drow Age: 23 Orientation: Bisexual Status: Talking with the drow Address: 1225 Pasadena --:::------::------------------->⛥<--------------------::------:::--- He was a curious being wasn't he? This talk about planes. It made no sense to Ayluin. He was a Mage, but their people never spoke of planes so he never heard of it. The focus was always on his protective shield and his ability to grow plants from seeds using his Nature magic. Not that he was taught a lot of magic as it was supposed to be for guards and soldiers, not the crown prince as Ayluin's father had often reminded him. Yet the elf never could push away his thirst for more knowledge. About magic and the world outside the walls particularly. That was the whole reason he had made a run for it. Ayluin didn't want to end up locked behind walls. He felt much happier out here in Soleil now he thought about it.
But when the other spoke again, the elf looked back at them, shaken from his thoughts and tilted his head a bit as he heard the question. It was an unusual question, of course 'most' lived in peace. Though he couldn't say they never argued or fought. Not any place was like that maybe. Since he was to be the future king of Saela he knew all to well the history of Odoraen. And it was about as bloody as any other country he learned the history of. "Well...sadly I can't say that. Odoraen has not always been at peace. There have been a lot of fights in the history, even wars. The war between humans and elves raged for almost 300 years in history and it was a huge loss for both sides until they learned to live side by side. But last I was there no war was going on and between the elves has almost ever been peaceful, though the woodelves tend to get aggressively territorial still." Ayluin summed up a short summary of the history of Odoraen and grimaced a bit as he remembered the woodelves.
Among all their history was the bloodiest. They could kind of be compared to those viking people he heard about during his travels, minus the sailing. But that was not something he needed to say, besides it wasn't like the man asked him for a complete sum up of everything about Odoraen. "If you are curious about the drow however. Their people and mine have always lived peacefully together. We kind of share the love for the night, though in our case we mostly adore the full moon in all her glory. But now you mentioned that your people don't, I can suddenly understand why it was always such a struggle to meet with the drow, even for a nice swim in the spring at a meadow under the moonlit sky." Ayluin said and smiled.
"Even though I do like the warmth and sun here, I still prefer the moon." Ayluin stopped for a moment. Also because he was listening to what the other told him about the forest. "That really sounds great. What I wouldn't give to walk in a forest again. Perhaps even enjoy a mooncast night between the trees, if you are allowed there after sunset. Some parks I passed in my travels weren't." Ayluin replied. The foreboding part he didn't really worry about so far. Often things seen foreboding to others, were just adventurous to him, always guided by curiosity whenever he could reach the source of it. Before he could wonder about ferry hours though, the elf noted how the other smoothed his soaked hair and he blinked suddenly remembering it was raining and they were just standing here! "Oh my god, sorry. I completely forgot it was raining, I got caught up in our conversation!" he apologized, his hoodie sheltered him pretty well from the downpour. "Maybe I should let you get on with your run, or if you want to chat more maybe we can find a different place for it?" he asked, always ready to make more friends. So if this man was up for a visit to a cafe or something to warm and dry up, then Ayluin was all for.
"Night never ending The weapons we bring are our souls You know, You know You know what it means to feel real So rise up, claim the sky We fight, We fight Night never ending."
Drizyrr♞Zaulyl
Overt war was shunned amongst the drow: stealthy raids and covert wars between families were much more common, but he was familiar with true war as well. It would have been nigh impossible for a soldier his age to have never been involved in a full-out war. And hearing that it was against the humans, well, he had thought the fairies and humans got along well enough, but then again he could see how humans' haste and reckless ambition could clash with the patience and calculated stratagems of elves. The most surprising part of that war was that the humans could focus on a single task for that much time. News of the wood elves was absolutely shocking. Wood elves? Those hermits? How could they be causing problems? They just stuck to their little patches of forest and chased out poachers and the like. They were elusive, but they weren't particularly violent, at least none of the ones he had killed were. As if in response to the question he had not yet formulated, Ayluin continued on, elaborating upon the relationship between the moon elves of his land and the drow. He assumed at best there would be some sort of flimsy non-aggression pact between them after the drow had been bested in guerrilla combat. At any moment, the peace would end and more would die. However, he could never have been prepared to hear that the two got along. How the hell was that possible? This little lamb of an elf could not possibly have been evil, yet he was allied with some of the most evil creatures to have ever existed. Unless..."they are good?" He said more to himself than to Ayluin. He had heard whispered rumors of drow who had forsaken everything and gone to the light (sometimes literally), but for there to be an entire society of them? That sounded impossible.
Though if he looked at their conversation through the lens of someone who believed drow to be decent individuals, he could understand why he might come off as strange. They were operating under different assumptions and were from such radically different cultures...it was hard to believe that they were both elves. Perhaps his arm would be enough of an indicator of how his life had been? You wouldn't blame a man for being a little suspicious and slow to trust if he had lost his arm in combat, and Drizyrr was wise enough to know that his overall appearance suggested someone who had seen plenty of combat. Yes, that would be enough to explain things. No need to tell Ayluin that his world was completely different, that over there, practically every creature hated the drow and would kill one on sight. No need to mention that they sometimes raided the surface, pillaging and murdering everything in sight. Nope, no reason to paint such a bleak picture. "I like your world better. So much more peaceful. Alas, if you wanted to learn about drow, I would be a poor teacher: yours sound very different from the ones I have known." That was the understatement of the century if there ever was one.
"I went at night. So I assume you could. I don't believe I broke any rules in so doing." He went to the lake late at night that first time, and ended up staying until morning quite by accident. But if he hadn't have stayed longer than he should have, he might not have met Ceres, and he couldn't imagine life without her anymore. At Ayluin's sudden exclamation, Drizyrr couldn't help but wonder which god he was referring to? There were a ton of them, and several elven deities, so it was hard to narrow it down to only one possibility. Oh well, that probably wasn't the most important of questions. "I think it best that we adjourn elsewhere. I think I have been stationary too long to continue at present." And if he kept standing there much longer, all of his joints would start locking up. Old age was not worth the wisdom of experience.
"Long was the hour for the valiant knight that would ne'er be sick or slain Lonely the bower in the candle light with neither kith nor kin Storm clouds over the full moon raced, as he swung to the dapple grey And man and horse to the westward faced on the eve of an All Saints' Day.

--:::------::------------------->⛥<--------------------::------:::--- Where: Soleil Park With: A drow Age: 23 Orientation: Bisexual Status: Talking to the drow Address: 1225 Pasadena --:::------::------------------->⛥<--------------------::------:::--- Sadly, Ayluin couldn't paint a better picture to the man about Odoraen. He wasn't in the habit of lying and the island had known plenty of violent outbursts among the races across the centuries it existed. Granted, it wasn't a super old civilization yet. Ayluin could remember the history speaking of a rather new society. The only creatures that knew Odoraen before it had become what it was now were the oldest dragons. Still there was no need to linger on that now, if the drow was curious to the island, he would ask. At least that was Ayluin's assumption. It would seem though that his information had struck a cord of confusion. But that at least was mutual. The other man confused the elf just as much. Though in Ayluin's case it was about the planes and just some stuff they mentioned. Of course with his sharp hearing it wasn't hard to catch them speak about them being good and the male could only guess what the heck that meant.
Still when the other spoke again saying he liked Odoraen better, Ayluin could only smile a bit. He did miss his old home, but he didn't miss the responsibilities and enforced destiny he left behind when he left. Or perhaps the right way to call it was fled? "It's an island. Though I wouldn't be surprised if it is unknown. If you consider the age of the planet we are on, Odoraen is pretty fresh. Longest I read back was about 2,000 years. But the only one to ask about how it came to be would be the dragons and they don't come here. Nor are they always happy to entertain such curiosity." he spoke, hoping the man didn't feel to bad about not knowing his home of origin. It was actually for the best they didn't. Ayluin didn't need someone informing his father where he had gone and where he lived. If only by accident.
His smile turned to a surprised expression however when the drow mentioned he would be a bad teacher about the drow. The elf didn't think he really said anything to show it, but somehow they guessed that Ayluin was curious about the drow. were they really that radically different though? It made the elf wonder just what kind of a place this drow came from. Not a friendly one by the looks of his appearance. Unless his arm got ripped off in a horrendous accident. Still, it didn't matter to Ayluin how they looked. They seemed to be able to get along quite well and that was all he wished for really, to get along with people.
For the same reasons he wasn't sure how his invitation would be received by the other though. Perhaps they weren't at all inclined to join the elf somewhere else. But to his joy the man accepted. They could talk more in the comfort of some warm place. Though their way of talking about it puzzled Ayluin a bit. How could standing still for a bit cause one to not be able to continue? That said the young man didn't really expect the drow to be very old. Their appearance didn't betray their age, so it was easily overlooked. Yet their way of speaking was familiar to Ayluin. His father had the knack to use those words as well, Ayluin assumed it was old language, yet before his time. "That sounds like a plan then. Let's go somewhere dry." he agreed.
Easier said than done though, they were already pretty soaked and he didn't know much places in Uptown Soleil to stay somewhat nearby. "How about the library? It isn't far from here and it is dry and actually quite calm. Unless you prefer to have something warm to drink as well after this rain. Then we need to go a bit further away." the elf offered. He was open to go quite anywhere though. Now he was reminded that it was raining he noticed that he was quite drenched himself. He had been a little distracted so to say.
"Night never ending The weapons we bring are our souls You know, You know You know what it means to feel real So rise up, claim the sky We fight, We fight Night never ending."
Drizyrr♞Zaulyl
It didn't surprise him in the least that he had never heard of this place: he had only been on the planet, Earth he believed was the name, for about three months now. And all three of those months had been spent here on this island. He wasn't even sure if he could recall how many continents there were and their names, much less a mystical elven civilization thousands of leagues off shore. At least the dragons sounded the same: ancient, wise, and generally unapproachable unless you wanted to be an hors d'oeuvre. Not that he had ever met one, but he had heard about them. He was impressed though that a male knew so much about his homeland; perhaps he was a noble or supposed to be the nation's historian or something. That would seem logical."You are well-versed in your nation's history. Someone must have taken great care to teach you." He used to think he knew enough of his own nation's history, but what he was seeing in Soleil, although a completely different universe, made him doubt the sincerity of those ancient lessons. It was highly likely if not almost a guarantee that what he had been taught was an outright lie meant to breed hatred and a superiority complex.
Ayluin's surprise was perfectly justified. It would seem the two elves came from opposite worlds, though the physical features remained similar enough that they could recognize each other for what they were. He was loathe to tell him about the drow he had known, afraid that should Ayluin return home he might perceive innocent individuals in a new and distrusting light. He felt compelled to preserve this boy's innocence, possibly to make up for all of the innocence he had stolen away in the past. "Well, I can't tell you much about the society and such, but I think the physiology is the same, if any of that is of interest?"
Even if it was a further distance to walk, he would definitely prefer one location over the other. He had given up on learning anything at the library, not with how self-conscious he would get, so now he avoided the place whenever possible. "Perhaps the cafe then? I doubt the library would appreciate us dripping all over the place and potentially ruining their books. The cafe probably would also not care for the dripping, but at least it won't ruin anything over there." He also would have been tempted to hit up a bar, but he wasn't sure if Ayluin considered himself old enough to, or even was inclined to drink. For Drizyrr, it was about numbing the physical, but more importantly the psychological pain that infested him, to forget memories that were more like nightmares, and try to forget that for most of his life he had been nothing more than chattel. Besides, it would have been rude to turn down gifts, even if those gifts were more like protection payments. "I don't believe I have ever been, sounds more like something my fiancée would go to. Perhaps I will bring something back for her?" The statement had started out as something for Ayluin to hear, but it gradually morphed into him thinking aloud. Should anyone call him out on this, he would chalk it up to senility and you should respect your elders. He did, however, know the way, and he soon turned to lead the way, pausing only a microsecond as pain shot through his knee. His breath caught only barely, but a keen observer would likely notice. What wasn't too hard to notice was that he was walking a bit stiffly, and it would eventually take him quite a while to eventually smooth out his stride. He had no idea that Ayluin did not perceive his age, he sort of assumed that it was fairly obvious to an elf that he was old. Old and a rough lifestyle did not go well together at all.
"Long was the hour for the valiant knight that would ne'er be sick or slain Lonely the bower in the candle light with neither kith nor kin Storm clouds over the full moon raced, as he swung to the dapple grey And man and horse to the westward faced on the eve of an All Saints' Day.

--:::------::------------------->⛥<--------------------::------:::--- Where: Soleil Park With: A drow Age: 23 Orientation: Bisexual Status: Talking with the drow/Heading to Cafe Address: 1225 Pasadena --:::------::------------------->⛥<--------------------::------:::--- Ayluin startled a little bit when he heard the other's comment about his knowledge of Odoraen. Had he said to much? It really wouldn't be good if they found out his heritage. Not this man specifically, as they seemed friendly enough, but in general it was best that as few as possible knew that his father was a king. But it didn't seem like the other had guessed, so Ayluin relaxed and smiled a bit again. "They have taken hours and hours to teach me about Odoraen's history. But probably spent even more hours trying to find me outside." the elf replied and chuckled softly as he remembered just how much grey hair he probably had given his private tutor whenever he had made a run for it again. The male had often done a runner, but never this far.
The elf smiled and nodded. "If you are willing to teach, I'll be willing to learn. And you can ask questions too of course!" he replied, completely unaware of the other's inner struggle about the world of drow that had been spared Ayluin. Wasn't this how possible friendships started? Learning about each other and the elf was always a curious being, eager to learn about everything. For now he waited though, to hear what the drow would prefer to move the conversation to. Though when they spoke of them dripping and the library, Ayluin kind of wondered why he didn't consider that. Of course the librarian wouldn't at all be happy if they did so. "You are right, the cafe is probably best." he agreed and when the man took the lead, Ayluin followed close behind.
He listened as the other spoke about it being more for his fiancee but also sounded like he might be tempted to visit Odoraen. Who knew, they might. And they would be welcome as traveler. Ayluin noticed that the drow seemed to struggle a bit. To him they had not seemed much older than he was perhaps, but he might have been wrong. Still he felt it rude to mention it so he rested the case of age in his mind for now. Instead of hurrying or talking about it, the moon elf just let the other decide their pace and he followed suit. It would seem the man was in pain. Thanks to his magic studies, Ayluin had learned to observe well, since you also needed to when you were growing seeds with your magic. Lest the end result might be one huge fruit, bush or vegetable no one could really use. "Are you alright?" he asked as he picked up his pace a bit until he walked next to the drow. There wasn't much he could do of course, he wasn't a healer, but there were other ways to help out and make it easier if the man needed it.
"For a new beginning For a turnaround Our heads are spinning And we won't calm down We're a wall in motion Or a change is now walk in the park What comes around Goes around You better watch out We're the children of the dark
We're nothing like you, we're true and free We're nothing like you but you can't see We're nothing like you and all the rest We're nothing like you
We're the children of the dark"

He hated days off. Not that he was a workaholic or anything, but he needed the money, and the bookstore was his home but he couldn't loiter around there when he wasn't working. So he sort of had to just hang out in town and hope it wasn't storming a crap ton. Like it had been for the past forever. At least now it was only the occasional rain shower. With his normal selection of boots, black jeans, t-shirt, and camo jacket, he was warm enough to stroll around through the park, looking for his next target. He had snagged a couple bucks off of people walking by, but there weren't very many people out, for obvious reasons, and he didn't like taking too much from a single person. If you took too much at once, then people would know they had lost money and start trying to figure out where it had disappeared, if you took just a little, they might not notice. Besides, if a random guy you could tell didn't have much came walking in waving some big bucks around, anyone would be able to guess he had either stolen it or had stolen something and pawned it off for that much money. It would be nice to find a sucker though, someone he could really exploit for cash and maybe a bite to eat. He was doing a lot better than he had been, but living off of ramen was hard even on someone young and healthy like him. Plus, if he could get an additional steady source of income, he might finally be able to move up to the rank of rent-paying roommate. It would be hella nice to actually have a legit place to stay.

Ayluin had woken up quite early feeling slightly nervous about this blind date he was supposed to have later today. He had signed up himself, but now he got partnered up and actually had to kill some hours before it would actually happen the young man was suddenly feeling it come rather quickly. As such he decided to take a walk in the park before the planned meeting at Pearls and Petals. As always being among nature put him at ease, which was a direct result from growing up in a huge forest. Right now he was quite at ease as he enjoyed the fresh scents. The rain of the passed days had wiped the world clean and it was an empty canvas once more. That was something he did like about the rains.
The elf smiled and sat down at a nearby tree that fell over and could be used for a bench. He was still wearing jeans, sneakers and hoodies and would be until the warmth came back no doubt. The tree was slightly wet but not enough to be a problem for the elf. Ayluin was quite glad that the rain of the previous day hadn't ended him up in bed. Maybe his immunity was getting better. The spot he sat down on was one he had been using for quite a while now. He liked the view around and he knew the same cluster of pigeons and squirrels hung around it. It was off the path and more into the trees than most people would go. For some reason the animals here seemed fearful of people. It had taken the elf some time to win their trust but not very long since he could talk to them.
Sure enough it didn't take long for the animals to gather and the elf smiled. "Hello my little friends." he said softly as he put his hand in the front pocket of his hoodie and pulled out a loaf of fresh bread and a bag filled with pure nuts. He knew all to well that was also what they came for after all. It didn't bother Ayluin though, they all enjoyed this time together in the peaceful area. The moon elf crumbled the bread piece by piece before feeding it to the birds and gave the squirrels that visited the nuts which they ate by his side as if it was an everyday thing. And for them it was by now, if the weather allowed for it. When the storm was at it's peak, Ayluin had stayed inside. He loved this part of the day. It was relaxing to him and it reminded him a bit more of home as well. Despite his wanderlust and will to escape his father's excessive pursuit of his son's education, the elf did miss the forest itself at times and the animals in it.

Krotak would take to the air for short bouts to get a better view of the scene before reporting back to Sora Erik. He knew he was a service raven legally, and in his own mind he was a mentor and protector for the half-idiot, but he was still performing his job even if he wasn't always perched on Erik's shoulder. Once more he launched himself into the air from Erik's shoulder, and flew up above the trees to seek out targets or danger. As he moved towards the more densely wooded part of the park, he was quite sure he saw movement and a brightness that wasn't normally there. Swooping down to a mid-height branch, he watched the scene a bit more closely. It appeared there was an idiot (Krotak's preferred word for humanoid) giving away food to fat-tailed and winged rats. He could never understand why someone would give away food except to their mate or offspring (or his ward, in his case), but that was exactly what the idiot was doing. Maybe if I play things right, I can get some free chow too. If the stupid freaking rats can have some, I'm definitely worthy. He gently fluttered down right into the center of the group of winged rats and started grabbing some of the bread for himself. It wasn't as good as a hamburger, but it was infinitely better than the thin dried worm-like things that Erik usually ate. Using the sweetest voice he could muster up, he cawed "keep it coming, glow bug." Of course that was just cawing, so no one except for another raven or Erik would be able to understand him, right? Depending on how the glow bug reacted to a new guest, he might have to bring Erik over. Suckers really did seem to be born everyday.
Meanwhile, Erik was staying right where he had been when Krotak left, leaning back against a tree, shrugging a little more tightly into his jacket. "I swear if that bird is just pissing around..." he cursed under his breath, hoping without reason for hope that Krotak had come across a good score and was going to bring him in on it once he got all of the details.

As a personal rule he never brought old food or just anything with him like most people seemed to do. Instead he always brought as fresh as it could be and he went for animals' favorites. Of course he had an advantage purely because he could talk to them. After a moment the elf got surprised though by a new arrival. At first he startled a little as he hadn't expected a raven of all animals to be flying around here and nab the bread from his hand which he had been offering a pigeon. It didn't take long though before he chuckled a bit. "Are you hungry too?" he asked before breaking off a bit bigger part of the bread and offering it to the raven, after all they were bigger than a pigeon, so their apatite must be bigger right?
Though at first annoyed by the newcomer that stole their bread, the pigeons just flew a bit aside and one sat on the elf's shoulder. Since they weren't exactly thin, they were okay with sharing, nor would they be stupid enough to fight with a raven. Ayluin in the meanwhile gave the pigeons some pieces still too while the raven was eating his piece and handed the nearby squirrel a nut. When he heard the words of the bird though, Ayluin blinked a bit. "Glow Bug? Now what would make you come up with that?" he asked with a soft laugh as he broke off another piece and offered it to the raven. He had brought plenty and if he ran out he could always get more. His little gardening company he set up was working out rather well.
It was paying quite well too which Ayluin happily used to buy more and better food for his animal friends. It wasn't like he was poor after all. "Do you like the bread?" he asked, unaware the bird didn't expect him to be able to speak with him. Ayluin knew that raven's ate meat and such more than bread. So he wondered what brought them to eating bread. Perhaps they didn't get enough food? As he waited for the answer, the moon elf kept sharing the food between the animals, whether they preferred bread or nuts.
Oh my... Falling speechless as she arrived at what looked to be a park, Minata's eyes wandered around in amazement. To be within walking distance of something so beautiful made her smile. Gripping the strap of the bag slightly, she began to walk down the long pavement. Her eyes bounced from cherry blossom tree to cherry blossom tree, her smile unwavering as she watched the petals sway in the breeze and glide to the ground. Letting out a soft breath, her eyes soon moved to watch various animals she passed as she listened to them in the distance. This adventure was turning out great so far, she only hoped the other sights of the city would be as compelling as this place.
