too bad you don't like doing this... this is one of the greatest luxuries when yer on the road... coming into a town and finding out it has a well maintained bath house... heck... even iffin it has no bath house, spending a night at an inn which has bathing privileges... but then ye wouldn't know much about that would ye... says tam thoughtfully, closing his eyes and letting the heat soak in....

tam finally climbs out of the tub, drains it, then scrubs it clean, before going over to the towel rack and finding a large towel to wrap about himself... then he locates a comb and tries to comb out the tangles in his nearly waist length mop....

*He feels the tangles being combed out very quickly...when he looks in a mirror, he sees a cub running needle claws through his hair...the webs between the pads catching the hair that falls and acting as the back of a comb*

why thank you, kero... says tam sitting down on the floor so the cub can reach it all... he continues to work on the front while kero tends to the back... ma keeps asking me to get it cut and i keep telling her that i will... someday... he chuckles... she just doesn't understand me vanity i suppose... but i do so like it long.... even if it is a pain... ye might say it's me trademark...

tam puts down the comb and turns around, picking him up and hugging him... slow down... slow down... he laughs merrily... i didn't understand a thing ye said....

*Even when Kero slows down, he can't understand him...but he gets the gist of Kero just feeling like doing something nice for him...and he shouldn't cut his hair...it's pretty*

tam winks... well i think so too... he stand up puts kero on his shoulder and heads for the kitchen snugly wrapping the towel as he walks... ok... bedtime snack and then we hit the hay... figure of speech, kiddo... no hay to be found here... but i am a bit tired, so we'll catch some shut eye... ok? how about some ice cream.....

tam puts the cub on the counter and reaches for a couple of bowls.... what kind ye want he says, digging out a spoon... we've got mint... mint chocolate chip... peach... that must be me ma's... rocky road... and mocha.... hmmm that must be me ma's as well... it's got coffee in it... ahhh... here it is.. vanilla... virginal and so refreshing... now where are those strawberries i saw in here this afternoon... he digs into the fridge coming up with a bowl of fresh ripe strawberries and grins widely.... yummm

tam serves up some for himself and does the same... sometimes i think ice cream was one of man's most creative moments of invention... taking a few divergent items and whipping it into somethings as delightful as this... he holds up the bowl to the light and smiles... eat up kiddo... before i eat mine and yers as well... he winks to show he's only kidding and chows down on his own....

The scene skips ahead two years
*Kero and Tam are walking through a medieval forest, accompanied by a few of Tam's friends, Kero hopping alongside them. He has grown slightly, now cresting eighteen inches at the top of his head. He's in that willful stage, and is driving Tam absolutely bonkers...as is the case here, where he proves once again how fast he can dig...just as Tam is about to grab him...shoop...he's underground*
