"All first hand stuff... nothing second hand. So don't get yerself in a huff. They wanted to know all about their big brother, so I started telling them about yer years with me as bed time stories." laughs Ai with a wink to Emnast. "I think I managed to make it up to year three so far..." he teases.
Emnast chuckles deep in his throat, a low rumbling sound. "Actually, he's going backwards... figured he'd tell them the air raising stuff first to keep them in line..."
"Spoil sport..." grumbles Ai, but he is laughing as well.

*Kero looks over his Sira*
Hmmm...well, perhaps I simply need to tell Luna some stories about you then.

"Go ahead... just keep them PG." laughs Ai softly. "I've probably alluded to them already anyway."

As he suspected she was still fast asleep. Both he and Lyssan knew about dragons, being one themselves, even if he or the kitsune queen rarely went about as one. Considering this, he curls up next to the small black and wondering if that is why she took on that form when the spell backfired. They had never truly determined why she had taken that shape or why her mind had been so fragmented by the backlash, and that was a serious laspe on his part. Pondering this he allowed his body to sink into a peaceful calm, while his mind delved into the possibilities. Void mages rarely if ever truly slept. They really had no need to.

*Even living Void mages needed little slumber, and he thought long and hard, finally managing to piece together a plausible theory. Lyssan probably had taken that form because of the DNA contained inside the potion she had tasted. It had more than likely contaminated her, and the sheer amount of Voidic and Draconic magic required for such a potion had fragmented her personality. Chuckling to himself, Kero looked at Luna, finally realizing that she really was his daughter, concieved by accident with Lyssan. She carried his DNA inside herself, which was probably why, even though she was a black, she still was good. It also explained her penchant for mischief and getting into light trouble, as well as her incessant curiosity*

*as good an explanation as any- mixing potions with heavy magic is dicy at best and Austin was never very careful with his stuff, who knows what he had in that dang vial rolleyes *
The next morning she's still out cold, a small rumbling furnace curled up at his side, so he decides not to wake her and wanders down to breakfast. Lyssan is there as is Amestru, but there is no sign of Keva or Kai.
"Morning, sleepy head." laughs Lyssan motioning him over to where they sat near a roaring fire. "Our little trouble maker still asleep?"

*Kero nods, sitting down inside the fire, sighing as the heat caresses him*
Yeah, out cold.

Lyssan smiles as she watches him soak up the heat. "I was watching her eat last night. She must be going through a growth spurt. She packed on enough for three her size, much less two."
"So that's the problem. I was wondering about that." laughs Ame pouring Kero a large mug of fragrant tea. "When I saw how much she was eating I thought maybe it's because her body was a construct."
"Nope... she's a 100% fully functional living breathing four legged flying reptillion." replies Lyssan with a grin. "Dipping into the spring of life tends to do that with a spell ye know. Not actually sure of how old ye'd say she was... She's definitely on the young side but far older than some of our fosterlings were."

Lyssan nods. "Her speech is still off, but her thinking patterns are definitely maturing. She was far older than Kero when last he slipped."
Amestru sighs. "Ye still doing that? I thought we managed to lock ye into an older form for those transformations. What happened?"

*Kero chuckles*
I still have to shift down from time to time, to recharge my magical core itself. Less often, only once every 125,000 years, but I still have to do it.

Amestru frowns. "How on earth do ye keep yer time line straight then? I'd go bonkers trying to figure it out. Wait a minute aren't most voidic mages a little off their rocker?"
"Ame..." sighs Lyssan giving him a poke in the ribs.
The old wolf has the grace to look embarrassed. "Present company excluded... good thing yer running the show back there."
