What the knight said made Arron tilt his head some, confused. He frowned slightly & looked at Talbot before looking back at her saying, "...Th-Thank you Ma'am..?" He heard what she had said, but he chose to not ask for his own sake.

"Cherise." the knight replied, finally introducing herself. Her expression suddenly became serious, and she leaned closer to Arron. "Listen, if he loses the fight with the King, which he probably will, and he survives, I'll help you both escape. He's already been a slave once, he doesn't need to go through that again." she whispered.

"Th-Thank you Ms. Ch-Cherise... b-but...Th-That would brand y-you as a-a traitor..." he whispered back to Cherise. There was an increasingly amount of worry in his voice. Arron had not fully thought about how the pair would be leaving the kingdom, if they were allowed to leave at all. The Lythcol mechanic looked over at Talbot again. "T-Talbot... th-the king never said y-you had to de-defeat him. Only th-that he wanted to see how h-hard you want to end th-this war & th-that he wanted to cross weapons with you. I-I think... he wants you to-to prove your will & de-determination." he said with a small smile on his face.

Cherise went silent for a moment to think about what Arron said.Talbot looked over for a moment, then frowned, looking away. "That may be so, but if the rules still apply as they did before, even if I survive, I'll be a slave once more. Not to as cruel a master as before, but I will still be under someone's control." he explained quietly and plainly. "I will do my very best. It's all I'm able to do."

Talbot's response made Arron smile tiredly. Regardless of all the battles, war & shortcomings that the pair had faced. Talbot was still Talbot, if only a little more stubborn at times in the mechanic's eyes. "I-I know you will do your best... & I won't let you be-become a-a slave again. I promise." he said, "Even if that m-means storming th-the castle."

"I would lose my honour as a knight if I didn't uphold my side of the deal. I wouldn't feel right if I broke my word." Talbot said, frowning. He hated the idea of being a slave again more than anything, but all he truly had was his honour as a knight, even if he felt he didn't deserve it.

Arron frowned, only to change it to a small smile. "You-You may have h-h-honor, but I'm no-no knight. I-I don't have any honor... & I-I'm very... v-very st-stubborn..." he said. The young man was not going to lose his friend after all that they had been through together. However, the young man knew that Talbot was just as stubborn as he was.

"If stubbornness prevents my death, then I shall gladly cling to it myself until I can no longer fight." Talbot responded, glancing at his sword, then looking back at Arron. "I doubt I will be successful. That seems highly unlikely, especially considering my current health. But, I've beaten impossible situations before, so I'll do my very best again."

"I-I know you will." said Arron quietly looking up at his friend. The mechanic was also trying to remove a boot. The boot was firmly stuck on his foot, thanks to them not fitting well. It was slightly comical to watch this happening during a serious conversation.
"...Ms. Ch-Cherise... d-does the king have an-any weaknesses?" asked Arron.

Talbot tried not to laugh upon noticing this.Cherise glances over, jolted out of her thoughts. "Huh? Oh. Nope. He's a tank." she stated bluntly.

Hearing the lady knight's answer made him frown. "If... If I-I had some of-of my tech I-I could help..." he said, still tugging on the boot, "I-I was put under a-a spell... th-they aren't pl-playing fair as it-it is. We-We should level th-that playing f-field."

"I'd like to battle with the king on his terms. If I'm able to hold my own, even for a little while, I'm hoping it will show the king the might of the white kingdom, and that we are just as honourable as the people here. If I'm unable to win the battle, at least I want to try to end this war." Talbot responded."So noble. You're a lucky guy, Arron." Cherise said, smiling with a thumbs up.

Arron nodded & was about to reply to Talbot until Cherise spoke up. He looked at her confused & asked, "...L-Lucky guy..? ...Do you..." The thought of the what she meant ran through his head & made him blush very badly.

"Of course! And I'm sure you two will be happy together after all of this is over. I mean, even if he's made into a slave again, you can always visit him, right?" Cherise said, letting her imagination run right out of her mouth. "It wouldn't be ideal, but there's appeal to it in its own way I guess."Talbot turned bright red, and was absolutely speechless.

The mechanic quickly looked at Talbot, just as red in the face as him. His counterpart was laughing very hard in his head, but he ignored him.
"I love this girl! Can we take her along on the next adventure?" asked Lyth, still laughing.
"...Miss... I-I'm... al-already... be-betrothed..." he managed to stammer out.
