I'm going to leave soon to go buy all the Sweet-Sixteen Hostess Donuts I can at Walmart and/or Publix haha cat_sweatdrop You mean before they are gone forever? I read that Hostess is closing down because of the strike. I think it's a shame after 100yrs!

mamarita II Lioness II ★★☆Sorry, I'm honestly not really paying attention. How rude of me sweatdrop It's been a stressful day, and I'm going back and forth between the computer and the kitchen trying to get dinner ready, and doing everything I can NOT to chug this bottle of wine, because that's never the answer... But the good news is, it's the weekend and I have homemade pretzel dough waiting to be baked later tonight. "Live each day as if you're the protagonist of the Earth." You never chug wine- worst kind of hangover you can get! Making pretzels sounds great. And weekends are always nice... Are you getting ready for Thanksgiving next week? I love that holiday. I love making the turkey dinner and having people over. It's stressful for some people but not for me. I have it all worked out and if you plan ahead how to make everything, it's great! Oh I know, but after the day I've had, it's hard to resist. I'm really hoping the pretzels are good. My sister made the dough, and supposedly they're even better than the soft pretzels at the mall, which I absolutely love. I'm going to my other sister's for Thanksgiving next week. It'll be her first time hosting it, and the whole family will be there, so I'm excited about that. I'm making the pumpkin pie and some pumpkin bread this year. Hopefully next year I'll be a position to host it myself.

(that's what sisters do you know lol) And good luck with the pretzels..Are you going to honey dip them like they do at Auntie Annes?

We usually do a lot of the day-of cooking together, but everyone brings a side dish or dessert that can be made ahead of time as well. As for the pretzels, my sister gave me a few different 'finishes' to try. One of them is honey dipped, but I tend to like plain salted the best, so we'll see. Does your family have any fun/unique Thanksgiving traditions?

Does your family have any fun/unique Thanksgiving traditions? When my mom was alive, we celebrated her birthday on Thanksgiving, regardless of the date because she was born on Thanksgiving. Then, after my little sister got married, we all used to go to my brother-in-law's cousin's house for a mixed family Thanksgiving- it's a huge 40person thing. But this year, my daughter decided that she wants to start her own Thanksgiving in the new house, plus the fact we now live 2.5hrs away from the rest of the big family. So, it's my daughter, me, the son-in-law(to be) and their friends that have no family here in Columbus. It's going to be really nice! My mother always insisted that no one was to be alone on Thanksgiving, so that's how we are too!
