The King grinned, then started to laugh, covering half of his face while he leaned back in his chair. His laughter was genuine, but seemed almost mocking as well. When he finished, he stood, and glanced down at Talbot and Arron, then began to clap. "The slave has proven himself a knight, has he? Maybe a knight of the white kingdom..."The crowd laughed and cheered in agreement, mocking the white kingdom themselves. His usual grin was spread across his face as his golden eyes flashed deviously. "Shall we give him a real challenge then?" he asked the crowd. They responded with a cheer."Shall we see how hard he's willing to try to end this war?"They cheered even louder."Men, have him patched up. I'd like to cross weapons with him myself." with that, he chuckled and walked off.Two knights walked over and started to escort Arron and Talbot inside. Talbot walked on his own, while the knights helped Arron along themselves. There was no expression on Talbot's face as he walked, so it wasn't clear what he was thinking.

The mechanic was pulling off bits of the armor & tossing it aside as he stumbled slightly after his friend. Arron was not used to any of this & it was affecting him. Talbot could see the horrified expression he had on his face. "...T-Talbot..." he mumbled as they walked, "...I-I'm... s-so... sorry..." He felt horrible for not being able to overpower the Bishop, causing him to hurt the knight.

Once they were out of sight of the crowd, Talbot put his hands on Arron's shoulders and looked him in the eyes with strength he'd only shown briefly before. "These injuries are nothing. I've had much worse. I'm more worried for your sake than for mine." his expression became soft and he smiled gently, hugging Arron afterwards. "I have been brave up until this point because of your help. Thank you. For now, please rest."Knight from before began to ship the two of them hardcore.

Nodding, Arron gently hugged his friend back. He was shaking from adrenaline & shock regardless of Talbot's words. When the young man let go, he had fat tears rolling down his cheeks. His body was slowly crashing, anyone could see it. Wiping his eyes, he sputtered, "I-I'll g-go rest... S-Sorry... Y-You knock th-that c-crazy k-king fl-flat o-okay?" He was unaware of the knight shipping Talbot & Arron.

"I'll be sure to do my very best." Talbot responded. He was almost positive he would not be able to defeat the king, so he made no attempt to prove his confidence. Instead, he let himself be led to a chair where they began to tidy him up and patch his injuries with various bandages."If you want, you can stick around a bit longer with him. I'll get you a nice seat when the battle starts so you can watch." the knight from before said to Arron with a pleasant smile. Her ulterior motives were not made obvious.

Looking over at the knight, Arron nodded. not catching on to any motive besides possible kindness. "Th-Thank you... I-I appreciate th-that Ma'am..." he said tiredly, leaning against a wall & slowly sliding down into a sitting position, "...M-May I-I have some w-water?" The mechanic felt very out of place. He had experienced many things while traveling with Talbot, but the arena battle had truly jarred him to his core. Fighting with guns & technology, he knew & knew fairly well. Also Arron could fight with fists thanks to a few years of boxing when he was younger, but swords were more personal than any of that. Sitting down, gave him a few moments to stare into space & collect his thoughts.

Talbot glanced over at Arron, truly worried for his friend. He knew the effect war and these kinds of battle had on people. It was his life, up until he was forced into slavery. Still, worrying was the last thing he felt he needed to do at that point in time. He was about to face the black king in battle. In all his reign, the black king had never been defeated by a lower ranking warrior. Certainly, the white king and queen could hold their own against him well enough, but a decisive win wasn't come to in all their battles. This was a fight he couldn't win.The knight leaned against the wall by Arron, glancing between him and Talbot every now and then, but not saying anything.

Arron was worried as well for the next fight. However, he was trying to sound confident that Talbot would win or at least prove his worth for to the Black King, so Talbot would feel better. It did not take long before the mechanic was seeing the occasional glance from the lady knight. This made Arron give her a confused look.

"So, um.. how did the two of you meet, if you don't mind me asking?" the knight questioned, trying to be nonchalant about it. She braided and unbraided a strand of hair to keep herself visibly occupied.

"Uh..." he started to say before looking at Talbot, "...I-I was walking in the woods... & st-stumbled across th-this... mansion..? Es-Estate..? T-Talbot was be-being held prisoner th-there..." The memory of Talbot's attire upon that first meeting made him visibly blush. Arron didn't know how much he should tell the knight & glanced at his friend for reassurance.

Talbot looked over curiously and caught what Arron was saying before he noticed his friend blushing, which in turn caused him to blush and look away. Their meeting was still very fresh in his mind. It was strange to imagine that it wasn't so long ago that he was a slave, cowering behind a green house with hardly anything to cover his body."Really? The king mentioned he was a slave. So he must have been in a pretty tough situation when you found him..." she prodded on, imagining a scene where a chained Talbot was carried away on a white horse by a shirtless and glistening Arron. "What was his Master like? Some kind of cold, thankless businessman?"

The question made him shake his head in response. "Sh-She was a-a... d-demon of... Uh..." said Arron, the whole thought of the thing made his blush deepen, "...r-risque... n-nature... Any-Anyway, if th-the war c-continued be-between the White & th-the Black K-Kingdom she-she c-could live forever..." The mechanic was leaving out certain parts about his counterpart & the fact he was alien to the planet for his own sake.

The woman's eyes widened when she heard the word "risqué", and suddenly the scene in her head changed entirely. Things were getting... far too steamy to describe. Her cheeks gained a blush to them at the thought of it, but the whole story just made the ship stronger. She cleared her throat and shook her head. "My, how... terrible! To think someone would use the war for such gains. And to think someone would use a noble white knight for such... questionable things."Talbot covered his face with both hands.

"T-Talbot was the one to strike her down." he explained, quickly changing gears on the story, "I'd h-had never seen th-that level of sw-swordsmanship be-before... I-I don't... remember wh-what really h-happened immediately after th-the fight th-though..." He frowned remembering the stab wound from the Mistress's dagger. There was still a light scar on his chest to go with the many he had received over the years.

The possibilities of role reversal became apparent with this sudden addition to the story. All this time, Talbot had been the one being rescued, when suddenly, it was Arron's turn to be the damsel in distress. And then, with a final slash of his sword, the Mistress was slain, and Talbot took a stuttering Arron into his arms, pulling him close in a passionate kiss~ She day-dreamed for a moment, going further in her mind about all of the romantic events that didn't actually happen. "Hmm.. Talron or Arbot?" she mumbled to herself before giving Arron a thumbs up, "you two have my full support!"
