—Aaah!
Everyone nearby would hear the sudden scare on Chiharu voice as she slides toward the water.
She was already holding her breath when she managed to regain balance at the edge of the hot spring.
For a moment she is silent, watching the water surface.
(rolled 26. Can edit the post if you like something else to happen)

The man would wince when Tsuyoshi would turn and try to appeal to him in a sympathetic way. "We're being watched and now they probably think I've already told you, samurai-sama. The moment where I could receive a quick death has now passed. Please, you now must do so in anger, as if I said something insulting. You cannot spare another moment. Please, samurai-sama. Please."

You manage to retain balance! You teeter on the edge of the spring, and in the reflection, you see the faint traces of your friendly kami behind you. Was this a playful prank of being pushed, or was this a retributive act from Ebisu? Hard to tell.
Your air kami whizzes off though, the sound of child-like laughter on the wind that only you can hear, fading as it quickly distances itself from you.

She grumbles at the kami, then laughs and smile while it fades. Chiharu is more condescending than she should with pranks.
Her eyes goes back to the reflection. Thinking of Ebisu, the last time she was on a Ebisu temple was, to say the least, a disaster. For a shugenja, she had more spiritual problems than would be recommended.
"How can I help others like this...having a Fortune against me and unable to control a childsh air kami?"
The path of the Kami, the Celestial Order, was a tough one.

Tsuyoshi blinked in surprise, taken aback for but a moment. And then quickly grabbed the bandit man by his collar, shoving him back several steps away from the horse by main force.
"Then you have to tell me something, quickly, so I can-" as he shoved him back before hauling him up so he could drop him, to his knees if he wasn't fighting back. If he thought they were being watched right now, it should certainly look enough like action taken in anger, as he followed that by drawing his sword-
Hoping the man could give him a name, a hint, something in those few seconds that would give him direction to hunt or to watch for danger from, so he would have justification to execute him now. It was going to look quite strange if he still refused to provide any aid, and he had to stay his hand.

Perhaps too late to be directly engaged in the instance, but can at least be close enough to hop in after the fact for Character! Ayame would be sweeping one of the pathways nearby clean when she heard the scream followed by a loud splash, and nearly jump out of her skin before she thought to come running.
"Doji-san!? A-are you okay??" she called out, before rounding the bend and seeing the Crane still standing and relatively dry. "Oohkami, you scared me. What happened?"

The man would not fight back (he was far too injured to even do so; he wouldn't be able to walk quite yet so what had been likely was that you had to carry him bound over the horse's back), so you would drop him and he would land on his knees, falling forward into the dirt of the road. And you would draw your katana.
He would not say anything (although the wind could have been knocked out of him). What do you do?

—Please don't worry, this one is fine. I guess I slipped... - the steps one more step away from the hot spring, taking a peek at the reflex on the surface of the water again.

Tsuyoshi stepped toward the bandit, putting the tip of the katana under his chin, trying to focus on keeping his face and body language as much full of anger as he could manage, even while he spoke to the bandit again. "If you don't have a name, give me something to find them, or the ones that will need protecting from them. Please, quickly," he leveled the katana to the other man's neck and then pulled it back, preparing to strike. "I must protect Miya-sama, but give me a means to protect the others as well and I shall."
((Just let me know if a sincerity roll for the bandit, or additional acting for whomever might be watching, is needed.))

"That was an awfully loud splash for a slip. Are you sure all is well? Do be careful, there's no telling what stones the storm has dislodged." she responded worriedly, lips pursing but not wanting to press the matter too much. Instead she elected to start sweeping again within eyesight of her wayward companion.

Tsuyoshi pushed out a breath, still trying to keep his face and posture as hardened and angry as possible, lifting his sword above his head-
And then, before he could question himself or do anything more, he struck, hard and straight downward toward the man's neck, trying to do it in a single stroke. It might have been but a peasant, and a criminal, but a level of uneasiness followed the strike, cutting down a helpless and non-resistant (not physically resistant anyway) man. He looked at him a moment, reminding himself why. What he'd been told, both about why he'd done what he'd done, implicitly if not explicitly, and the consequences if he had not- before working himself into this corner.
He watched a moment, even as his stomach felt slightly unsettled, hoping it would not need a second strike.
((Rolls for attack and damage in OOC. Respectively: 36 vs ATN+10, 17 Damage))

There was a few seconds as the two men's eyes would stay locked. The bandit assassin man seemed to recognize the willingness to commit, and the tensing of muscles prior to the incoming strike.
"Shiori-" he'd say, closing his eyes, and just like that, it was over. The yellow bandana around his face would grow red from the pooling blood.
Tsuyoshi, give me a Lore: Heraldry roll.

—Thank you for your concern, Miya-sama. I'm going to be more careful. The winds and the storm may have changed the place a bit.
Chirahu would look around, trying to follow the direction where the laughter of the kami faded, in an attempt to follow her.

You have no idea who Shiori is.
As far as you can tell, you are now the only person on this road. Miya-sama's horse stares at you judging you for your action with scrupulous eyes.
You were about 1/4 the way to Kyuden Doji, but now you don't have a prisoner to deliver. You do have a corpse along the road, albeit a lesser traveled one. Assuming you don't do anything that will further detract from meeting up with Miya Ayame once more (it will be a day or two), let me know what you now want to accomplish before meeting up with her.

Ayame, you see Chiharu set down the net she wa using to clean leaves from the water and wander off.
Chiharu, you're definitely walking away from the hot springs. They are upon a large plateau, though not at the peak. The land descends into a very narrow valley then quickly ascends several hundred feat to a peak. Near the edge here is a browned grassy knoll.
You've caught up with your KFF (kami friend forever), and it seems to be milling about here. Perhaps enjoying the view?

The shugenja would take her time to appreciate the view, for a moment the task she had in hands disappeared from her mind and, if it wasn't Ebisu related she would likely never resume the task.
She took a deep breath, 'tasting' the air after the rain while watching knoll. She was slightly afraid to approach the edge this time.
Then she realised she was missing the point of her task...again:
—Oh, you are distracting me again... Why don't you help us clean the leaves near the hot springs?
After a while the miya would see the, rather erratic, shugenja returning to grab her net and resume her task.
