Well, technically even 4e Sehanine is the Neutral/Unaligned goddess of thieves. Generally not chaotic evil thieves, but most of the not horribly evil thieves pray to Sehanine.

You can't just post that the party followed you around for an hour as that's dictating our actions for us, especially if you are just leading us in circles. I can tell you right now Ambra wouldn't even follow you in the first place without a discussion as to why. Also, your assuming that you heard Ambra whispering to the soldiers, which the dm never told you that you did.

I would say no, since you made it a point to be muttering the entire time. I imagine it would be exceedingly difficult to hear a whispered conversation about... what, 20' away, while making it a point to audibly ramble incoherently.

As a roleplaying standpoint, I always assume I cannot hear a whispered conversation, because that's the entire point of whispered conversations. If I'm playing a character who is really really interested in hearing it, and there's no audible noise to drown it out between them and me, I could try a perception check (there's a DC for it listed under Perception in the skills section), or I could always try Stealth to get right up in their business without their noticing (but pretty impossible if they're already aware of me; that's more useful for a character already in the middle of infiltrating).

Regardless, no, you didn't hear, and your time to do something about that has passed.
