((Seems best...well...maybe not best but a tad better, best thing to do is this...)
Four days later Odessa awoke, yawning and stretching she was greeted by a beautiful sunny day, at least that was nice to wake up to, looking around her she noticed no one though Electra was beside her asleep with a blanket over her, she stayed where she was and just snuggled against her sister deciding to let her sleep as long as she could, closing her eyes again just to think or, if she did, sleep a little some more.

((I was going to have Gersif sleep for days in my last post but I wasn't sure how long you planned on having Odessa sleep razz ))
Gersif had slept for a full day not nearly as long as Odessa but really long for him. He was used to keeping on the move never sleeping long and never stopping. It had always been safer that way, this was the longest he had ever slept a combination of exhaustion and a feeling of safety here. After waking he had gone on his walks even taking Oliver when he wanted to join or casting his runes. He never wandered far though, visiting her parents and even Thane and Sayako he always made sure there was someone watching over her.
When she finally woke he was just returning from a refreshing walk. He had caught a glimpse of her waking before settling down again so as he entered the cave he said softly so as to not wake Electra "Morning sleepy head" he teased. "You gave us all quite a scare" a warm welcoming smile. He wasn't sure if she had fallen asleep again but he kinda doubted it, it had been four days after all, he kept glancing over for signs of movement just in case, he was getting some left over food from their picnic, it was almost gone now everyone having checked in on Odessa from time to time and eating some here and there "you hungry?"

((That isn't good for him, he NEEDS to be awake, he can't just sleep! Besides, it would of been boring if we let that happen so this seemed better. XD))
Odessa kept her eyes closed, cuddled against her sister a little more, just like old times and stayed there for a few moments before nodded "I am" she said quietly "and I am terribly sorry I need to learn to slow down I guess..." she said, taking note of what was being said and yet, in her heart of hearts, she never would, like she was going to stop and think about the consequences when some poor little woodland creature or even a kitsu needed help, whatever, she would rather gnaw off her own leg before she let that happen. Odessa carefully got up so her sister didn't wake and stretched "I will be back, just make sure breakfast is ready when I get back" she said, making sure the blanket was over her sister, giving her a small kiss before running out and running straight over to the lake and dived straight into it, swimming down to the bottom of deepest part of the lake before swimming back up to the top for air, she SO needed this.

Gersif suppressed a laugh which came out as a snort instead when Odessa mentioned slowing down, she would have done so a long time ago if she ever planned on it and he had a feeling that big heart of her's was too big to let her. She was one of those kitsu who would throw themselves off a ledge to their own death if they thought it would help another, he wasn't quite so extreme, who would help them after your dead? Oh well no changing her now, she was who she was.. perhaps they would rub off on each other.
He nodded to acknowledge her request for breakfast and set aside a plate for her. He filled it generously, he had watched her eat at the picnic four days ago and she had eaten a lot then, now she was bound to be famished... who knew if they even had enough food to satisfy her? He quirked an eyebrow at the spot he had last spotted Odessa. Oh well if they needed more they could get it. He had wanted to warn her of the muddy areas that still remained in the shade, it had rained earlier and though the sun had dried what it could reach there were still some soupy spots but she had left too quickly for him to get a word out. A shrug, she'd find out eventually or it wouldn't matter.

After about half an hour Odessa started back to the cave, dodging any and all muddy areas as best as she could, that swim was just what she needed but now she needed food, she was starving but thankfully she still had the right spot to still have quick and easy access to the lake "I'm back" she said as she arrived back to the cave, having forgotten about her sister "oopps" she said as she saw her sister stir but not wake up "bad thing to do" she said as she smiled at Gersif "anywho" she said quietly "how long have I been asleep?" She asked curiously, to her it just felt like a day or something tu given how hungry she was it couldn't of been just a day surely.

"Four days" his eyes drifted to Electra watching her sleep "She's been very worried about you. I doubt she's left your side once." He handed her her plate of food. "Sorry this is the last of the picnic food everyone's been taking turns watching you so it went fast." He shrugged at his apology. Not much could be done about it anyway. Then he realized why she looked funny, she was wet making her look quite thin. "How was the lake?" He was stalling and he knew it he didn't want to bring up the subject of Morpheus and Calliope, their ghosts and crossing them over.

Four days!? Yeeeah, pushing herself may have been a bad thing...oh well, what could she do? can't help how she is "she has?" She said as she smiled softly at her little sister, she could be a real brat at times but really, she was the greatest little sister a girl could ever ask for, she would have to make it up to her soon. "I will do something special for her soon" she said as she looked at the food "the lake was great! I always go for a swim first thing in the morning, one of the reasons I picked this spot, it was so nice and close to the lake" she said as she sat down to breakfast "and thats fine, it had to be eaten anyway" she said, wanting to ignore the Morpheus/Calliope thing at the moment, at least till after breakfast.
"I take it" she said taking a bite out of the nearest thing she could get to "Oliver has been a good boy? Sayako has him?" Obviously she was worried about him but knew not to worry too much about Oliver, he would of been with either her parents or Thane and/or Sayako if he wasn't here, it was the only places he would be able to go...well, he was also a wanderer but still, these days it was a little different.

Gersif nodded eating his own small meal, "He's been great, at Sayako's now but he's hung out here a great deal, he's worried about you too, doesn't want to lose you again." He glanced outside at the trees and the sunlight before continuing on"We've kept him busy though to keep his mind off of it." With another bite of his food he kept an eye on Odessa out of the corner of his eye for her reaction. His plate was nearly empty now and he had little he could think of to say he stood giving his back a long pleasant stretch his back popping in a few places as he stalled for time. "Would you like to go and see him? I'm sure everyone will be glad to see you're alright." He smiled warmly.

Odessa sighed "I will make it up to him" she said stifling a yawn as she ate some more of your breakfast "and thank you, it was best he did keep his mind off things, poor thing, at least he had the others to help with that" she said as she nodded "yes, after breakfast lets go see them" she said, hoping they wouldn't be too upset with her.
Electra woke up moments later and stretched, rolling over she noticed her sister was awake "Dessa!!" She said as she jumpped off the bed and ran over to her, pouncing on her and cuddling her "mom said you would be awake today, thankfully she was right!" She said as she nuzzled her sister.
"When is our mother ever wrong?" She said giggling as she cuddled her sister back "Electra, I am sorry for worrying you so much" she said sincerly to her little sister "please forgive me?" She asked as he licked her sisters cheek.
"Don't worry about it, by now it is all to common for you to do this, I am just pleased you are alright" she said as she knew their mother was going to want to kill her.
"And I guess I am going to be killed by mom?"
"Yep, but since when is that anything different?" She said as she got off her sister "I will be back, I will just go tell the others" she said as she and the others had been planning something for the past three days "though, can I please have your necklaces? Don't worry, I promise! They will be taken care of" she said, knowing that if this plan was to work it meant nothing to interupt them and that meant no necklaces, a day without them will do the two good.
Odessa looked at her sister and slowly shook her head "I...I can't, I am sorry Ele but this is just something I just can't give up" she said looking down at the necklace around her neck.
Morpheus sighed "that ring is partly what got her in trouble in the first place..."
"Yes but for the few days we have known her and heard stories about her we both know she is dedicated to follow this through but she NEEDS to give up that ring, just for today, it would do her well to get rid of it from around her neck" she said as she looked at Electra "Electra, sweetheart, please do whatever you can to get those necklaces" she said to her, hoping she would be able to talk her sister into giving it up.
Electra listened to Calliope and Morpheus and then carried on urging her sister to give up the necklace "please Dessa, I need them for Thane and Sayako, they want to have a look at them one last time" she said, knowing that was a lame excuse but it was the first thing she could think of "you are going to have them till God knows when, the least you can do is let Thane and Sayako have one last look at them" she said, seeing Odessa sigh and nod.
"Alright, alright, I give" she said, her sister had a point, the least she could do is let Thane and Sayako have one last look at them "just be careful of them" she said as she took it off and placed it around her sisters neck.
"Thank you! I will" she said, finding it hard her sister actually fell for such a lame excuse but meh, it worked, that was all that mattered "Mr Gersif?" She said, looking at him, hoping he would give his up also.

Gersif gave her a look that very clearly said 'don't think I believe you for one second and if anything happens to these rings it's coming out of your hide' but he handed it over, clearly there was plotting going on and he wasn't sure he liked it but he trusted Electra. She had a good heart and was very respectful so he trusted her to respect the rings and what they represented. He hoped too that she had gotten to know him well enough in the past four days that she realized he wouldn't actually hurt her but she would get sorely talked to if anything did happen. "Please be careful, they've survived this long and through some horrible times, it would be a shame for something to happen to them now." He hoped an extra heaping of guilt would ensure their safe return.
The loss of the ring on his neck seemed strange it's weight no longer pulling at him he felt lighter, he hadn't realized how heavy it had felt until it was gone. He stretched his neck left then right trying to get use to the sensation. "I feel naked" he frowned. Funny, he thought, he'd only had the ring for roughly five days and he already felt naked without it. He wasn't sure he liked that... attachment to physical things was always bad in his experience, things could be taken away and a hole left in a soul.... no never good to be so attached. Even his runes.. he could make new ones and they would work as well, possibly better, only reason he held onto his was because they were the one thing he had of any family member and it would.. it would leave a hole if lost. His frown deepened. He didn't want to lose anymore and gaining anything ran that risk. He sighed. He wanted a new life, a new life required risks... it would take getting use to.

"Thank you!" She said as she placed the ring around her neck, taking note of the look but pushed it to the back of her mind, the rings were going back to the ones who originally had them after Morpheus and Calliope did, they were not ones to do anything to the rings their best friends had originally had "they will be taken REALLY good care of, unless you are now saying that Thane and Sayako can't be trusted" she said teasingly as she winked at him and ran out of the cave "see you guys later" she called as she ran off to Sayako's cave where the others were.
Odessa watched her sister go and looked back to Gersif "now what was that about?" She asked curiously yet rhetorically and shrugged as she finished off her breakfast "and here I am glad to be rid of it, don't get me wrong, I will be pleased if I can get it back but look at what has happened since I had it? I will just be glad to get rid of it just for a day, might be nice to go back to when I didn't have it" she said with a sigh, hoping he didn't think of her as a bad kitsu. Odessa didn't mean to it was just a big responsibility she was going to be taking on for the rest of Oliver's life and hers, having one last day without the rings would be nice given what happened when she first received it.

Electra ran all the way to the others who were relaxing by the lake, only one who wasn't there was Apollo, he had decided to take Oliver off to see something so it was just the rest of them, she had started to become rather friendly with Thane and Sayako, they were two really awesome Kitsus but right now she had a job to do...they all did, and it was to set it up before night fall and it would take them all day just to get that ready but at least they will have help from Lenore "guys, she is awake!" She said as she stopped and looked at the two 'new' kitsus that were with her family "and these are for you" she said as she walked over and placed the rings around each of their necks.
"Thank you darling" Sayako said as she nuzzled the adolescent pup.
"And you" Electra said as she placed the ring around Thane's neck.
"Thank you" he said as he nuzzled the pup.
"Now" Sayako said "Electra, go back to your sister and Gersif and tell them that we are sorry we can't be there as we are a little busy but we will see them later and we are glad Odessa is better" she said as she saw Cassandra get up.
"I will go with her, I am her mother and so if I don't go she will wonder why more so, I will be back so just get started and I will come and help as soon as I can" she said as she looked to her daughter "come on, darling, lets go see your sister" she said as she and Electra ran back towards Odessa's cave.

Gersif nodded to her thanks but gave no response to her jest turning his attention instead to Odessa with a smile at her question. "I don't think it was so much the ring that did you in" he smiled "I hear tell you have quite the habit of pushing yourself" he spoke with a jesting tone that she might not take the words as a reprimand or feel the need to defend herself in something which was simple an observation and not an attack. "Though given that you just woke of after a four day sleep I suppooooose I could give you a break" he drew out 'suppose' emphasizing it this time fully in jest wanting to lighten her mood and keep the day light and if possible fun.
"We're bound to get visitors now that you're awake, I'm sure Electra's told everyone by now" he smiled "No rest for the weary" a wink at her. Today might not be as rough as her last, but it would still be a long day for her, he had a feeling, there was no shrugging off thoughts of Oliver, her responsibility, the future, or the past even for just a day they would haunt her, she was too good hearted for them not to.

"Gee, how kind of you, you are all heart aren't you?" she said playfully, smiling a little at him "and yes BUT only for causes I believe in, I will be happy to kill myself if I have to when it comes to helping others, I know I shouldn't be so reckless with my life now that I have Oliver but meh, if I can save a Kitsu though it may end my life in the process then so be it, I am not giving up my selfless ways for anyone" she said, looked out of the cave, pleased it was another beautiful day, she was going to miss these days.
Electra ran in moments later and pounced on her sister "Dessa!" She said happily as she cuddled her.
"Hi Ele" she said as she saw her mother come in and stood up to greet her, her sister falling off her and onto her butt as she was doing so, making sure she was alright she looked at her mother "mom, I am sorry for making you worry" she said as she walked over and nuzzled her.
Cassandra wanted to reprimand her but she knew better to do it in front of others so she next thing instead and nuzzled her back, she was pleased her daughter was alright, what mother wouldn't be? "it's alright darling" she said sincerly "though you and I are going to have a talk later" she said as she kissed her cheek and looked at Electra "come on darling, lets get going, we have stuff to do" she said smiling at her youngest daughter.
"Alright mom!" She said as she got up and walked over to her mothers side "we have stuff to do and Oliver is being taken care of by daddy so as for you two, you are free to do your own thing, go have fun, do whatever you want, we will come see you later and NO thinking about what you 'should' be doing! Just forget everything for the day and just do whatever you want" she said as she and her mother left.
Odessa blinked "er...do whatever we want and don't think..."Odessa stopped and shook her head, whatever was up with the cryptic clues she would know later but a day off from not looking after Oliver...? What were they up to...?

He had opened his mouth to respond to her... and then she was saved by Electra. He frowned watching the reunion. She couldn't truly be sorry, he sighed, to be sorry for something means you wont do it again... but she would... she said as much seconds before...
Now he was left in the cave sitting in the same spot his empty plate before him and Odessa's across, his frown only got deeper. With a sigh he hoisted himself with great effort onto his feet and tended to the plates before turning back to face the Odessa at the mouth of the cave and decide his next move.
He walked up to her side, eyes forward so as to not be confrontational though his words might be. He kept his voice soft and though he tried to keep emotion out of it sadness crept into every word. "Not even a whole bunch of someones?" he quirked an eyebrow worried and not liking the direction the conversation had gone. "It's not just Oliver you have to think of you know. What about Electra? Your Mother and Father? Sayako and Thane? Calliope and Morpheus who are counting on you to take care of their son? What about me?" He looked at her with a disappointed and dejected frown. "What of all the lives you will fail to save in the future by dying?" He wasn't sure she understood the meaning of 'selfless' by the sheer fact she 'wouldn't give it up for anyone' .. that seemed more selfish if you asked him. He decided for the moment not to say as much, he still wanted the day to go well.

"At least YOU will be alive" she said, understanding what he said but still, to her, she may leave the people she cared about and loved BUT at least they had lives "if I let that poor kitsu just end up dead how fair is that?! You might be able to live with yourself but I won't be able to, so you lose me at least I will give one family back their loved one, yes it hurts mine BUT as I said, I am not about to just ignore the kitsu and not save it, if I die in the process of saving it then so be it, at least it gets to live." Odessa said as she started towards the cave "and if you hadn't noticed, I am not the only one who is saving these lives, if you care to remember Morpheus did the exact same thing and I am more then certain he has nearly died on many occasions also" she said as she left "are you coming?" She called, maybe one day she will change her mind but right now she was happy with how she lived her life, he wasn't about to change it regardless what he said.
