suwako only frowned at this she knew it would be hard to hear about the outside world and never experience it,
she looked at the others "maybe just a brief introduction and a statement of abilities will suffice from now on?" she suggested

"I think that's all fairly self-explanatory, Suwako. We've all seen what each other can do. But if you feel inclined, go ahead."
He waved his hand once more.

"well not all of use have contributed in helping defensively" she gave a look at Saika
"but my abilities are basically speak and understand frogs, summon both water and earth elements" suwako stated

"Well, I would say my mind is my greatest strength. Sure, I can transcribe ancient glyphs but that holds little bearing in where I find meaning in my life. I suppose my greatest "power" is charisma."

Willow sniffed. So, these creatures who were able to sense that each other were creatures of magic were not able to sense her differences? Even though she may have only been a minor magic user, and was probably very hard to detect, Willow applauded herself at her stealth. She leaned back comfortably against the chair, suddenly a lot happier.

Sensing Willow's confidence, Bartheyamus asked without flinching:
"What can you shape-shift into, Willow? Hawk, Eagle, Owl? Why haven't you told anyone thus far? I could tell when you poured me my drink. I thought it strange you'd be climbing down from a tree without first going up..."
He looked at her and gave a wink.

suwako looked at suika "so suika what powers do you have other than the ability not to be effected by alcohol poisoning?" suwako asked teasing suika, suika tended to get on suwako's nerves from time to time but she wasn't a bad person

Willow flinched, immediately giving herself away. She scraped her foot along the floor and mumbled something incoherent before pursing her lips shut and folding her hands awkwardly across her lap.

Bartheyamus giggled. It was perhaps the first trace of positive excitement since he awoke from the grave.
"Oh come now!" he leaned in his chair dramatically "Tell me! I'm dying to know."

"a shapeshifter, i'm curious to see too, but only if you want to explain, don't feel pressured" suwako added it was understandable that not everyone wanted to show or explain their powers

Willow doubled over in her chair and covered her face in her hands, hoping to disguise the embarrassment that she knew they would be able to see. "Don't prod! I'm not exactly proud of my heritage, you know!" She stayed that way for a few moments, biting the bottom of her lip uncomfortably. "I'm not grand. Like you all are."

He laughed maniacally.
"Grand, really? You think me grand? I'm the son of a peasant and the the only father I did have died on a battlefield. I inherited his kingdom and ran it into the ground. To cope, I slept in a coffin for 700 years and wandered alone for another thirty years. Hardly grand I'd say. Take pride in your powers, Willow, you are able to fly, touch the sky. See sights my eyes are not able to! Hell," he threw up his hands and laughed again "I can't even go out in daylight!"

Willow looked up, thoughtful. "yes, but you are all very strong, and can do lots for the protection of this inn; yet I've been here my whole life and I can't do anything but sit and watch in amazement while you work your magic. Living paper dogs! Whoever thought of such a thing! Trust me, you guys are lucky to have what you have. Me? I'm just a measly half breed, moping around in the shadows, waiting for my own death."

Bartheyamus went to reply but his white eyes went wide as he doubled over his stool, spilling onto the floor. He clutched his heart in pain as he coughed up small spurts of blood. At once, his hair lost some sheen and his facial features became was gaunt, primal. He shrieked and moaned but managed to get out a quick sentence.
"So-- Someone killed the hounds! All three of them!"
Usually the vampire would be able to handle the dissipation of the hounds if the time between their death was staggered. But this happened all at once! This foe was strong, whatever it was. The pain expanded in his chest as if he was pierced by a lance. Cold grew in the air around him. Coughing up more blood, he was losing control and fast.
"It's coming from the Hallow!" he screamed as he gnashed his teeth.
"Prepare yourse--" those were his final words before he passed out due to blood deprivation.
