And They Called Me Mechs

If you want a reliable and accurate 9mm, then it's a Glock 17 you want. You can break the firing pin in that damn thing and it'll still fire. Just like you can douse a AK-47 in mud and it'll still fire.

The Glock 17 is nice, but it's not a SIG. Plus, SIG makes the SIG SG 550 assault rifle, the best infantry weapon ever devised.

So, we need to establish force strength. How many infantry do we have? How many tanks? APCs? IFVs? Ships? Submarines? Once we know the full extent of our strength, we can scale the enemy appropriately within RPs, both inside the guild and within guild wars.

I will admit that sig makes good weapons, but I have my weapons of choice from actual expience using them.

As for establishing the strength of our forces, well, I think that'll happen over time.

Well, how many we have is fully dependent on how many active members we have; the number of NPC troops = depends on situation.

Oh, you left out a group in the Rank thread. Chief Warrant Officers. I know, there's only five ranks (, well, only fourin the Navy since there's no CWO1, only CWO2-5), but they are actually very important as they are a form of commissioned officer, and are actually the oldest form of officer in the military. Not to mention they are THE experts in their fields. Specially in the Navy. The only branch that doesn't have them is the Air Force.

I'm not going to say you have to add them, but I would appreciate it, because so far in the Navy they've been extremely important in my career, and actually command more respect than most O-6's.

I understand this. A point however, is to make all of this way more linear. Like for instance... How am I going to exploit the warrant officers?

They're a completely different ranking system based off of entirely different attributes- to fight or not to fight is simple with Officers and Enlisted officers.

What am I going to do, say "Your only a submarine technician, your a warrant officer, you can't engage in a battleground or any roleplays and fight, sorry."

If I used warrant officer ranks it would deviate from their original purpose. Although a lot of stuff is copied from the United States military, a lot is not, for making the guild more linear and less confusing.

So, I understand perhaps using warrant officers. Question is... Why would I promote anyone to a warrant officer, in a guild, rather than the standard CO or Enlisted?

The Warrent Officers that I would use; cooks, surgeons, medics, navigators, accountants, secretaries, engineers, and technicians are mostly going to be NPC's.

While I do see your point you can use them. Say a TM CWO is out to sea with a ship, and they are engaged suddenly. He would then be the person in charge of all MA's, GM's, and TM's. He still has to take orders from the CO in said situation, but any other officer he can tell to ******** off. I see it as kind of a way to have a character who isn't limited to only one ship, but can freely roam about them as he needs or see's fit within his jurisdiction.

O_o

So, you want the position so you can go around telling people off...?

Right.

Well, oddly enough our major CO's and CEO's can already 'jump' ships. Hell, anyone can anytime they want, it just requires an acknowledgment from the Navy Branch leader.

What else could it be used for, and the like?

I don't want to be a warrant officer. And besides, it was just a suggestion.

Today, while thinking about how to help the marine branch of the guild, I actually kind of want to start a recon spec-ops group for the marines, I'd say that it'd be a ginormous force multiplier for the normal groundpounders XD
