Sanera MeriThranduiliell Oh! Now I know what you mean. I hadn't noticed that Locke wore them, though. It only showed him putting it on once, in one of the earlier episodes I completely missed that. I really need to pay better attention. sweatdrop

i am starting to believe that our friend, mr. smoke monster, is not the only monster on the island. in episode 4 of the first season locke encounters a monster, which we do not see. in the season 1 finale locke is almost dragged into a hole by mr. smoke monster and he has a (imo) suprised look on his face. could this be because he had not seen mr. smoke monster before? i am starting to believe that there are two monsters on the island, one symbolizes bad (mr. black smoke) and the other symbolizes good (the one locke saw in episode 4 and that we have yet to see)
yeah, i know, this is more than a little farfetch'd but -shrugs-

well...i forget which episode, but you see Walt reading a spanish comic book. in the book you see a polar bear, then you see a big snow globe type thing in the background. i think that the island, and all of the people on it, are in an experiment. at the end of season two Desmond's girlfriend somehow knew that she would find Desmond around an area of high magnetic power, and her dad is pretty friggen rich..so..maybe he is the one funding this whole "experiment", if that's what is happening. don't know how this connects with the comic book thing..but i just thought those things were interesting.

My theory is that they all died when the plane crashed, and they are in a pergatory(like a waiting room) to heaven, and they are being tested to see if they are going to heaven or hell!!

Well, he probably was, but the idea of the two monsters isn´t so carzy to me,in one episode Locke tells Mr. Eko(or anyone else, i don´t remember) "i saw into the eyes of the island and i saw light" (these sonrtly after seeing the monster and then ecko says, "that´s not what I see". Refering toi the black smoke and probably to all the flashes of his past in the monster.

Well my theory is all the characters names hold meanings for their characters... like the fact Jack and John technically have the same name...

Naomi is working with the Others, who are basically just trying to undermine the security of the 815ers and turn themselves against one another. There is no boat at all. Desmond lied to Charlie about seeing Claire and Aaron leaving the island because he knew Charlie's willing to die for them, and was Desmond sick of having to constantly save the "little limey runt"'s life. I don't believe they're in Purgatory, or anything like it-- again, it's security-undermining. Oh, and Locke's dad (if he really was his dad...) was working with the Others, too. Maybe he'd been in contact with them since the beginning, even before puching Locke out the window, perhaps. Penelope's dad is/was involved with Dharma. (Sorry if these theories aren't crazy enough for you.)

Well I think that the "monster" has a fragment of the soul of everyone that has died on that Island. My freind said that the cloud of darkness symbolized Evil, and when Ecko (poor Ecko crying ) looked it in the eye and showed NO fear, it scared it off. Also I think the shadow morfed into Ecko's brother because HE had died on the island so it used his soul? Well that's my theory

I think it's pretty obvious the people on the boat are the modern day incarnation of the Dharma Initiative.
They're clearly against Ben, who defected and killed the Dharma team on the island.
However there's a few things that wouldn't make sense with just this.
At the start, Ben and the others are living lives as if they are the Dharma Initiative. After the murder of Dharma when Ben defected more people were brought to the island by Dharma.
So I think after Ben and the others killed the Dharma team, they posed as Dharma, covered it up and pretended nothing was wrong. This would mean that the others have a motive for posing as Dharma and an interest in the studies they were doing.
This worked for a couple decades, but the events that took place on the island in the last few months, namely Mikhails duties being undone and the Swan exploding, alerted the Dharma off the island of the situation.
But what I have no clue about, is the significance of the time dilation surrounding the island.
We see that time on the island is 31 minutes behind time outside of it.
Could this maybe play a role is Desmonds visions? Can he see into the future because the future is really the present and the island is behind it?

I also thought the relationship between Dharma and the hostiles was a little odd since Juliet's first flashback. When Richard shows her the tape of their facility in "Portland" it looks suspiciously similar to the videos found in various hatches. Seem to be made around the same time and have people wearing similar lab coats... Even if they knew about the hostile takeover, they might have snuck people in to push the button, because it's so important. Hard to say though, it seems that Locke was the only one to enter 77, and that was after communications were already down. Seraphor Can he see into the future because the future is really the present and the island is behind it? That blew my mind a little. Good thinking!
