Belated Happy 22nd Birthday, Talon!
PostPosted: Mon Apr 24, 2006 10:43 pm

{Using humor to get my point across =
Get yer butts over to the RP everyone. blaugh

I'm sure a lot of have been busy, including myself, but it doesn't take much effort to post a little. I have not been a saint myself, blaming school for not being around. Heh. I'm not expecting anyone to come more just because of my post, however, WE have to start the conversations and continue the RP. Eh, I think most of you will see my point through all my bad humor.

Here's some local news:

I'm sure some of you remember that I had a fall concert last year, and now the time comes again. We're having our spring concert in a little under a month. I shall be doing an assortment of things, from tap dancing to playin' piano. I'm excited and nervous, nothing new when the date draws near.

Hope everyone is doing well, and I hope to see you down at the RP. wink

Also, Ani: My mom is just getting into the business, right now she is working some in other jobs, and just painting, drawing, etc. for fun. Since I'm homeschooled, or unschooled; whatever you want to call it, she has been helping with that. Mostly that involves buying books and equipment for what I'm working on. I do some regular subject work, and write a lot, however, I spend most of my time following what I really want to do. I happen to be a little too eclectic though. sweatdrop People descibe me as E, eclectic, eccentric: Evan.
I'm really hoping to help her follow whatever path in art she decides to take, I can help with uploading to computers, photographing her art, getting her pieces of photography that can be used as reference for paintings, etc.

I like my current avatar. Can you say Piratelicious? Seriously, can you? The T and the L just don't fit, but I say it anyway. Launcher seems very piratelicious as well.

Nicely put, Anuminus. Yes, I do know about homeschooling. I did a bit of it myself and my sister did it for three out of four kids. 3nodding I have a fledgeling in my nest and I am beginning to prepare for her take off. Plus my profession did not translate to the city we moved to in the Bay Area. Our city doesn't need a Tropial Biologist. I'm sure that you can help your mom with computers. I'm learning to do a lot of new stuff with my computer and new digital camera. See, I'm in class online. I work in my studio and send photos of my studio set up so the instructor can have a reference to what I'm working on. I have a good instructor who just had a show at a prestigious gallery in SF. But he still has time to check our individual progress on a daily basis! I've missed a week and a half (two whole 20hour long sessions of work) because I got a sinus infection and bronchial asthma. I'm hoping that I can catch up beginning tomorrow. Do you know whether Constable J is going to stay active in the HHG?

I believe that Constable will not be returning, from what I know. It is sad. I'm sorry you're had such a hard cold season, I've still got a slight cough even after 2 weeks of being sort of sick, at least it's not the dry heaving cough it used to be. That's great that you have an instructor that checks your work daily, It can be very useful to have someone like that at your disposal. I have some very good news. Yesterday, I ordered a Wacom 6 x 8 in. tablet, the Intuos 3. I'm so excited, I can't wait to try it out in Photoshop, Painter, Illustrator, Flash, etc. I'm getting it for myself, to use for digital art, and I think I'd like to let a couple friends and my mom play around/do some art with it.

{Rant of some sort... I think.}
I know my mom will want to tinker with it some, and perhaps do some line art for me to color. As soon as it arrives I'll bring it with me when I see Launcher and Teran next. Launcher does some pretty spiffy digital art, so he might want to try the tablet a bit. I don't know if Teran does much art, but I'd let him give the tablet a spin too. This ENTIRE situation, of letting other people use the tablet, will of course be allowed, AFTER a short (2-3 hours) lecture on not pushing too hard on the tablet, and also not breathing, sweating, touching it, etc. Actually... People just shouldn't touch it at all. They should control the stylus with their minds. Don't have telekenisis? TOO BAD. The new tablet will be so beautiful that no one should touch it, ever. I'll put it on display, and dust it daily.

Wow, was that a rant? Oy, I need to cut back on the sugar. Too many Snickers today...

Wait until I tell my daughter about your tablet. We've been trying to get her one for ages, but she prefers using online okaki boards. I know that she's really had a shock when I started up my studies. First, she demanded to know what credentials I had ( I have many). Then she's never seen anyone as obsessed and committed to something (except her health care) and she can't talk me into doing things she'd like to do or have. It's pretty clear by now that her artwork needs some serious training to even do the work I do. She's got the talent, no doubt about it, but, without training and with as little self initiative as she has, it's stagnant.

Constable J and Teran broke up? Greetings to Launcher and Teran from me. biggrin

Hello all, I haven't been on for a while, partially because I've been so busy this quarter, partially because I had bronchitis for about three weeks, and of course, out of a general laziness to go onto my main account. However, spring quarter is almost over and when summer comes, I'll have some time on my hands (I hope).

Eh, people are busy. This summer everything will be much better. I just got back from a tap dance/music performance, and have 2 plays I'm performing the day after tomorrow.

I'll be around more often in about 2 weeks...

Bleh. Launcher lacks his own internet connection at the moment but he's trying to keep things up to date, but everyone seems pretty busy...

Anyway Ani, greeting back to you as well.

Who pets Bessie II today?

Btw, Talon, your sig was best before it was fiddled with. I loved the pure rake -ishness of it.
