"Ah, yes. Understood." Talbot nodded. It seemed odd to him suddenly that his last opponent would be Arron. Arron would be able to forfeit, or fight at half his ability. There was no advantage to the King and Queen to send him out to be the final challenger. It made him very suspicious. "I hope this is as simple as it seems..."

Arron yawned. "Y-Yeah... me too... If-If it turns south... We can fight our w-way out..." he mumbled. It had been a long day & both of the needed rest for in the morning.
"We-We should rest for tomorrow... You especially." he said.

"You're right. I absolutely can not lose tomorrow, no matter what." Talbot nodded, then lay down on the floor, his large cloaks acting as an excellent blanket. His shoulder felt tender, but he would ignore the pain if it became a hindrance to him in the battles to come.
"Good night, Arron."

The knight was greeted by a sleepy mumbling of "Good night..." Arron would soon be fast asleep.

The morning came quickly, and guards opened Arron's cell door, one of them walking over and giving him a nudge with her foot
"Hey! Wake up! I've got a bet to win." she said, crossing her arms.
The other two guards snickered, then helped Arron to his feet by grabbing both of his arms.

The rude awaking quickly roused the mechanic. He had a scowl on his face as he was pulled into a standing position.
"H-Here's hoping you b-bet on th-the right person." he grumbled, brushing himself off.

"What? No, it's not about the fight." she said, almost surprised for a moment before grinning.
"I bet that none of the armour we have is going to fit you. Come on, let's get you suited up." she led him by the arm into another room where two other soldiers were looking through armour.

The knight's words took the mechanic by surprise as they walked to the armory. However he shook his head, blushing, & laughing. "Al-Alright... Th-That's not unusual for me-me." he admitted.

"That's why we made the bet." the woman explained before pointing him towards several sets of armor.
"Mix and match if you have to, but our king and queen wanted you nice and armoured for this. Something about wanting a new full-time servant." she smirked, then stood by the door

The remark was received with a rather foul look from the mechanic, but he said nothing. He scanned the armor looking for anything that would fit, which took him some time. However, Arron managed to find a full set of armor, though it was a tight fit. Feeling ridiculous, the young man grabbed a sword to use. He knew he was no match for Talbot, & honestly wondered why they would make him go last. Once he was ready, he turned back to the knight.
"...G-Guess you lost." he said grinning under the face plate.

The woman sighed, shaking her head.
"Fair enough. I guess I over estimated your size, big man." she said, lacing her words with innuendo if only for the sake of a joke.
"Well, you have a lot of time to wait before it's your turn to fight, so get used to the armour, or take a seat and get ready to wait." she suggested.

He nodded & sat. Arron felt that the less prepared for this, the better his friend's chances were at defeating him. However, he was fairly uncomfortable wearing the armor. He sighed & would wait.

A fair amount of time passed, and then someone finally came to let the woman know that Arron should get into position.
"Seems your friend's survived pretty far. They want to give you the chance to finish him off after the next few fighters. Follow me." She stood and opened the door, waiting for Arron to come along.

He nodded, standing. Arron was remaining quiet as he followed, worried over Talbot's well being.

The sound of cheering and screaming was heard ahead. When the stadium was in view, there stood Talbot, clothed in golden armour with a tattered shirt, with blood dripping down his face. He was breathing heavily, but still standing, and below him, a large pile of scattered black kingdom warriors, none bearing a single drop of blood. He paused, then took a fighting stance when three more warriors stalked into the battle arena. His sword was extended in front of him as far as his arm could reach, as if he was encouraging the warriors to attack first. They did, and he was quick on his feet, avoiding their blades gracefully, but with clumsy landings.
