*Luciel nods*
I do take one thing from Mama, though...The acid I spit is scalding hot...and I can breathe underwater...
*Noting Luna's and Averus's confised looks, he pulls a piece of meat out of his cheek*
I was saving this for later...but now's as good a time as any...stand back, everyone...
*When they all move back, he opens his mouth and spits...and the meat dissolves...no suprise...his acid is 98% H2SO4...*

the old stable master brings forth several buckets of water to dilute the acid and make the area safe...
ye see... not all dragon breath fire... some spit acid... other breath cold... and some breath poisonous gases.... so iffin ye are going to work with dragons, present company excluded of course as luceil here is a friend and won't hurt ye... do ye homework, kiddies... it's important to know what their natural weapons are beyond their immense size, claws and teeth... and just so ye know... not all of them fly either... as few are burrowers... and some just hunt like a fox or wolf... and i even know of one that is so tiny and delicate ye'd think it was defenseless... but trust me it isn't....

yep... the ones with more magic in them little fingers than ye probably have in the whole dang bulk of ye... dragons are fantastical creatures, kids... but don't ye go underestimating them one bit... ok... now... let's get this mess cleaned up and ye all head back to the castle, ok... it's almost dinner time....

lyssan shrugs... i think he was talking to paladin up stairs... at least i thought i heard their voices coming from me study.... their discussion sounded pretty involved, so i didn't intrude... the two of them are getting along much better than i ever dreamed they would, so i don't want to disturb them unless it is necessary....

*Luciel nods, and follows Lyssan down to supper...suprisingly, Kero and Paladine are there...not discussing Takhisis...but engaged in a lively debate*
Look, Dad...creation is all well and good...but to take that creation...and change the weave...to intefere and not destroy, but remake...surely that involves much more control that pure creation...
*It appears Kero and Paladine wound up reviving the Creation vs. Transformation debate again*

I did...
*Kero and Paladine soon wrap up that debate...then pull Lyssan into a different one...one that has been troubling Kero for a long time...whether or not you can fault a child's soul for the bad things he or she did...*

lyssan sighs... i know that there are people who say bad is bad... but i feel that iffin the child does not know the depth of his or hers wickedness, ye cannot damn them for it...
no one points a finger at a lion when they go hunting to survivie, yet many say killing another life is one of the gtreatest evil's which inflict our world.... i believe children sometimes see the world differently than we do... we see it as a matter of greys... going from white ore near white to the deepest black... and our decisions are made in accordance to these levels of right and wrong... she smiles sadly at paladin... ye know my feelings on this my friend, and i respect yers, but to be so absolutely right that yer way is the only correct and proper way is one of the greater evils we face... i know ye yerself do not follow the stringent guidelines of yer followers... that their rigidity is self imposed and not from ye, but i will always maintain that good done in the name of evil will always be good and evil done in the name of good is evil indeed... and this includes punishing a child as though they were one of us...
a child's world is black and white.... good and bad... and sometimes they lash out at what they see as bad, hoping to remove it from their world... one case in point... a child... let's say a young boy... who endures rigid, even corporal punishment day in and day out... who finds or feels he has no way out, who feels endangered... and perhaps is... if this child strikes out in self assume self defense and kills his oppressors... is he evil?

*Kero immediately shakes his head*
And I agree with yer views, Lyssan...unfortunately, the piper does not...and that is why I struggle with him...he sees only the children's actions, not the reasons behind them...However...some children's souls are so black even I have no choice...and this leads me into my next question...the number of these are increasing...do etiher of you have any idea what's going on...normally children get a free pass to Heaven...some of their souls are so purely light they blind me...so where are these shadows coming from...

from the adults around them says lyssan sadly... the media moguls... the entertainers.... the people they are brought up to respect and look up to... from the sportsmen to the pop stars... not even their leaders are untainted... and those who point out the evil in others more often than not are hiding evil of their own from sight... a child emulates that which surrounds them... one needs only to turn on a tv to see what i mean... thank the dark lady it doesn't reach me own realm....

paladin adds thoughtfully... i would also say there has been a degree of lackness in culpability.... people are so sure that they can do no wrong... that the world is their oyster... that they have "god" given rights to things which was once viewed as something to be earned..... we tell the child... it's not yer fault, it's the bully who annoyed ye... the teacher was too hard.... the coach was wrong, ye should have played... the pitcher was cheating, that why ye struck out... how can a child ever learn?

*Kero nods*
Makes sense...but then how can I damn these children...because no angel is going to take in a blot like some of these...believe me...I could barely make them out, they were so dark...
Tis a pity...that it is...I suppose I could talk to the sisters....I'm sure Lachesis is just as pissed about this as I am...perhaps we could arrange something tasty for these people...something to remind them that the world belongs to itself and the all-ruler...Light and Darkness swore not to interfere...I didn't...and neither did Fate

paladin smiles grimly, no son ye did not, but are ye willing to pay the cost of such an endeavor.... more souls will be lost than ye can ever dream of and many threads will be cut short... far sooner than they would be otherwise.... and remember the cost would reflect in yer soul as well... to this day i regret that which was done in my name... would i and my fellow peers do it over again differently... no... the necessity was there... but the horror of that will haunt me forever
