"Ah... what was that?" Talbot asked in a whisper as the doors were closed loudly behind them. He didn't quite hear what his friend had said, because he was ahead of him when he spoke. His pace was slow down the hall until he heard a loud laugh echoing from wall to wall that came from directly ahead of them, and he stopped walking entirely.

The laugh had stopped Arron in his tracks as well. He looked at Talbot worried about what they were soon to be facing. "...L-Lyth doesn't like to-to be called 'sp-sparkly'..." he said quietly, "...& I-I hope that wasn't an-an evil laugh..."

"Ah... I... see..." Talbot responded while still staring down the hall. The laugh had sent shivers down his spine. He'd never so much as seen the black king or queen, so the idea of meeting them suddenly felt very frightening. It took a bit of courage to start stepping forward again.

Arron placed a reassuring hand on his friend's shoulder as they walked. He was trying to put on a brave face for Talbot.

Talbot took a deep breath as he kept walking. He was so close to the next step of his goal. If he could convince the King and Queen to sign a peace treaty, his kingdom would be forced to do the same. He just needed to prove that both sides wanted to end the war. The laughing ahead echoed down the hallway once more, uproarious as it was before. The young knight stopped walking when he saw the start of the throne room, then pushed himself forward. There, on a throne, sat the black king. His eyes were piercing orange and yellow spheres, focused, yet wild. His hair was blue, and his skin a darker shade. A wide grin was on his face, and he leaned forward casually when he saw the two approach, a hand on each knee."Guests? What's the occasion?" he questioned jovially. The queen was sitting on the throne beside him, legs crossed, and eyes gazing over at the two with mild interest. Her eyes were golden, and her hair was short and brown. Her red painted lips were curved upward into a smirk."... my name is..." Talbot paused, then stood up taller, puffing his chest out and taking a breath before dropping to one knee in respect. "My name is Talbot Nesdin, of the white kingdom. I am the messenger that was sent to deliver the peace treaty four years ago." he stated boldly, unsurprised when the feeling in the room shifted from casual, to somewhat tense.

Arron stared around the throne room for a few seconds in awe. The stark differences between the kingdoms was astounding to him.The mechanic then knelt next to the knight in respect of the king & queen. However he remained silent. He was afraid of angering them & making their trip be in vain.

The king raised an eyebrow, and then let out a laugh, putting his hand to his head. He seemed highly entertained by this. "The peace treaty! I remember! From four whole years ago. And here you are." his grin was wide, yet incredibly intimidating. "What have you been doing all this time? Starting a family? Running a business?" the queen asked mockingly, also letting out a giggle."A tea shop! He must've been making a tea shop!" the king added, leaning back on his chair."Your graces... I was being held captive, and was unable to deliver the treaty. For that, I beg your forgiveness." he lowered his head apologetically.

After watching the exchange take place, the mechanic frowned slightly under his helmet. The king & queen seemed to be in high spirits, but he was afraid of the discussion turning sour.

"Held captive, eh? That sounds terrible. Of course, we don't keep prisoners here, so you must have been a captive somewhere else. That's pretty funny!" the King grinned, leaning forward, bright eyes gleaming, "The single proud knight of the White Kingdom tasked with delivering the peace treaty, only to be captured by someone that wasn't part of either side. Tell me, how did you fall so easily?""I had... lost my memory, your highness. I was used as a...." Talbot frowned, looking deeply ashamed. He knew that he would need to be honest, but it was too painful to recall, and much worse to utter out loud. Still, he had a duty, so he quickly let his eyes fall to the ground. "I was... a slave, your majesty. But I'm no longer under anyone's control, so.. I've come to fulfil my duty to both kingdoms.""A slave? A mighty white knight was reduced to a lowly slave? And now you've come with this fake pride and honour, and present yourself again as a knight?" The King was amused beyond words at this point, and he let another laugh escape."And you. Who are you? What side do you represent?" the Queen asked, pointing at Arron.

"I represent no side Y-Your Highness." the mechanic said bravely, "My name is Arron C. S-Straight, Head Lythcol Mechanic of the G.C.S. The Gryphon & I was th-the one who h-helped Talbot himself free from his enslavement." Arron hoped that his knowledge of the incident would aid the knight in the peace treaty.

Talbot remained silent, trying not to show how much the words of the King stung him."An ally of this knight, but of neither kingdom. And what do you hope to accomplish by coming here if you have no alliance?" the Queen asked over her chuckling husband. Her eyes were judging, but a grin remained on her lovely face.

Arron glanced at Talbot. He was never good at being questioned so he kept his answers, short, honest & to the point. He said, "I-I am here to ensure the safety &-& well being of my-my friend Your Majesty."

"Is that so? Fascinating." the Queen nodded, grin widening. She glanced at her husband, who'd finally finished laughing and was rubbing his eyes."We'll sign your treaty, slave." the King said, a wide smile on his face."Ah... really?" Talbot uttered, too surprised to hold back his question. He didn't realize he'd responded to being called 'slave', as he was still so used to it."Of course. We agreed to it in the first place four years ago, why wouldn't we agree to it now?" he added, crossing his legs in the other direction and placing a hand on each arm rest."But of course, we wouldn't trust the word of a slave, nor would we allow one to carry out such an important task." the Queen interjected, shaking her head.

Upon hearing the conversation, the young man immediately became suspicious & very wary of the situation. It showed in his face & body language. However he remained silent.

"With... all due respect, I... I'm not a slave any more... your majesties..." Talbot replied first, finally noticing how they'd begun to address him."You say that, but I don't believe you're a true knight. You have no pride, no confidence. Nothing about you tells me that you can hold your own in a battle. By outward appearance and actions, you are a slave." The king explained, a look of boredom sweeping across his face, "A knight would have died honourably or escaped on his own, and wouldn't have relied on an outsider." he pointedly glanced at Arron. "You should be at the feet of someone high class, not delivering important treaties."Talbot froze, at a loss for words. It was like the King had found all of his insecurities, and was stabbing directly into his heart with each and every one. Was he truly a knight? Could he ever consider himself honourable enough? Or was he better suited serving under someone as a servant...?
