lyssan smiles softly and rubs the ridge over his left eye... he remembers them all, dear one, but vaguely... as he would the memories that someone has shared with him... in a way he'll never forget, not truly... but the memories he left ye are yers dear one... all yers... none of them were fake... they did happen... but long long ago... he is ancient... not as old as i but close.... and ye are indeed truly young.... with a great deal of growing to do....
as for lying to ye... did he ever tell ye an outright lie or did he merely evade.. he's good at that ye know... he's been a trickster all his adult life... and at time i fear it's all he knows now... and he was trying to protect ye... truly he was for he feared the truth would hurt thee deeply...

He...he always evaded...but he...he was never there...and every time he came...I was sent away to play...why?
And even if the truth hurt me...why didn't he tell me...or at least give me a hint?

lyssan leads him down the path to a bush near the rear of the garden.... hidden at the back is a small nest which contain three small eggs....

in a way, dear heart, ye were like this egg... too fragile to be forced into the world before yer time.... we were always going to tell ye the truth... someday... but we all thought we had more time... time to prepare ye... only ye kind of forced our hands by growing up far faster than we thought ye would...
paladin saw this and brought it to me attention... that's why we sent you to stay with him for a time... but then he realized ye might need us someday and brought ye back... fortunately ye seem to be slowing down... now it appears that in time ye'll wind up growing like a normal dragon... slow and steady and live to a ripe old age...

lyssan sighs....he claims he's immortal and he has certainly lived a very long time... but he has his weaknesses and can die, dear heart... as can i and ame... and even paladin for that matter... but that isn't something any of us wants to contemplate, ye know....
as for when he will die... that is unknown... there is a veil across the future that few can truly pierce it... as for now he has a job that is necessary and thankless... i don't envy him of it in the least and i wouldn't want it for the world... but he does it well and life goes on... and ye are now a part of that life... is it not good? she gives him a hearty hug and heads for the kitchen....

What is his job...what does he do? What are his weaknesses...he seems all-powerful to me...will he go to Heaven when he dies...or is he evil underneath?

lyssan laughs... questions questions questions... champhy... we need nurishment... i can't answer all these questions on an empty stomach.... she looks at the young dragon and smiles... soon ye won't be able to come in here any more... yer growing up so fast... so which question is the most important... which should i answer first....

i could... says lyssan quietly... i could hurt him real bad, iffin i wanted to, but i don't... he has a weakness to twilight magic... an even though i do not cast it, it is the essence of what i am... and no... he is not evil... far from it dear one... would they allow one who was evil to sort the souls of the dead....
