SaferSaturnX Speaking of video games, my friend just modded his PS2. He put a hard drive in it and it has about thirty games (no load times!), including, but not limited to: We heart Katamari, Kingdom Hearts 2 (in japanese), Naruto 3 (in japanese), and even a playable FF XII demo (it looks like it's gonna be a great game, btw). I'll have to tell my mom that. She's played a large chunk of the FF games and can't wait for number 12. My whole family is rather videogame obesessed ninja

I'll have to tell my mom that. She's played a large chunk of the FF games and can't wait for number 12. My whole family is rather videogame obesessed ninja It plays a lot like FFXI, in the sense that your enemies are on the actual map, so no more random encounters. Also, there are two different battle settings. In either one you set up a leader, but can tell the other characters what to do (teams consist of three people). One setting is more similar to ATB, where it's not turn-based, but close. The other setting I don't understand much, but very little is automatic, you have to tell everyone what to do or they'll just stand around.
Edit: If anybody wants to know, the story takes place in Ivalice, the same world as FF Tactics Advance, and I believe it takes place long before the story in FFTA.

I read in ..(the magazine EB and Gamestop produce..) that Final Fantasy XII would be the last. As like, it wouldn't go past that. Or mabye they said for a while, because of other things. Dragon Quest games, Final Fantasy VII: Vicent's story and hopefully they might pick up Xenogears (highly doubtful), but then again I haven't picked up a video game magazine or been to any video game websites in a while.

I lost interest in the final fantasy series 6 games ago. The series is getting moldy, its time to throw it out.

If the games had different names then they would just be a bunch of mediocore games. The titles do not matter, the gameplay, characters and plots do. When it comes to games, I know what I'm talking about Teaparty blaugh

what I meant was he would probably not get bored of them if they were not in the same series, but rather individual games of the same producer....

Apparently there is another Earthbound guild claiming to be the first. This is hard to believe considering our guild is over 2 1/2 years old. Launcher and I are contacting the other guild and are trying to get them fix this. There is also a possiblity to group the guilds together.

AniMahler Where can we get the Naruto (in Japanese) for PS2? ChiA got at PS2 for Yule Tide this year and said she's thought that would neat to tget the Naruto (in Japanese). 3nodding The Japanese Naruto uses the NTSC/J system (meaning it's a Japanese game). That means that there are only two ways to play it. The first option is to buy a Japanese PS2. Seeing as that can be a little pricey for perhaps just a few games, you can mod (modify) your existing PS2. This involves taking off the PS2 faceplate (as far as I know, indefinately), and using a program in the PS2 to recognize the Japanese system data. Fortunately for us, Sony's makes their hardware compatable with some other systems, and you can attach a new hard drive to the system. I'm not speaking of the PS2 hard drive either. You can go to the computor store, buy a hard drive, and with a PS2 hard drive case, add a hard drive to your PS2. Now don't go spending your money on a hard drive just, yet, because as far as I know, not every hard drive is compatable, only some. There are two or three programs needed to rip the DVD and turn it into a file the PS2 will recognize, but once this is done, you can store games on a PS2 hard drive (which is why there are no loading times). I'm not entirely sure whether or not a hard drive is needed in order to play Japanese games, but it does help. I'm going to get more details from a friend of mine to see exactly how it's done, what programe you need, etc., because I'm planning on doing it myself. As far as getting the Naruto 3 game disc, or any other Japanese game for that matter, check any local Japanese video game stores (they're hard to find, but there are a few). Otherwise, the internet is always a good option.
Teran I lost interest in the final fantasy series 6 games ago. The series is getting moldy, its time to throw it out. While I do agree that games should not continue for more than a trilogy (exceptions can always be made), the Final Fantasy series is different. because each FF game starts the audience off with a new, unique storyline each game, it s a series, but at the same time it isn't. Each advancement in the Final Fantasy storyline adds a new system of some sort. Final Fantasy I gave us the basic leveling system. FFII gave us a unique leveling system in which skills would rise as they are used (my personal favorite, because it makes more sense). FFIII I have not played, so I don't know enough about the system. Final Fantasy VI didn't have a new gameplay system, but it pushed the storyline aspect of gaming higher than ever before. FFV had the job system, another favorite of mine. FFVI pushed the storyline aspect even farther thn IV, and gave us the option to switch out characters. FFVII had the Materia system. FFVIII had the junction system, probably the oddest of them all. FFIX could be played multiplayer. FFX had the sphere grid. FFXI was an MMORPG. and FFXII has the MMORPG style gameplay as a single player game. Each game has a unique system. You argue that FFVI was the best, and while I agree it had a great storyline and some of the best characters I've ever seen, it didn't add many new gameplay features. I do agree though, that something was lost once games stopped being 2-D, and fully made the transition into three dimensions. I personally believe that the FF series will not end, at least not for a while.

On the news of that other guild, they retracted their claim of being the first and we retain our awesome title...
So I suppose we're down with one-another.
