For the first several minutes, Amber could hear shouts and the sound of breaking bottles behind her, but soon those noises faded away and she slowed to a walk. I guess it's back to the usual place, then. Making sure to stick with the crowds just to be safe, the youth began to make her way toward the park. Whenever she got in an arguement with her parents, or escaped before one occured, she would go to the little park to calm her mind. And not just anywhere in the park, either. She would always go to the tallest tree, which was located in the center of town. She didn't know what species of tree it was, but she really didn't care. All she cared about was that it didn't have the needles that some trees at this altitude had. Sometimes she'd simply sit at it's base over and stare out at a lake that was created by a meteor falling there long before Tine was around. It was a beautiful body of water, so it was no suprise that she loved it.
As she waited at a cross walk, her mind began to wander to the day's events. It had been an odd one, for sure. That so called 'vampire' was the strangest of it all, seeing that he was responsible for half of her confusion. Now that she'd had a chance to think on it, she regretted being such a pain toward him. When I see him next, I'll apologize. She decided with a resigned sigh.
It didn't take long to arrive at her favorite spot under that tree. Slowly walking up to the trunk, Amber noticed that the grass was damp. Most likely from snow that had just recently melted. Snow always stayed longer in and around this tree because of the large amount of shade. After looking wistfully upward into the branches for several moments, Amber began to search around the tree trunk for a few good footholes, which she easily found and used to her full advantage. Soon, she was ten feet above the ground, feet dangling over each side of a thick tree limb and gripping at it until her knuckles turned white. Heights weren't on her list of favorite things, for sure, but she didn't exactly have a problem with it. However, combined with her terrible balancing abilities, it made her a little uneasy. She'd be fine, she assured herself as she stared fixedly at the center of the lake, as long as she didn't look down. Just don't look down... Don't look down...

Victor was approaching the center of town, his mid-length silver hair framing his face rather then being spiked up. He looked skyward, thankful it was always so cloudy in this town. As his gaze traveled back eart-ward, he spotted someon climbing the tallest tree in town. Hmm? You don't see that too often. Victor thought, as he decided to check it out.
As he reached the base of the tree, he looked up, his eyes going wide for a split second. "Amber?" he said to himself. "Hey, Amber! What are you doing up this tree?" He called out. Not that there is anything wrong with her climbing the tree, it's just I didn't think she would be the type to climb trees. Victor thought, as he looked to Amber.

Amber had drifted into a daze of sorts, so much so that she didn't hear anyone coming up. When her name was called, she gave a start and just barely managed to stay safely upon her tree limb. Amber almost didn't recognise Victor with his hair framing his face like that, when she looked down to see who had spoken. Once it sunk in who it was, she drew herself up to sit ramrod straight. "I'm up here because the ground is wet and I didn't want mud on my jeans." She replied simply, then began work on bringing one leg over the branch so both of her legs were hanging off once side. "I always come here when I'm stressed out or upset about something."

Stressed out or upset? Victor thought. Making it seem effortless, Victor jumped up to a branch that was just about a foot lower then the one Amber was perched upon. "What are you stressed out about? Did something happen at home?" Victor asked, his voice no longer having the edge that it usually did. He ran his fingers through his hair habitually, brushing the bangs out of his vison. She certainly does seem stressed over something... Victor idly thought.

(( Eew, me neither. D= Kidding. xP It's fine. ))
"Sort of." Amber answered evasively, glancing sideways at Victor, who she saw was now on a branch beside hers. That was good. She wouldn't have to look down, now. "I climbed out my bedroom window before I could get told off." Though her body was turned to face him, her face was turned out toward the lake. Without really paying much attention to what she was doing, Amber began to pick at the tree bark, without actually pulling it off. "My sister had been interrogating me, I told her to leave me alone because I'd already answered what I could, and then she went stomping off. Mom heard, but before she could come up to explode at me, I dropped out my window and came here." It wasn't the whole story, sure, but she figured she'd probably leave the part about her drunken father attempting to chase her down the street. She didn't want to say it out loud. Not to someone she barely knew. It would probably seem... odd. "I'll go back when I know her and dad have cooled down."

Ok, so she climbed out of her window. An act of desperation to get away from her parents. On top of that, I have just found out that her mother is not as docile and pleasant as it seems. Victor thought, basically analyzing what she had just said. "When they have cooled down?" Victor said, not actually asking it, rather just repeating what she had said.
"How long does it usually take for them to 'cool down'?" Victor asked, before looking in the direction that she was, out towards the lake. It was quite beautiful, and Victor was surprised that he had never seen it. Maybe I should re-evaluate my outlook upon this town. Victor idly thought, before returning his attentiong abck over to Amber.

Amber shrugged pathetically. "Oh, I don't know. It varies." She started to kick her feet. "I guess I'll check back later tonight and see if they're still outraged. If they are, I'll just spend the night here! I've done it before; I can do it again." She attempted to show more resilience than she had in her with an odd grin that screwed up her her face slightly. Realizing how it must make her look, she wiped the smile off her face as quickly as it had come. She decided she didn't want to talk about this anymore. It was beginning to feel awkward to her. So she'd just change the subject. "So what are you doing out here, anyway? Following me again?" Her head tilted slightly to one side as she watched him. Amazingly, she hadn't sounded annoyed in the slightest. It merely seemed as though the young girl was making a pathetic attempt at normal conversation.

Victor shook his head. "No, I did not follow you. I was just walking around town, being bored. You know, I have never actually seen that lake?" Victor said, gesturing in the direction of the lake. "Nor have I been up this tree before." he added, looking around the tree. It is quite peaceful up here. Victor idly thought, as he let his eyes wander back to over to the lake.
Victor let out a small sigh. "Today has been one weird day, don't you think?" Victor said, although he already knew the answer.

Cherie lay on her bed, fretting. Her painted-pink lips were pinched into a little pout as her french-manicured nails danced over the mobile phone, pressing buttons. Kyle hadn't called yet. He said he would! She looked out the window and the afternoon sun glared in at her, cold through the freezing weather. Scowling, she threw a pillow at the window. It made a soft thump as it hit the glass and slid down to the floor.
Impatiently, she scrolled down to Kyle's name again, and hit the "call" button. Pressing the phone to her ear, she flopped on her belly and kicked her legs, waiting. She swore and threw the phone down, cancelling the call when it went to answering machine for the 10th time. She missed Kyle, and she missed her friends. Mommy was off with her lover, and she was alone at home. What to do?
It was so boring in Tine, and everytime daddy came up to take her to visit the city, she grew less and less fond of it. The big city down the mountain had so much more to offer, and daddy's lady colleages always fawned over her and took her shopping. Then, she had met Kyle. He was a journalist, and he was going to write for a magazine about Tine's natural beauty and blah blah blah. He was renting a room at the Friesen's across town. She didn't care about his work; the only thing she cared about was him. Cherie believed in love at first sight. Every time.
Kyle had been growing distant lately, and they had only been together for two weeks. However, she was anything but tired of him. His touch was electric to her, and she could scarcely contain herself everytime he kissed her. The man was amazing, and he made her feel whole everytime they made love. She grinned to herself. For all she knew, he might be the one.
Sitting up, she sighed resignedly. I guess Kyle's phone ran out of battery. Maybe I'll go visit him and see what he's doing... She got up and found her purse, then rummaged around for the slip of paper with Kyle's address on it. Upon finding it, she brandished it triumphantly in the air, grabbed her mobile phone, then ran out of her room.
Already ready with a cute coat, mitts and beanie, she found a pair of matching boots then left, locking the main gate behind her. She squinted at Kyle's messy scribble, looked around, then set off, watching her breath mist in front of her.

"Honestly, I rather like thievery for a living. And for now, I suppose an apartment wouldn't be bad, if I absolutely had to find one." came Senn's calm voice. In all honesty, he'd rather just live in his house for the remaining few weeks or days. But then, it'd be rather awkward in the one-room hut with the both of them living there.
Coming upon the main "Shopping district", the pair entered a slightly busier part of town. Then, since it was a small town, there weren't many large stores or anything. Just plain old simple shops lined the streets, some looking rather welcoming, while others appeared rather foreboding. One of the latter shops Senn pointed out, smirking as he spoke. "Some place like that would be perfect for one such as myself."

(( Sorry, guys. I nearly forgot about this role play. I got sooo dang sidetracked. ))
"Oh." Amber brushed an ant boredly off of her shoulder. "You haven't? It's in the center of town. It's kind of hard to miss." She seemed suprised when she looked back at him. "How long have you been here in Tine, anyway?" Amber shifted to stare out at the water. "Yeah, it has been pretty wierd." After she spoke, she remained silent for several long moments. Finally, she turned back around to face him, gripping the branch and leaning forward slightly, looking determined. "So, Victor was it? You... really are a vampire then? I haven't gone nuts and I'm not imagining things, or anything, right?" Still, she felt a little incredulous about all this. It all just seemed too wierd.
Arianna smiled calmly as they continued to walk, though she was keeping a careful eye on Senn. "Yes, you absolutely have to find one, but you don't need to move in right away if you don't want. I just don't want you out on the street once the bank reclaims your, er, current home." Her brow furrowed for the briefest of moments, but then her face was placid again. It suprised her how large of a crowd they were in for such a small town. She really didn't like being around so many people at once because it brought back unpleasant memories. Besides, she'd grown up with few people around her, and she was used to it. She stopped walking when Senn pointed a shop out and began to study the building's appearance. Eye twitching, she spoke in in forced polite tones that hinted that she, if left to her own devices, would probably never have anything to do with the place. "You want a job here?" She glanced sideways at the building. "Alright. Lets go on in then. If the manager gives you any problems, I can take care of it." Arms crossed, she walked up to one of the windows to peak inside to find whether or not it was even open. To her dismay, it was. Lovely.

"Hmph, this is quite an odd night to be out," Val thought aloud, allowing a quaint smirk appear on his face. From the light pole that he knelt upon, glaring down into the darkness below, he scoured the surrounding area in a fast-paced glance; hightening his awareness. "It's not like I have a choice in this matter," he began to think, letting the smirk fall into a frown, "I could leave now, but then I could be cast into an eternity of pain." "No, I lived that anyway, how could it be even worse!?" stated Val in a muffled outburt, clutching a fist until his knuckles turned white. It was then he realized that this moment would soon pass, and that this was indeed a 'now or never' sort of situation.
Disappearing from where he was in a slight cloud of mist, Valiant knew there wasn't any more room for hesitation. Reappearing without sound and leaning up against a large mail box; making sure he was properly placed out of sight, he reaxed slightly and prepared for the worst. Smoothly and calmy, he took a cigar from one of the pockets located on his trench coat and began to twirl it between his fingers in a fluid motion, making it seem almost unreal.
"Hello there Miss Cherie," he began, not bothering to look up to see if the person had passed the mailbox or not, he continued twirling the cigar, "Would you care to talk to me for a moment?" His demeanor was as sincere as he could make it, attempting to sound more business than anything else. It was not his wish to scare his charge, if he did so, but how else was he supposed to meet her? It wasn't the best way, Val knew, but it seemed the appropriate way under the circumstances. "Care for a cigar?" he asked, extending his cigar out into the crisp night air. Val figured that he could feel Cherie's presence among the stillness of the night, it being one of cold and of lacking something in the world. It had become customary for him to 'feel' his surroundings by the auras emitted from beings, so he was very sure that Cherie was indeed there. He had to trust this sense now. His refusal to look up justified this.

Victor closed his eyes in thought, thinking back. "Hmm... I'd say... well... I'm not entirely sure. Quite a few years, though. Let's just say back then I was... sick." Victor said, leaving it at that. Victor let out a small sigh, forcing the thoughts of when he was a maniac to the back of his mind. When Amber asked a question, however, he looked back up.
"Yes... I am actually a Vampire, and no. You are not imagining things. The only reason I can walk around during the day is because of the almost constant cloud cover." Victor explained, making sure his voice was sincere. He wanted; rather, needed Amber to beleive him. If she kept refusing the truth that he was a Vampire Victor would find himself in a quite unfavorable situation.
