Aikiko Yakoma sat cross-legged in the middle of a forest, piping a tune on her flute. Her blue hair swayed across her shoulders as her head bobbed back and forth. Half-lidded cerulean eyes glimmered softly in the morning light, as her music echoed through the mostly silent forest. Her main pair of arms were holding her pipe, fingers dancing along the keys; her second, smaller pair were holding onto her satchel. A small brown rabbit paused and looked up at her with its black, dew-bright eyes. Its ears gave a thoughtful twitch as it surveyed her. There was no sense of wariness in that look--no sense of evaluation. It already knew she was no predator, and that she wouldn't harm it. A small, bitter smile crossed Ai's face. If only other humans were the same...

Seij had eaten and had just left the restaurant. As he walked outside his long silver hair floated behind him, being thrown around by the slight breeze which flowed through the city. He looked around for a moment before shoving his hands in his pocket and heading for the park. I've got nothing else better to do. I'm not tired, not hungry, and I'm sure as hell that no one I know would be around today. Seij thought glumly as he headed towards the park.
As the park came into view, Seij looked around. The city was completly different from the night before. The whores were gone and now respectable people roamed the streets, most likely heading to work, and more cars were on the roads. Seij sort of stuck out in this atmosphere, his white clothes, and silvery hair seperating him from the norm.
As he enetered the park, Seij mentally thanked the Gods. It still isn't busy here. For Seij the park was almost like going to a spa. Relaxing and refreshing. The open space, dotted with trees of different species, as well as the odd cluster of flowers felt quite tranquil. I guess a sit-down by the lake will start my day off right. Seij thought, seeing the lake between some trees. He made his way to one of the trees lining the lake and sat down, completly oblivious to Shrian and Kira, who were only about ten feet away. As he sat down, he closed his eyes, and placed his hands behind his head, using them as a sort of pillow. He let out a small sigh of relaxation as the warmth of the sun played over his features, and a small breeze played with his hair.

Ai stowed her pipe in her satchel and began to walk aimlessly. She was glad that this forest was protected by the government; otherwise, she would have no home. What little money she had was carefully proportioned out for food and water--there was nowhere near enough to rent an apartment in a city... Speaking of cities... The forest ended abruptly at a six foot tall, chain link fence, with barbed wire at the top. On the other side of said fence was a large, grassy expanse of land, with trees doted here and there. A gravel path meandered across her view, and she spotted a little wooden bench along it to her right. Beyond this small field, she could see buildings. This must be a public park. Ai climbed nimbly up the fence, her extra pair of arms helping her keep her balance as she neared the top. Carefully, so as not to tear her already-tattered brown dress, she slipped through the barbed wire and jumped to the ground. Dusting herself off, she walked the ten or eleven paces to the gravel pathway and headed to the right.

Iris eyed the meancingly huge eight egg omeltte with something akin to fear. The giant eggy creation had been made on the premise that she was going to be feeding four mouths again. There was no way in hell she was even going to attempt eating the entire thing alone. Even if it's cheese was calling to her and the little bowl of mushrooms was practically singing 'eat meeeee'. Which it wasn't. Because, y'know, I'm not completely insane. Unless this whole wings thing has just snapped my mind in half or something...
"Okay. No." she muttered commandingly to herself. "I'm not even trying it. I'm going to go raid closets. Then I'll eat some eggs and then I'll go outside and the others can feed as they see fit... Damn. That's alot of omelette." She'd cooked larger, more exotic omelettes all the time, but back then she'd been commissioned and was feeding families of six to twelve people. And when cooking for herself, there had never been enough food to over-eat. This was an entirely new phenomenon.
Damn mushrooms and their siren songs...
The meal was still viciously hot too, as was the stove it had been removed from some twelve seconds prior. It could afford some cooling time. With that thought in mind she drifted back to 'her' room and immediately pounced on a dresser.
After two apparent cosplay outfits I don't even want to know... and a series of too-large or too-small clothes, a nice, plain white tank top was found that actually fit. It also had a suspiciously low back... But hey, this was a transcendant safe house. She wasn't going to act surprised by clothing that seemed custom made. Also, anything was better than a one-spaghetti-strap-remaining two day old camisole. Really. Anything.
"I wonder if I can fly with these things...." she asked the air, returning with the same note of forced 'I do not care that there is that much food and it's going to go to waste. Really.' that she had attempted to leave with.
The mass omelette was still there, still folded in half and still mocking her with it's size. "Ah well. If they aren't up soon, they can just have cold eggs. Serves them right for not budging after that scream..."
With an appropriately assuaged conscience, she attacked the eggs ravenously, dousing them in mushrooms with restrained glee. After all, there wasn't much use for manners when there was no one around to reprimand them.

Kira clutched the notebook tightly to her chest, looking more than uncertain. So, he had seen her sketch. Lovely. "Oh." She mumbled under her breath, at a loss for what else to say. Holding the pad of paper a few inches out to study it for a moment, Kira sighed and dropped back down onto the earth. He'd already seen it, so there was no use hiding the drawing any longer. Besides, he was a few feet away. She could simply tilt it away from him, making it difficult to see. With one last wary glance at the stranger, Kira leaned forward and began to draw the lake once again.
Kira was not the girl that made it a habit of noticing who was attractive and who was not, and now was no exception. A person was a person, to her. It would take her much longer than just a few moments to begin to really think about who looked better than who. Usually, the young girl was much more focused on interesting scenery and staying alive. In fact, she was so concentrated on what she was doing at the time that she didn't realize that she had been addressed again. Appearing somewhat startled, Kira looked up and swiveled her head around to stare at him. She had to regain her bearings before she could answer, however, or she would probably just turn out to be a stuttering mess. "To answer your questions in order," She responded, still eyeing him suspiciously. "No and both." She reached to rub anxiously at the back of her neck. It wasn't like her to give out too much information, so she spoke as little as possible. People generally found it irritating that she put up such a wall between her and them, but it was just how she was. She wanted to protect herself. She needed to protect herself. Clearing her throat, Kira turned back to her sketch to begin work on the detail of the lake and the trees surrounding, having decided to leave out the city themed backround.

"Don't speak much, do you?" mused the young man with a slight smile, turning his eyes back towards the lake. Settling back down against the tree comfortably, Shrian's eyes glazed over momentarily, the glassy sheen of the lake's surface just after sunrise captivating him. That, and he was tired; more tired than he'd been in a long while. "Mm...Oh well, I'm not about to force words out of you."
Closing his eyes fully, Shrian listened. He listened to the sounds of the morning, some noises more prominant than others. The chirping of birds, the swaying of trees, the footsteps of those passing by. Listening harder yet, though, one could hear the gentle lapping of the lake water against the sand, and perhaps even the wind as it whispered through the trees.
Snapping out of one of his common dazes, of which he'd grown quite accustomed to, the man stretched, long coat inching unnoticed down his shoulders. Casting a glance back at the girl and her drawing, Shrian tilted his head slightly, eyeing her fingernails with some interest. He voiced nothing, though, prefering not to intrude on her drawing or her personal life. Little things could be taken personally, he'd found.

"Not exactly. I do nt generally chatter away to people I have just met." Kira replied boredly, glancing warily out of the corner of her eye. One thing she noticed was that she thought she had seen a feather or two sticking out of the top of his coat. Her eyes narrowed slightly when she also noticed that he was watching her. Following his line of gaze, she found that he was either looking at her sketch or at her hands. Both of which she did not want seen. Biting her lip as she shifted uncomfortably, Kira began to check over her drawing for mistakes she had made and did not notice previously. She was actually fairly satisfied with her work this time. Normally, she had several things she would have to erase and redo, which was never fun.
Kira, She thought to herself with a sigh and a tilt of her head. Sometimes you have the social skills of a tree stump. Say something, and be friendly you doof! She straightened up and stretched, then leaned back against the tree. Tilting her head to one side, Kira blinked at the boy. "My name is Kira Lee. I'm usually much more friendly when I'm not drawing." She nodded her head toward the notepad, which was now laying on the grass beside her.

[[I'm totally on top of this whole thing. Totally. :3]]
"Ah, well, it's a pleasure to make your aquaintance, Ms. Kira." came Shrian's calm voice, accompanied by a small smile and slight head inclination. "My name is Shrian, and I've lived here for most of my life." As he spoke, the young man made a slightly distasteful face, though broke out into a grin afterwards. "And that's very sensable for you to do. Some strangers in this city can be a bit...Harsh, to say the least. But don't worry," he added, crimson-tinted eyes flicking back up to hers after straying down to her partially hidden drawing. "I'm not 'some strangers'." Flashing another small smirk, Shrian sighed and slid further down the tree trunk, not noticing as more feathers peeked out from beneath his coat.
"I can leave you to your drawing, if you'd like. I know how it can be, believe it or not." Eyes closing for only a brief moment, the youth reopened them with a wry smirk. "Then again, I never really had a talent for art. More of a writer, myself." Head tilting slightly to the right, Shrian inquired something that he'd been wondering for a bit. "But I was wondering what could bring you to this city, seeing as it's a bit dull. And as of late, it's getting a bit dangerous, what with the idiots attempting to anihilate the Transcendants..." he said quietly, trailing off near the end, only to pick back up soon thereafter. "Where do you stand on the issue, Ms. Lee?"

"Yeah, you too." Kira said, almost suprised at herself, but then she was distracted when he called her Ms. Kira or Ms. Lee. No one, in her entire life, had ever called her Ms.. Her brow frurrowed slightly, but otherwise she let it go.
Shrian didn't seem like the type to talk as much as he was. At least not as first impressions would go. So when he spoke of how long he'd lived here in this town and then his comment about 'some strangers,' she actually found herself smiling. "Well that's nice to know." As she spoke, her eyes slid to his back, where she was almost certian she could see a few feathers peaking out from beneath his coat. She blinked once, then shifted her gaze back to his eyes. "That's alright. I was pretty much done, anyway." She waved her hand dismissively. "I'm just the opposite. I'm not much of a writer. I mean, I can write," she added quickly in her defence. "I've just always been a better artist." Her shoulders sagged slightly, or at least they did until he mentioned why she was here. Then, she straightened up and stared at him.
"I'm just a traveler." She replied. "I don't exactly belong anywhere, so I'll probably be leaving this town fairly soon. I've not yet found a reason to stay anywhere. As for Transcendants, I think people should just leave them alone. I'm getting tired of being... er, I mean, them being hunted. I don't think it's right." Then she added under her breath so he could hopefully not hear. "The bastards."

((Hey everyone, just want you to know a few things.
First of all, 'Syth (Also known as Nephthys Assyria/[unseen].[censer]) has 'quit' Gaia. Just because she quit doesn't mean she should be cut off from Koiji ^^;. Anyways, that, and the mention that she's trying to pry herself from the internet. How do I know? I called her yesterday and got the news. She hasn't logged into her IMs since the 7th/8th.
Secondly, Metamorphosis will have a restart. Not in a complete wipe of everything that's happened, but I'll be reposting it as soon as I tally up the latest TXP counts. WHich probabily won't be awhile.
I probabily won't get to posting until later on though.))

Shrian's smile faultered. He'd been watching her eyes, as was customary to him, only to find that her gaze had traveled to his back. The young man tensed slightly, jaw tightening for only a moment before relaxing. The pleasant smile returned just as flawless as before, his shoulders shrugging upwards to cover the protruding feathers that had now nearly turned an incredibly dark grey, though hadn't quite hit pitch black.
Bomber's jacket now fixed once again, feathers all covered once more, he tilted his head at her words. "Seems like a lonely life that you live. Haven't you ever wanted to stay in one place and get to know someone? Haven't you ever met someone that you're just drawn to, and feel an overwhelming need to stay with?" Shrian blinked.
What was he talking about?
Shaking his head as if to clear his mind, the Transcendant blinked once again. His keen ears had picked up her ever-so soft spoken words. They amused him slightly, and brought a certain amount of curiosity as to why she'd feel so passionate about it. "Well regardless, I've heard some things about people starting hunts for the Transcendants. I don't know how they pick them out from the humans, unless they have an overly obvious ability like—"
He blinked once again. Shrian was getting way too carried away in his conversation. Perhaps he was too trusting of people...
"It'll get dangerous, especially if they resort to random killings. Seems like humans are reverting back to their idiot primal instincts." he said calmly, making a slight face before chuckling lightly. This girl was rather fastinating, he thought.

Kira noticed his reaction, subtle though it was, when she'd seen the feathers peaking out of his jacket. A girl had to know how to read expressions when she was who she was. Or is that a what? Anyway, she was too distracted by his next comment to worry too much about a couple of stray feathers. "I suppose it is." Kira answered dismissively, her eyelids drooping slightly. Had she ever wanted to stay in one place? Yes. Of course she did. Did she want friends? It might be nice. Did she have anyone she felt drawn to or want to stay with? Not that she could remember. She'd kept herself far enough away from others throughout her life that she really didn't know how to answer that.
Realizing that she'd drifted off into thought, Kira smiled. "I don't think so. But oh well. It's not a big deal, right?." The smile faded as quickly as it had come, but she still shrugged it off as nothing and hoped it'd be left at that.
"Hunts for Transcendants?" She echoed, her eyes widened slightly. Why hadn't she heard about this? Just one more reason to be careful. Damn. "I don't think they will. They'd risk killing other humans. I doubt very many Transcendant haters are that desperate." She replied to assure herself of it more than to contribute to the conversation.
Kira blinked twice when he chuckled again. He sure laughed easily, didn't he? She tilted her head a fraction of a millimeter to one side as she attempted to figure him out. Easier said than done.
