He could feel her back away. Every time it was like this, yet he always told the truth. Ready for her to turn and walk or run away, Zhin closed his eyes. A few seconds later, he still felt her presence. He blinked his eyes open. Was she really still there or was it his imagination?

Even more shocking was hearing her voice. Although, he did note the tone of aprehension in her voice. Of course, the same thoughts that ran through everyone's mind. 'A Vampire? Get away, filth!'. It'd happened on more than one occasion, and he wouldn't have been suprised if it happened then.

He blinked yet again as he felt his hair tugged, the girl speaking to him again. He raised his head, eyes looking back into hers once gain. His eyes swiveled back into their cat-like shape, watching her curiously. "Forgive me, madame...I forgot my place..."

Ione kept her hold on his hair for just a moment longer, as if to make sure he was going to meet her gaze for sure now, before slowly letting going and withdrawing her hand. "Well, vampire or not, you still have a white ribbon, and you don't seem like the type that's going to try and eat me so.." Though words were spoken loud enough for him to hear, they were most likely meant for her own reassurance rather than directed at him.

"Oh, I'm sorry.. I hadn't meant it like that. It has nothing to do with 'your place' or anything, I just end up feeling like an idiot whenever the person I'm talking to refuses to look me in the eye." Ione explained with a flicker of a smile, willing herself to at least feign confidence and a fearless disposition, even if her feeling of dread hadn't completely died down. Naturally, the girl was used to people acting so polite and obedient, due to her wealthy background- It was to be expected, after all. Still, she had yet to grow accustomed to talking without being at least looked at. "Tell me something about yourself- Please? I'm curious."

Zhin's lips quirked a small smile, though it was more a smile of hurt understanding than anything. He'd been told he was out of his nature many times, but it didn't bother him much anymore. He was a slave, afterall. What opinions did he have?

"I promise I won't try to eat you, madame, nor will I try to harm you in any way. And please, don't applogise...It was my fault for now minding my place." The way he spoke was so different from that of a natural man, one devoid of emotion and thought. Like...A slave.

When she asked about him though, he blinked yet again. This wasn't normal behavior of a master looking for a slave. Was this girl actually different? "I..." He faltered, never having answered the question before. "My full name is Zhin Gen-Jo Thai...I've been a slave for a little under a year now, and a Vampire for a little over a year...I was shunned by my town after being bitten, and soon after I was found and sold to various different masters, finally ending up here..." He trailed off, but maintained eye contact. He smirked sheepishly, remarking nervously, "I guess that's not exactly the happiest thing to hear..."

Ione felt guilty about being so fearful of him after hearing what he was, truth be told. What right did she have to judge? Ione hadn't meant to make her feelings so obvious, but just wasn't very good at hiding such things. The older of the two glanced away guiltily for a moment, caring not that her brother's advice of being intimidating hadn't been followed, not even at the very start.

"Well, that's alright. No harm done. Oh, and you don't have to call me 'Madame', if you'd prefer to simply call me Ione." Seeming more at ease after having his reassurance of her safety, the sorceress allowed her normal disposition of curiosity and wonder fall back into place. "They shunned you just because of that?! How horrible.." Apparently genuinely appalled at the thought of such treatment, Ione finally took the time to observe him. How different he was, this Zhin Gen-Jo Thai.

"It's not a happy story, but it's the truth and something about you, so I'm glad you shared that with me." Offering a polite and generally cheery smile, Ione crossed her arms. "Er, this might sounds like a strange question but.." Voice lowered slightly, as if she didn't want anyone around them to overhear. "But am I doing this whole 'buying' thing right? I was never told how to act or anything and I've never been in a place like this before so.."

"Hm, then I am supposed to be loud and pompous as well, correct?" Ione mused on the thought for a moment, almost unsurely. Hadn't her elders told her not to be obnoxious? Ah, but perhaps they were referring to only when she was with those where courtesy was required. Based on what she had seen, etiquette wasn't involved in too many of the conversations she had overheard. The relationship between potential masters and slaves seemed to be, in the very least, bitter and vicious.

"The ribbons are pretty.. But I guess what they symbolize wouldn't be considered very tasteful. Let's see- Orange is for pleasure.." Needless to say, that fact caused her to pause in mild bemusement. "Yellow signifies fighting, while green is for companionship, I think. Oh, and blue means powers." Smooth gaze trailed from one ribbon to the next as she mentioned them, silently double checking her assumptions before concluding that she had indeed gotten the labels correct.

The woman thought back to the writing that had been scrawled behind the staircase, recalling its message quite clearly. "Yes, I did. A little unnerving, don't you think? I suppose the actual transaction is simple enough, but I really don't have the slightest idea how to act properly. I'm not sure if I'm capable of acting as.. Um, resentful as the other buyers I've seen. Not that I have anything against them, it isn't my place to doubt the knowledge of those wiser than me, but I doubt I can muster up all that strength and confidence." Running a hand sheepishly through her long, light brown strands, emerald gaze shifted to meet the vampire's gaze once more. "Quite silly of me, eh?"

Sitting back up on his cot again, feeling restless, Alex let out a sigh. Why am I a slave, and not one of those people on the other sie of these bars, the ones not donning these ribbons? Is it fate, or am I just unlucky? Alex thought to himself. He let out another small sigh, not being able to come up with any answers to his own questions. Feeling defeated, Alex lay down on his cot once more, silently hoping to be rid of this place, either in death, in freedom, or just being able to be... bought. Whichever came first, he was looking forward to it.

"I don't believe any of the slaves like a master or mistress who mistreats them, as the loud pompous ones tend to do..." he remarked with a wry smile. "I'd hope you'd be a kinder mistress to whichever slave you choose..." As he spoke, his emerald eyes glimmered at her own green spheres.

"These ribbons wouldn't be anything near pretty if you'd worn them for as long as I have. They're the respresentation of being trapped into this slavery." his voice tightened as he spoke, but softened as he continued. "And yes, you are correct on the ribbon's meanings. Although I do not wear a red ribbon, I could easily complete household tasks."

Zhin actually laughed, though it was a small laugh. It was a relieved laugh, like one who hadn't laughed in ages. "Unnerving, eh? I was only able to read it while being brought down here, though I remember it like I read it yesterday...'All transactions between dawn and dusk', correct? I'll just assume it's daytime then." he said wryly.

"I believe it's good that you're not resentful...A slave would be much more willing to obey and not act up if a buyer would at least give a slight amount of respect to one..." At the sight of her sheepish look, Zhin faltered, noticing once again her beauty. He blushed slightly, though tried to hide it as he spoke again. "Not silly. If anything, I'd say...You're much the wiser in how you act than any buyer I've seen." he said, pupils retracting slightly in the light as she moved.

((*is too lazy to read what I missed*))

The young foxboy sat boredly on his cot, using his illusion skills to his advantage and created a little chessboard for him to play with. He worked out all the possible combinations of moves and all the possible checkmates, stratagies... Soon enough he got bored. This bloody well sucks... He thought and his chessboard disappeared, turning into a softly glowing sphere of 'stuff' that he manipulated into different shapes that suited his fancy. Doran supposed he should try to find ways of getting out, but it all seemed rather hopeless.

{{0.o Did... Did Bittersweet just morph into a buck=toothed peasant? Wow. Crazy stuff.}}

"My, my. He really is an interesting little creature, isn't he?" the twins said, lips moving at the same moment. "A warrior whose life was ruined when he was caught with the enemy. You poor creature." Though their words might have held some echo of sympathy at some point, it was rapidly erased by their obvious scorn for the human.

While these few short sentences were being spoken, the twins were having a back-and-forth argument of sorts in their minds, silent communication.

"Sister, thought he is most tempting, there is no possible way that we can take him. He is much stronger in spirit than anything we could break."
"And certainly he is a real risk for escape. Would it be worth it if he were to attempt to wrench off our wings, brother, and slip off into the night?"
"We could kill him with ease, but to break him would be nigh on impossible."
"He has survivied tortures, and lost everything he had. And still he remains proud. It is so tempting to try but.."
"It would not work and it might have us stripped of ourselves, Sister."
"Still... Can we not mock him further before leaving him to the dogs?"

After only a short moment's pause from the end of their spoken sentences, Absinthe shook his head, answering an question unsaid. "Nay. He is not worth the effort." the male twin said, his voice dripping with hatred rather than the want he and his sister felt. To try breaking this creature would be a futile task, but to the angel's specialising in ruining lives before taking them... It was almost like asking an addict to refuse a stronger high. They could, but it almost physically hurt.
