It wasn’t her place to question. Maybe the Alakazam would know if she’d be allowed to take some choice selections back with her and any limits to the matter. Certainly, they weren’t going to just keep all the babies they hatched holed up at this care center of theirs, could they?
What did they do with the babies? Did they just unleash them into the wild? Give them to trainers, new or old? Sell them? There was a profit to be made selling pokemon, she’d learned that much from brief observations of Juliean’s work. That was yet another question on the long list of questions that needed to be ask before she left this place.
Assuming someone else didn’t ask them first. Or she just forgot as focus turned to more immediate pursuits.

Cloud pouted when Cheri stated that Noah was useless. He wasn't sad that she said it, just sad that Noah was useless. Not having any uses at all wasn't much fun! He kept it to himself and then tucked the thought away when far more exciting things started happening, but Cloud hoped that one day, Cheri would find a use for Noah.
Cloud stared up at Alakazam with wide-eyed wonder. The way she kept poofing in and out was so cool, but the real attention grabber was her beard! It was so white and so fluffy looking, not to mention long! He really... really, really wanted to touch it. The Togepi took two steps towards their new companion, one arm half extended. But then, Cheri spoke up and he remembered what they were doing.
"I would, thank you~" Cloud happily accepted his friend's offer and spun around to address his faithful 2nd-in-command. "We're getting ready to head out, Blobby. Make sure to grow legs again, okay?"

Alakazam kept her gaze on the unblinking pink cat, once the odd egg went away. She considered their plan for the space of a breath and nodded, nodded, then shook her head. "There is none. Cotton candy, that is. Newborns need a well-balanced diet made up of nutritious and healthy foods. — especially in the first few days. Cotton candy is neither of those things."
Above her head, five spoons began spinning rapidly then faster still until they were no longer cutlery but a faint, gray circle; almost like a halo. Then, just like that, they froze in place. "Are you four hungry? I can take you to the lake first then go back for food."

As Alakazam and Cheri discussed their itinerary, Cloud and Blobby worked on getting the eggs into the new wagon. Well, Cloud was—because he didn't need help—Blobby just watched him with its signature open-mouthed smile and thought on its latest task: grow legs. It wasn't an impossible ask especially now that it knew how to transform, and it had the feel of it down!
Cloud hummed a tune as he waved his arm like a baton to guide the eggs into their new nest. They bobbed and dipped in the air before making a safe landing down on the plastic. Something cool and squishy touched his shoulder and Cloud turned around to find himself face-to-face with himself! Or... a version of himself, the face was almost 2D. It took him a second or two to grasp the situation. "Oh, Blobby!" He patted his twin's head. "Aw, you decided to grow Cloud legs... and body! I'm flattered~" Bloud chirped in response, pleased. Clearly, that was what it'd been going for.

Cheri stared long and hard at Alakazam. Had she heard that correctly? There was no cotton candy? The rest of the other pokemon’s comments were lost in the void of disappointment that took over. "… Oh." She stated flatly. Well, that was something that would have to change. Her gaze focused on the halo of spoons hovering above the other’s head. "I like your spoons. Why so many? Do you collect them?" She inquired. Juliean’s didn’t have that many spoons, only the standard two. Was it a common collectible amongst their kind?
She considered the offer of food, glancing back at Castle and then over to Cloud and Blobby. "I would like cotton candy please." She reiterated, as though somehow that request would change the facts stated earlier. A paw pressed against her cheek in thought. "I don’t know what you’d feed Castle. I think dirt? Or bricks? It is a building. What do you eat Castle?"
Castle rumbled in response to the question and Cheri found herself at odds with what it could’ve meant. The Stakataka had a lot of eyes, but no mouth from which to speak, and the Espurr had failed to consider this limitation. "What would you like to eat?" She inquired mentally. Castle’s many ‘eyes’ blinked, shifting around in uncertainty before finally pinpointing onto the Espurr.
’We don’t know… Cheri, for the first time since being here, blinked as a cacophony of tiny voices resonated in response to her inquiry. She stared at the baby long and hard. Well, that was certainly not something she’d expected. And it’d given her a slight headache to have so many at once.
"Okay. We’ll find you something once we get to the lake," she said and glanced back to Cloud again. "Cloud are you hungry? Beardia is willing to get us something to eat." The Espurr inquired of her friend, trying her own had at the assigning of nicknames. The Alakazam did have a magnificent beard after all and the only other suitable observation for a nickname would've had to do with spoons.
Alakazam kept quiet as the kitten digested the news, her disappointment was palpalable and it was only appropriate that she gave her time to... grieve? Alakazam raised her eyes to her spoons and settled them with a thoughtful expression while they began spinning again, at a much slower rate. "Thank you. I didn't collect them, but when my trainer gave me what humans call a 'Mega Stone' the original two spoons split into five," she eventually explained and then quickly added, "I don't know how or why they did that though."
Hm. She didn't understand Cheri's obsession with cotton candy. "I'll ask the volunteers what they'd suggest feeding a pokemon this large," Alakazam said, though she was aware that a second conversation had begun between cat and building. The Psi pokemon fell back on her silence—her natural state—then began scanning the minds of those just beyond their little group; not in search of thoughts but the emotions that rode on them.
It helped pass the time, even if it was an invasion of privacy.

Was he hungry? What a great question! Cloud didn't even need to think about it to know the answer either. Instead, he turned to Bloud and repeated Cheri's question: "Are you hungry, Blobby? Oh! Gasp! This will be your first time tasting food, right? How exciting!" The Togepi didn't even wait for an answer before he went zipping off to Cheri. Bloud let him leave without complaint. So that was the word for the empty feeling in his belly, and here he'd been calling it 'the nothing'.
As loyal as they came, Bloud had every intention of following his commander before an all too familiar sound had him backpedaling quickly, and nearly toppling over in the process. The dots that were Bloud's eyes stared blankly at the swirly-eyed bear that was still in the wagon, then at the giant-jawed bird thing that had fallen out onto the grass. "Dit!" He greeted them cheerfully, gave them their customary welcome-to-the-world head pats, then turned away from the wagon and them to grab replacement eggs.
"We both would, yes, thank you!" Cloud announced when he'd gotten closer to the girls. "And thank you, Beardia! I waaaaaant, a box of doughnuts for me and Blobby!" Beardia, who didn't seem to mind the nickname, only shook her head. "We don't have doughnuts," she replied. "But, you two have eggs that are hatching."

One moment he was at a pokemon center, the next Bolt found himself outside in what was either a small field or a very large yard. Almost immediately the corgi pokemon could smell a variety of pleasant flowers growing nearby, and he could see several bushes dotting the area. There were also some small buildings off in the distance with several other pokemon rushing in and out. "Oh, that must be where they needed help with the eggs," the small electric type said to himself before bounding over. "Hi, hi, hi!" he greeted as he got closer, pretty much his whole butt wiggling back and forth as his stubby tail wagged happily. "I'm here! How can I help?"
One of the pokemon, a buneary, giggled a bit at the electric dog's greeting. "Oh hi there! Thank you for coming to help," she said, then started to hop into the nearest shed. "Come on, I'll help you get set up!""Okay!" Bolt yipped enthusiastically as he followed the bunny pokemon inside. She was already jumping up to grab one of the eggs from a shelf. "You just need to keep some of these eggs company," she explained after landing, then held out the egg she'd grabbed for him. "There's a whole bunch here, so feel free to take on as many as you can handle!""Okay! ...Um... How am I going to bring it with me?" As Bolt tilted his head in thought, the buneary gently set down the egg. "...Hm..."

"A megastone?" Cheri asked with piqued interest. "An evolution stone? I’ve seen those before, are they bigger rocks that pokemon eat to change?" Because those were the only stones she knew capable of altering a pokemon’s appearance, but she’d never heard them referred to as ‘mega’. "I would like one, please."
Her head bobbed in a nod. They would certainly come to see the importance of cotton candy in a growing baby’s diet. The surge of energy (among other things) could be nothing but good for them in the long run, though the response that there were no doughnuts further soured her attitude. What was this place, not have the basic food necessities? At least, Cheri considered them necessities. These babies were doomed.
"Oh." Cheri turned to look at the wagon, already seeming shimmers of light and figures flopping free from their egg casings and onto the grassy patches below. "Doughnuts would be nice." She added onto Cloud’s response as though indicating to Beardia she really ought to check for those too because real food was not welcomed here. "Castle might like doughnuts, they’re easy to share. And they make great crowns, we could have a halo just like you."
With her questionable attempts to convince the Alakazam to bring them the sugar, Cheri toddled over to the wagon to check her collection of eggs. The bearded pokemon wasn’t wrong, one had already hatched and was sitting empty in the wagon. Odd, was it the grey dragon-looking thing that had flopped out?
“Phiooooo~” her attention shifted to the blue blob hovering just above the cart, giggling and wiggling in newborn excitement. Ah, that must’ve been the missing baby. Its head looked like an inverted raindrop; maybe it was a water pokemon? She could question later as the sounds of cracking caught her attention and she tugged the last remaining eggs from the wagon. It was surprising how quickly they were hatching. They’d never get to the lake at this rate.
She pulled the remaining four from the wagon and set them safely off to the side and beginning, much like Blobby to aid in refilling their collection. There was a pause though as the ground rumbled and Cheri looked to her eggs. One had sprouted a beautiful cotton candy pony and she was in absolute awe. If only it'd been pinker instead of purple. Was it cotton candy? She'd now have to find out.
The other? Another Giratina. Cheri stared, craning her neck back to look up at yet another freshly hatched devil baby. "Hello again."

"Pokemon eat rocks to change their forms?" That was the first question that Alakazam—from this point on 'Beardia'—had in response to Cheri's many. She hadn't witnessed this personally, but this world was vast and its many many many occupants were all odd. In their own ways. Cheri and Cloud, the former especially, were definitely odd; but, it wasn't without its charm, she supposed. Beardia carried right along, "Mega Stones are bigger, yes. But, most pokemon choose to simply hold onto it, or keep it on them; it's the contact that matters, so... I suppose there are some pokemon who might've ingested theirs. I'm not one of them though." The pokemon shook her head, gently. "You'll have to ask the one you call Lala for one, Mega Stones are... not rare, but certainly uncommon. But, even then, it's not guaranteed that you'll change. These stones only work with certain types of pokemon."
And Beardia couldn't—wouldn't—say if Cheri was one of those pokemon. This was something best discovered on your own. And... she'd already disappointed the young pokemon enough.
Both, it seemed: Cloud noticeably deflated when he was told there weren't doughnuts to be found. "A halo made out of doughnuts?" There was a long silence after, though it was hard to call it 'silence' with the perpetual sound of eggs hatching in the background. Then, Beardia sighed. "I'll see what I can do. But, I can't guarantee I'll find any sweets— or if I do, that they'll be cotton candy or doughnuts." At this news, the baby pokemon perked right up, "Okay! Thank you, Beardia~" She nodded back, then looked over to the wagon where Cheri now was.

Bloud gave Cheri a single glance and a wave when she approached before going right back to refilling the wagon. The babies were coming as fast as he could replace them, and some were even faster than that! Bloud was moving as fast as his tiny legs would allow him though, and thankfully they were never too far away from other eggs. Because there were a lot of them, a ton of them! More than he could even count, though that didn't mean much when the Ditto didn't know how to count. "Where did my egg come from?"
There were those things called 'thoughts' again.
He'd just managed to slip an egg just over the lip of the wagon when two things happened: two eggs hatched simultaneously, and Beardia blinked in beside Cheri. Bloud stopped what he was doing to deliver both head pats to the long-necked dinosaur and its jingly, wobbly floating, pointy-headed companion The dinosaur cooed softly and lowered its head to snuggle Bloud but the pointy-headed one just stared, and he stared back. Then, he turned to Beardia, "Dit?"
She nodded her head, "Yes, I am", though her attention was divided by three between Cheri, Bloud, and the giant baby pokemon that towered above them. "You have a knack for hatching legendaries," was her only comment as she tossed a quick glance at the Phione still in the wagon. "The eggs are finished hatching. I'll take you four to the lake then grab your food while I hand the babies over. Are there any you'd like to stay with you?"

"Pokemon eat a lot of things to change." Cheri said, as though it were a reasonable response to the Alakazam’s. She listened intently to the explanation, though her head did tilt slightly to the left. "I see. I will ask him." The Espurr paused a moment longer. She hadn’t revealed her trainer’s name at any point to Beardia. Of course, the other was a psychic and so maybe, much as Cheri did from time to time, she’d done a little probing of her own. Was that rude? She didn’t think it was very rude. "… I’m sorry my trainer sounds silly."
"A bag of sugar is also acceptable." Because sugar was the basis of most sweets. So a bag of it would likely work in place of the sweets themselves, right? "Yes, thank you Beardia." One matter finally down, another to go.
"I do." Cheri added the last of the new eggs to the wagon, watching as a big-headed dinosaur lumbered into view chomping on what appeared to be a chain of armored peas shimming their way across the grass. Judging by the flecks of eggshells stuck between each pod, that must’ve been one of the eggs from the wagon. The Falinks certainly had soldier-minion potential, but not if it was going to be stuck together like that.
"Okay, that would be nice. The eggs hatch so quickly, we’ll never get the chance to teach them to swim," and that would be a real shame. She grabbed the handle of the wagon once more, assuring that all eggs were carefully positioned and weren’t already in the process of hatching before toddling towards the Alakazam and gesturing for her to lead the way. They were going to walk there, she assumed.
"I would like to keep Castle and the pony." Cheri pointed at the pretty Galar Ponyta who had taken to snuffling some nearby grass. When the time was right, the Espurr would check to see if it was made of cotton candy with those colors, but she had an inkling suspicion that doing so would be frowned upon in her current company.
