Kojiro followed Kenshin in silence for the bulk of their walk to the Compound. As they entered the building, it was clear to the entire precinct that Kenshin was sour today. It seemed like he was not wasting time today as he bolstered directly to the file for Kojiro that laid in the cabinet in his office. It was a shock, honestly. Kojiro felt like he had just left the academy...no just left Seizan. Now, he had earned his way to the title of Chuunin. Better yet, he had gained his title and status as an officer of the force from Kenshin himself. After signing, sealing and delivering the envelope to the courier, Kenshin and Kojiro began to review files of fifty of Arashigakure's most wanted. It was astonishing to him, having moved what seemed like almost instantly through the blur of tape to gain his rank. He felt as though it were easy, though all could attest he had earned his way to now, standing aside Kenshin as they searched for the criminals. Before leaving the two secured their supplies and headed to the streets.

__ Kenshin arrived in the prison section of the CORE Compound dragging a chain gang of ten behind him. Kojiro was with him with his ten arrested suspects as well. All of Kenshin's suspects were either impaled or tied up by Nuibari. Once they were in the secured part of the prison, their fingerprints and photos were taken as Kenshin released them from their confines one by one. The jailers were incredibly impressed by the two officers being able to dispatch of an entire gang in only an hour. Kenshin filed the paperwork about the suspects for the benefit of the interrogators later. Once Kojiro would finish the procedure for the criminals he arrested Kenshin would place his APD badge in his hand with his name on it. "My recommendation was approved by Lord Toso, it's official." His tone was flat but he was undoubtedly proud of his student. "No time to celebrate though, there's more work to be done." Kenshin then left the CORE Compound to find the second gang and complete his round of missions for the APD.

__ Once Kenshin arrived in the CORE Compound prison he did all of the necessary paperwork for the processing of the suspects. "All the arrested suspects are alive but some are in need of medical attention." The captain warned the jailers as he checked them in one by one. Their fingerprints and mugshots were taken as they were escorted to their cells without a hitch. Most of them were barely able to move from the immense pain of being roughed up, petrified, or electrocuted. However, in the end, a gang that was committing horrible crimes in the village was completely crushed. Once this work was done he would meditate and wait for Kojiro and speak to him outside of the processing center. "You've gained strength through honor, courage, and discipline. You should train at the dojo or academy before taking your next assignments. I have business elsewhere to prepare the village for the attack." After that private conversation was concluded, Kenshin bowed to his student more as an equal and took his leave.

SHIONxxxxxMORI It wasn't long after her less-than-fruitful attempt to appeal the Hiroki's inner inspiration, if it even existed, that they would arrive at the CORE compound. "Well... here's work... and home of King Narc himself," she'd say, words slowly turning to a grumble as she looked back to see if Hiroki had decided to follow along. Whether or not this was the case, she'd make her way to the APD sector of the compound, entering into the main office's lobby. It was unfamiliar turf for her, despite working in the same site, so she'd approach the secretary for once in her life. Leaning against the front desk with her elbow, she'd ask, "Hey... is Kenshin in?"
Kojiro followed shortly behind the chain gang of new inmates. These gang members had proven to be quite the work out. Kenshin stood before Kojiro now as it seemed their day of crime fighting was coming to a close. His teachers words would ignite a desire to ascend even further. Kojiro knew his efforts being so fruitful were largely in part to his mentor's interests in him. Without Kenshin, Kojiro would still be dawdling about with other genin from his graduating class that remained in their lower ranking teams. As a Chuunin, Kojiro knew a large responsibility fell upon his shoulders. He would bow to Kenshin. " Thank you for your continued support, teacher." with that he would turn and make his way for the door, waving his hand as he broke into a sprint for the dojo. As he darted out the door, he would pass the Shion, he nodded in acknowledgement as he vanished from sight using the body flicker technique.

A stern police officer looked over the desk at Shion who asked if "Kenshin" was in. She would respond politely but with a flat, no-nonsense tone. "You must mean Captain Kosei." She then grabbed a clipboard from off her desk and slide it across the surface. "Sign in please." She then went back to working on the giant stack of files on her desk. The sign in sheet included a space for name, date of arrival, and the time of appointment.
SHIONxxxxxMORI Shion would simply roll her eyes and sigh at how rigid the desk-cop was. "Whatever, weiner. You know what I mean," she'd reply, taking the clip board and filling it out.
Once she received the clipboard from Shion she read it over and picked up the radio. She called into Kenshin's secure radio line and mentioned that Shion Mori was in his office at the recommendation of the Arashikage. Kenshin would respond stating that he was in transit and would return to the village soon. Once that conversation was over she would look up from her desk at Shion. "Captain Kosei is returning to the village from an important mission and is currently on the road. He'll be here in the next hour or so if you want to take a seat." Her words were polite but she was not looking forward to any more snarky comments from the rebellious youth. Kenshin needed to retrieve Belamos on Toso's orders in preparation for the attack and was still on the Land of Floods main road with him but would make his way to the CORE Compound immediately on arrival.

__ Kenshin stepped into the CORE Compound. He saw Shion in the lobby as expected from the call he got on his radio on the road. Kenshin waved his hand to her as he unlocked his office door. If Shion followed him then he would shut the door behind her and sit behind his desk. "Your presence is requested by me in the vanguard squad in front of the Fake Floodgate. A rogue organization called Kogarashi has raised an army and they're coming to attack Arashigakure. They're anarchists who've devastated order in this world for far too long. A squad of some of the strongest Storm ninjas will be waiting in front of the fake gate to challenge the Kogarashi leaders. Our army will face their's in the field. Toso and many others will stay in the real village should the worst happen." The CORE Commander took a moment to breathe after giving a summation of the intel and details of the mission. He pressed a button on his desk to speak to central command. "Send agents to tell Freya Uchiha, Aurelia Karna, and Nohea to meet Belamos Karna at the gates immediately." He then released his finger from the button before returning his attention to Shion. "You'll be informed when it's time. Any questions?" If Shion had any inquiries or need for clarification then he would answer them in response but would be brief as there was much for him to prepare. She was free to refuse his request but he chose her for the vanguard squad because he was well aware of her advanced abilities as a Jinchuuriki which would be vital in facing the Jinchuuriki leaders of Kogarashi.

SHIONxxxxxMORI Once Kenshin gave her the signal to follow him into his office, Shion would naturally leave the poor cop at the desk alone, but not before holding her hand up to her ear like a phone and mouthing call me to the poor cop behind the desk as she left. Once the two had entered the privacy of Kenshin's office, Shion would take her usual position posted up against the wall bordering the door-frame. She'd wait and intently listen to the police chief's explanation, then take a moment to think on what was said before she answered. The offer was certainly tempting, but why choose her? Shion was well aware of who Kogarashi was; you dont exactly keep a low profile when you blow up a village to start a war. They were obscenely powerful, well above what Shion was capable of... would she really be able to help? "So... you really want me there? These guys are way out of my league, dude."
__ Ada entered the compound's lobby with Vala and Yarugi close in tow. However, this was not before Yarugi commented, "Still, Captain, I can't believe they managed to actually get a whole village to stay up in the sky like this." Vala retorted, "From what my family has said, apparently the new Arashikage is surprisingly resourceful and... eccentric." With Vala's family ties to what was basically the Emperor's personal banker, knowledge of the flow of money in the Land of Floods was a somewhat common conversational topic. She herself was less interested in the politics than simply distinguishing herself to support her family's honor. Ada Rio-Kyuri was quite well known and somewhat of a role model for her to aspire toward. "Alright you two. Time to make a good impression, so be at attention." The pair would acknowledge their leader's order as they walked into the building. To Ada's surprise, they would lay eyes upon their new commanding officer sooner than later. Internally, Ada sighed hoping she had finished gathering her thoughts for how to properly approach this development without slighting Kenshin further. 'I do not know if a mere apology will suffice, but it should at least be an acceptable start.' Though their tension was born from a misunderstanding, it was in part her fault for that misunderstanding having taken root. He was surprisingly vulnerable and emotional then, and she had underestimated his mental state while also overestimating her own discretion. She knew that and would make an effort to avoid the same mistakes. The trio would wait quietly on parade to speak with Kenshin when he was available.
__ Kenshin's dark blue eyes with a floral pattern would revert to their white, expressionless state as Shion asked her question from her curious position on the wall. This was a question that he did not expect out of her although he clearly did not know her very well. He expected that she would be overconfident. Though he would never admit it, he was dreading this battle terribly knowing that he was drastically outgunned until he reached enlightenment with Evergreen to achieve the Tenseigan and the sage arts. "I'm not sugar coating this for you. It's going to be the hardest mission of your career. The vanguard will likely be me, you, Belamos, Ada, Selina, Kojiro, and Kagerou." His voice was much less tense than usual with Shion when he described the plan. He was flatly factual about the situation, but he was assured that they would succeed based on what Evergreen told him. Kenshin also wanted to make it clear that Shion would not be alone in this. "You're a Jonin of this village, a veteran of the UHV war, and a Jinchuuriki. You've earned your place in service." His tone indicated a certain level of respect that he had not shown her at any point previously. The commander knew that Shion was a fine choice for the vanguard and needed to communicate this to her. While he never approved of her childish and rebellious activities around the village he was confident that she would defend her home when called to serve. These actions were the most patient and kind that Kenshin could muster at this time for Shion's benefit but not for a lack of effort. He understood the significance of the ask and would not take it for granted. He heard a knock at his door and listened to the secretary announced that there were more in the lobby waiting for him. "There's much to do, Mori. I'll see you out there with the others. Train hard and prepare yourself." Kenshin stood from his desk and bowed to her as an equal before opening his door and ushering her out. He knew that Shion would not turn down the opportunity to defend her home and teach Kogarashi a lesson. His presumption was not to be rude but to display his faith in her decision although she may not sense that from him.
As Kenshin stepped out he immediately saw Ada standing in the lobby and his eyes sharpened on her. "Hmph." Ada was the last person that he expected in his office after his loud outburst toward her. What was equally surprising was that she had no need to walk into the CORE Compound as the royal guard captain. Perhaps she was here to tell him that he was wrong for misinterpreting her or to give some sort of overly polite insincere apology. His heart was awhirl in a hurricane mixture of shame from his own behavior and frustration at his perception of her lack of faith in his story. However, her timing was fortuitous because he needed to make a formal request of her presence at the fake Floodgate for the Kogarashi attack. He intended to send a letter along to the emperor so that he could request the time of his royal guard captain. When he stopped in front of her he would not offer a pleasant greeting and instead looked over at the two younger people standing next to her. "Who are these two?" The captain asked with a candor that was perhaps culturally characteristic of Arashigakure and not the snooty imperial city where Ada spent her time. Kenshin was obviously uncomfortable but would soldier onward. He would give them a few moments to speak before turning his attention to Ada. "We have something to discuss regarding the upcoming mission. Come to my office. Just you." Kenshin spoke cryptically about the Kogarashi attack on the horizon. He was much less friendly when speaking to her than the outburst of tenderness that he exhibited before in his elated state of enlightenment. It was as if he were a turtle who was hurt and immediately retracted back into the shell. Kenshin turned around and walked into the office, offered Ada a seat, and would shut the door behind her if she agreed to enter. Once he sat down at his desk he rubbed his temples and sighed to ease his lingering frustration. When he would look at her again his eyes softened and displayed pain. This expression slipped out in private and away from others. He quickly stiffened his lip again because expressing his emotions in any way only served to confuse his longtime friend and comrade. "Do you need something?" At this point he just wanted to know what she wanted from him. He expected her to keep herself professionally distanced from him after that transgression. Kenshin awkwardly looked away from her after asking his question to begin writing the formal letter of request to Emperor Chosokabe for Ada's presence at the Fake Floodgate. Every time he looked at her he only felt the sting from earlier as well as heart racing from his continued admiration of her. It was all a complete catastrophe as far as he was concerned.

SHIONxxxxxMORI Shion would maintain her usual bored expression, but she was containing a rage stirred on by the demon within. The way Kenshin spoke to her, his plan of attack... all of it quickly got under her skin. "So, your plan is to just throw the best we've got at the wall and see what sticks?" That's it. Just try our best and leave Toso, one of maybe two people left that she considered a friend who actually returned the sentiment, defenseless? And what should happen when they all die? If she was going to die, she'd do so with him, not a bunch of nameless nobodies she knew nothing about. Admittedly not the best train of thought, but Shion rarely ever stopped to think beyond her initial gut reations to things... she was certainly among the best, yes, but not the brightest. "Yeah, I'm gonna pass on that one, dude. If we're all out there, then no one is with Toso. I'll stick with him." With that, she'd make her way out of the office, offering a wave back to Kenshin as she left. "Don't die... or whatever." She didn't care what the others thought of her for it, its not like her reputation could get any worse, but she wasn't just going to go off and leave her friend alone like that.
__'Mori? Shion Mori?' The other female's name rang a familiar bell in her memory from the war. They hadn't much interacted, but Ada recalled her name from in some of the ops reports. There had also been a rather hushed suggestion about her position as a host host of one of the bijuu, but it was only just confirmed for Ada in overhearing their conversation. Ada's inner brow sunk somewhat at the young jonin's disrespectful, insubordinate attitude. Alas, she found relief in Shion's disinterest for the operation. It would do those fighting the enemy better to work cohesively than around someone who did not wish to collaborate toward success. There had been many subordinates dismissed under her own leadership for having similar mindsets and failing to understand their duties.
Ada's relief was short-lived and snubbed out very quickly at Kenshin's audible scoff in her direction. The pair standing behind her in their own Royal Guard uniforms did their best to remain at attention; although, Yarugi's carefree smirk turned downward somewhat at the man's scornful, overly analytical gaze set upon him and the other two ladies. "They are my subordinates, Commander Kosei." Ada kept her composure as she answered his question. It was clear to her that Kenshin definitely still had a chip on his shoulder about earlier. Ada didn't even have to look at Yarugi when she raised her hand as a signal to stand down, "Understood." His mouth hung partially agape as his intercepted objection was promptly silenced. Vala glared at her peer out of the peripheral of her view, but remained otherwise pristine in her presentation to the CORE Commander. Without further word, she would leave the two alone in the foyer and followed Kenshin to his office so that they could speak in private.
Ada watched his gestured tells of frustration and stress from the seat offered to her, having little doubt that her very presence seemed to add to everything else he was having to manage as a key leadership figure of Arashigakure. 'This has to end.' Affirmative determination swelled as he asked of her business despite suggesting his own urgency was to be a focus in their conversation. "Yes. Actually, I need a few things..." Her voice trailed somewhat as she stood from her chair to stand closer to Kenshin's desk. "Kenshin... please. Please hear and consider accepting my honest apology." Her hand rested over her heart as she stood before him with the upper half of her body lowered into a thirty degree angled bow. "I caused you to distress due to my poor show of support- both as a college and a friend. Despite what you thought I believed before, I am in fact able believe that you attained great powers from a divine being." Ada rose upright from her apologetic gesture and let her hand settle at her side again. She smiled upon the seated man and continued, "It's insane, but I cannot deny the proof of your Tenseigan. However..." Her voice shifted to something more somber, "I am unable to let go of my concern for that spirit having ulterior motives that may come back to haunt you." It was great that they had the means to fight this apparently terrifying enemy that was expected to arrive at any moment. However, her worry for his sake could not be shaken with a plucky attitude or insubstantial promises. Ada wanted to speak of business and duty, but she would much rather clear the air between them first.
__ Shion being useless to him was not surprising. Although he was already dreading the possibility of working with her so perhaps just leaving her in the village with Toso was for the best. It was more out of necessity that he needed to take every high ranking shinobi and kunoichi. This only exacerbated Kenshin's stress as the Jounin abandoned him and the others to face this threat on their own. He would not forget that and he would not pardon. When he sat across from Ada and looked at her with his pained expression and exhausted eyes he was surprised when she stood. "She's apologizing?" Kenshin was completely shocked, he figured that she would spit in his face after he raised her voice at him. People tended to respond to Kenshin with spite as Shion did. Kenshin often welcomed their hatred in pursuit of his duty, but Ada was someone that he was terrified of truly offending because he actually cared for her. When she stood over his desk he looked up from his letter and saw her angelic face, expressive blue eyes, and her more than ample upper body in full view. Immediately Kenshin felt his typically sallow face become slightly colored. She genuinely apologized to him for failing to communicate as a comrade and friend. When she indicated a personal relationship of any kind he felt his heart skip a beat. Once Ada stood upright again he was able to recompose himself and displayed an even more serious mask as he swallowed his emotions. He gulped when she displayed a smile at him and he rubbed his face to keep his already fragile composure that was showing cracks. This woman was truly his weakness when he felt his crystallized heart melt from her apology. At last, she finished her piece by expressing concern for his wellbeing. "She believed me but she was concerned for my safety." His melted heart then sank as he sat up and regretted the malicious words that he had said to her. It was rare for someone to actually care about him and accept him in this way. He knew that Selina and Kojiro always would but this expression of personal affection was rare from Ada.
Kenshin stood up sharply from his seat to return the respectful bow. His eyes were widened in shock from this entire interaction. "I shouldn't have shouted at you. That was wrong of me." He looked her in the eye when he raised his head again to continue his apology. "I'm deeply sorry for questioning your honor. That was a mistake that I'll never repeat. You're...the most honorable person I've ever met, Ada Rio-Kyuri." This was the highest compliment that Kenshin had ever given anybody and it was true. Kenshin respected Jay, Shiro, Selina, Kojiro, and many others but their sense of honor was exceeded by Ada's in his view. Kenshin was genuinely impressed that this woman sought him out to apologize for what was his over-emotional mistake entirely. Ada had earned the benefit of the doubt from him for good at this point. As he sat down again his gaze never left her and his expression was rarely trusting. "I...can't believe that you came back to me to tell me this after what I said to you. I think you might be right to be worried. I'll be careful. But all Evergreen asked of me was that I use my power to protect this village and the laws of nature. I'll fulfill that purpose as long as it doesn't conflict with my other responsibilities." Thoughts were awhirl in his head even as he spoke to her conceding to her point. He was willing to surrender himself to her because of Ada's sincere concern and willingness to see through his frustration. "I swear it." Kenshin made this promise to her that he would never let this divine experience get in the way of his crusade for justice. His words were meant to reassure this woman who showed care for him in only the way that his other friend Selina had. However, the concern that Ada displayed to him felt...different than it did from Selina. They were both very kind to him but in their own distinct ways. "I haven't forgiven anybody in my life for anything. When a transgression happens then the price must be paid." Kenshin's eye for an eye outlook had never faltered. He trailed off but would look back at her again. "Except for right now. I forgive you completely. Do you forgive me?" Kenshin's transgression against her was much worse than he believed and outweighed his misperception greatly. He would accept if she did not forgive him but his heart hoped that she would give him another chance.
Personal Attributes • Piercing Accuracy | The clansman is more proficient than his fellow clan members at striking tenketsu. One's gentle fist application allows them to reduce 1.5 times the amount of chakra spent in a jyuken strike instead of 1.25. For example, if one spends 100 chakra on a gentle fist technique, the attack robs the target of 150 instead of the 125 normal clansmen would reduce. • Purest Lineage | The clansman's thoroughbred lineage allows them access to the Byakugan without the use of a hand seal, chakra cost, or activation. In addition, should they unlock the Tenseigan, they may have 50% less reserves to maintain it than other clan members and may also activate the Tenseigan without the use of a hand seal, chakra cost, or activation. • Physical Prowess | The Hyuuga gains a slight increase to reflex OR speed per body rank. This totals in a supreme increase for one or a moderate increase for both at S-Rank. In addition, the user gains a single custom slot to be used exclusively for the gentle fist style and one taijutsu slot. • Armory of Justice | Kenshin receives one free custom weapon.
Nuibari Attributes • Infinite Needles | While Nuibari functions perfectly fine as a long, thin blade that sits between a Jian and a Foil. It's comprised of infinite, instantly replenishing needles. If an opponent is stabbed, the blade will leave several needles inside of the opponent. It also never runs out of string either, with one at the base of the weapon, and one attached to each needle. Similarly, unhindered, the weapon always comes back when thrown for the techniques below, and can be pulled to the user free of activation via its wire so long as the nigh-invisible string is not cut. • Thread the Needle | This skill increases the speed of the wielder moderately while Nuibari is wielded.
