He smiled trotting to catch up he could almost forget where they were headed and what would happen when they got there... almost. The thought still settled uneasily in the back of his mind so he focused his mind instead on Oliver and Electra as well as Odessa and himself planning for the future something he had never done before. And then he stopped. Those unsettling thoughts telling him don't plan yet you're only going to set yourself up for more pain this could all be taken away from you in an instant he winced at his own minds words, no best to keep his mind clear of all thoughts as open as the grasslands he visualized a cloudless blue sky over an endless sea of lush green grass undulating in the gentle breeze the air was crisp and clean filling his lungs and easing his mind his center clicking into place. There was nothing left to do but continue the walk, thankfully thane's cave was peeking through the trees, "There it is." they were almost there, this was almost over, however it would end, they were almost there.

Odessa and the others walked a little more before finally reaching the cave, Odessa stopped outside and took a deep breath and let it out, wondering if she should go in yet or if she should call out, making sure the other was around or something but Electra decided that for her.
Electra ran into the cave after Morpheus and Calliope, them saying something about having always been allowed into Sayako and Morpheus' cave whenever they felt like it, regardless what time of the day it was and that the amount of pranks they pulled on each other by coming over unannounced to set them up etc were some of the most fun times they could of shared with each other.
Odessa tried to grab her sister before she went inside but was too late "Electra!" She said as she ran in after her, stopping when she saw Electra had stopped and was looking at a sleeping Thane.
Thane had cried himself to sleep, a lone candelabra of three candles lit beside him and paw on a photo, it was a beautiful summers and the four of them looked so happy laying by the lake.
Odessa pulled her sister back a little as she went over and tried to wake Thane, stopping as she got closer and saw the photo.
"I remember that day" Morpheus said, smiling sombrely, standing over Thane next to Odessa "it was the day I had asked Calliope to become my mate, it happened in front of Sayako and Thane, wanting their approval more then anything, we did everything together so it was only right they approved of us becoming mates or at least had an opinion on the matter and a amature photographer came by, needing a subject to photograph for his project and picked us" he said as he nuzzled his mate who was now near him.
Electra stood a little behind her sister and the ghosts as she quietly retold what Morpheus just said.
Odessa bit back tears, seeing them altogether and hearing about them all seemed to just hit home at how close they were moreso, before now she had a fair idea but the more she heard about them the more saddened by the thought they could no longer be together "i...if I may ask" she said softly, trying to mask the emotion in her voice as best as she could "how long was it, after you lot met, that you both got together?"
"Well Sayako and I had known each other since we were both babies so we grew up together and as for Morpheus and Thane, they had known each other since they were in their adolescence stage though stuff happened and Thane and Morpheus parted ways only to meet up with each other later on in their lives, they were best friends before and hated losing touch with each other but they rekindled that friendship when they met again.
"So" Morpheus spoke up "we have all known each other for about eight years or so and became so close you couldn't tear us apart even if you wanted to but it was about four years after we all met that I asked Calliope to be my mate" he said as he softly sighed "and not a day goes/went by that I don't regret my decision to stay by her side" he said as he smiled at his mate, he would of hated himself for the rest of his life if he gave up that beautiful woman who bore him his gorgeous son.
Electra told Odessa what was just told to her and sat down, knowing this was going to take a while so she decided to get comfy.
Before Odessa could respond Thane moved and had started to wake up, stretching he opened his eyes and blinked at Odessa and her sister "er...hi, can I help you, Odessa or do you have this strange habit of watching others when they sleep?" He said half jokingly, half scared she DID have some sort of strange habit that involved watching people sleep.
Odessa shook her head "no, I don't, I was looking at that photo" she said, moving it around so that it was properly in front of her "you were all so happy..."
Thane smiled a little, remembering the day again "yes...we were..." he said softly, his eyes still full of pain and sadness.
Calliope wanted to reach out and nuzzle him, pat his shoulder, ANYTHING that would make Thane know she and Morpheus were there one last time.
"I know my darling, I want to let him know that we are here one last time as well but we can't, not yet anyway, let us wait till we have Saya" he said as he just placed a paw around her and held her close.
Calliope buried her head into her mates shoulder and sighed.

Gersif padded in silently after the sisters and sat himself down near the mouth of the cave not wishing to intrude or disturb them. It was going to be a long night and any degree of separation he could get was going to help him anyway so by the entrance he sat and watched. A line his human always sang went floating through his head 'gravedigger when you dig my grave could you make it shallow so that I could feel the rain' seemed poignant and accurate to his state though he held his center there was a shadow over him, let the pain be shallow he thought let the rain wash it away...
He sat listening to all that Electra retold taking it all in, it was easier now not so hard to take not so hard to hear, his walls were going back up cutting himself off from the emotions he closed his eyes feeling the emptiness that had so long been his companion roll back in. This was it and he was ready.
He smiled at Thane's joke about to reply with his own the words nearly escaping his mouth, but that would mean opening those walls again and he couldn't do that, not now, not yet. He needed their strength to see him through the night, he didn't even know when he had let them down, was it little by little or one big blow that knocked them down? He was a witness to all this, not a participant. He was a nomad anyway he didn't need all this pain even if it meant this cold emptiness would always remain his sole companion. The plains in his mind had become grey skied and withered fields color stripped from that world as his emotions had been stripped from him, he let it fall away like pieces of glass, he was his own solace now

"Anyway" Odessa said as she looked from the photo to Thane "can you please take us to Sayako's? We would like to speak to both of you" she said as she realised she hadn't introduced her sister "and this little one is Electra, shes my sister" she said moving aside for her.
Electra looked up and smiled at Thane "it is a pleasure to meet you Sir" she said as she bowed a little.
Thane smiled at the child "it is a pleasure to meet you" he said to her, loving her more so at how polite she was, far too many kids these days were nothing but rude, it was nice to meet one who was polite for a change "sure, just let me put this way" he said as he picked up the photo and walked back to his shrine and placed it back with the other stuff and said a small prayer before walking back out to the others "come on, lets go" he said smiling at them as he walked out to lead them to Sayakos.
Morpheus and Calliope followed him out as Electra followed them.
Odessa looked at Gersif as she smiled a little at him as she left, this was all starting to get to her, she was going to need to have a good nights sleep after this.

Gersif longed for the night to be over as he followed the others to Sayako's. It was all wearing on him and he felt completely drained. He just wanted to collapse, to settle back into himself in his sleep and wake anew and refreshed. He realized in part he had been losing his edge ever since he took up residence with his human... became complacent, those walls it had taken so long to build up had started crumbling around her and look where it had gotten him. She had given him one thing he supposed, a good repertoire of music to accompany him in his journeys all stuck in his head, his own personal sound track to his life... right now? He had Black Lab's 'This Night' stuck in his head. Eerily accurate to the moment. He wondered a little how it was all going to go, how it all would end. But the care had nearly left him, his walls well practiced in their building were nearly complete now, soon he would be all rational once more. He had lost two families a third would be unbearable without those walls to save him, keep the hurt at bay. What would his own mother say about him now? He had been such a happy and lively pup, now he didn't live... just survived, like always he just tried to survive. Anything more could be taken from him.. would be taken from him, just as it had every time before. The walk would be a quiet one. The song played in his head, keeping pace with the walk. He was glad that that which he had received from the human was something that could never be stolen, something that could accompany him on his travels. He had decided that if this didn't pan out, if he lost this family too he was going to move on, leave the human's house hold and continue to travel as he always had before. This time he wouldn't come back, it had been his folly to stay and he could blame no other, but it was time before he lost more, he would leave and preserve the good memories.

Odessa, whilst she was happy to go along she was tired...REALLY tired....her vision was blurred a bitt, she needed rest but she had to carry on, it wasn't till she had gotten about half way between the lake and the cave Thane owned when she collapsed and fell into what could have easily described as a sleep induced coma.

((I am so in love with it at the moment, there are 14 songs at the moment that compliment each other so well I have them in their own play list going on repeat and that's one of them))
Gersif upon seeing Odessa collapse lept to her side "Odessa??" he nudged her cheek with his nose hoping for a response to let him know she was ok. He hadn't noticed it yet but his heart was racing as was his mind. Panic in any other kitsu but he still had his walls up he was still cut off from his emotions, his body. He had locked his mind away from everything else to keep it rational, calm, and free of pain so though his body was panicked only his voice gave it away.. it was going to take his brain a bit to realize the rest of him was freaking out, only freaking out a little but more than he had ever freaked out since his grandfathers death.
"Odessa?" He shook her with his paw, she was breathing slow and steady and her heart held a strong even rhythm, it couldn't be an illness, had she fainted from the stress of her emotions? It had been a long night for them both everything weighing on them heavily. taking it's toll. Or perhaps she had been as tired as he, more so perhaps to have caused this. He tried again to wake her a nudge to her cheek then a lick "Wake up."
He looked to Electra and Thane, worry still written on his face though he was fairly certain she would be alright, the suddenness of it was what worried him most.

Thane wondered what was going on behind him, wondering why Gersif was calling out like he was when he noticed Odessa was now on the ground and ran back to see if she was alright.
Electra turned around and was instantly worried also, running back she jumped on her sister, knowing for a fact she hated it and would always get a reaction out of her but this time there was nothing so she got up and nuzzled her "Dessa?" She before nuzzling her again "Dessa!!" She called, not getting any answer.
Calliope and Morpheus stopped and looked down at Odessa, wanting to help but couldn't so they just looked on and waited, hoping she was going to be alright.
Cassandra arrived moments later followed by Apollo and fell down next to her daughter "darling, it's mother, please wake up!" She said, nipping at her ear, knowing she hated that but nothing.
Apollo stopped, sat, drew in a few deep breaths and let them out so he was calm, cool, collected and centred and closed his eyes, deciding to see if he could reach any doctor who hadn't passed over, yes it was a long shot but hey, he didn't travel around this place alot so when he came out it was usually to keep to himself not meet and greet every Kitsu that lived here.
Cassandra got up and looked at her mate "darling, I apologise for being so rude but a dead guy isn't going to help" she said as she ran off to where Lenore lived, she would be able to do something surely "stay there with Odessa, I will be back!"

Gersif frowned perplexed and unsure as how to proceed. He was concerned only because she refused to wake "The lake is not far off, lets see if some water wont wake her." It was worth a shot nothing else had done the trick "unless someone has smelling salts?" it was all he could think of but it might work, instinct kicking in and all that. He wasn't sure where her mother had run off to not knowing the area exceptionally well but he assumed to get more help.
He looked around at the group to see if anyone might be carrying something which could contain water but he didn't see much so one of his pouches might do. His meal pouch was still empty from their lunch and he hoped it would hold enough water to do the trick. "I'm going to fetch some water, I'll be right back." He trotted down to the shore removing the pouch from where it hung and submerged it in the icy cool lake until there was no air inside, he drew the close-strings tight while it was still submerged to ensure as much water was held as possible and headed back to Odessa. Positioning the bag over her face he muttered "Forgive me for this." the dumped the water on her hoping the shock would be enough.

Odessa stirred a little by the water but mostly kept on sleeping, not bothering to wake.
Cassandra came back about half an hour later with Lenore and a vet who started checking her over.
"Oh no!" Lenore said as she dropped down next to Odessa and patted her, hoping she would be alright.
"Well, Dr Mason, what is wrong?" Lenore asked about fifteen minutes later after he had checked her over.
"It is nothing to worry about" he said as he put the stretcher down that he brought and gestured for Lenore to help put Odessa on it "help please" he said as Lenore helped lift Odessa onto the stretcher "she is terribly exhausted, she just needs a few days rest and she should be fine" he said as he picked up one end of the stretcher and Lenore the other "come, lets take her back to her place" he said as Lenore lead the way.
Thane sighed "this was our fault" he said gesturing that Sayako was the other guilty one in this "we shouldn't of put so much stuff onto her" he said, starting to walk back to the cave, following Cassandra, Electra and Apollo, they should have waited till she was 100% fine, obviously she wasn't or this wouldn't of happened.

Gersif shook his head "It wasn't your fault, she should have known her limit, not to push herself so far. We could have waited till tomorrow to get Electra and meet with you and Sayako again but she insisted upon doing it right away" he frowned at the empty ground where she had collapsed "She was the only one who could have known how bad she was, she didn't let any of us see it until it was too late." Foolish foolish girl he thought, what was she thinking? Was she afraid she would lose her courage? What drove her to be so fool-hearty? He shook his head again, this time in disbelief of her own actions. Didn't she know how such a risky choice could have... maybe even did hurt them? He looked to Electra at this thought worry written on every small line of her face. "She'll be alright" He smiled reassuringly.

Thane sighed "it isn't just her fault, if I care to be fair the blame is both of ours" he said, deciding to blame her even though silently he was talking most if not all blame "we all could of waited till tomorrow for this, not just her" he said as he thought about telling Sayako to maybe take care of Oliver for a few days.
Electra sighed and looked up at Gersif "I know, this is what always happens, it is sort of common with her, she has always pushed herself but it has never gotten this far before and usually it is only when she cares about something so passionatly" she said as she walked over to her mother to ask if she could stay with Odessa tonight.
"Electra is right" Apollo said as he walked up beside them, having been walking behind them for a bit "no matter how much we tell her she doesn't care to listen, given what she has been through today she would have wanted to see it through to the end, to get it over and done with but also, and more importantly, to have Oliver taken care of etc, THAT would of been her main reason for pushing herself so far, if there was anything, anything at all she could do to help Oliver more or understand the situation better then she is happy to push herself, she does it. Yes she shouldn't but she does, how do you think she is fantastic at her talent? She pushed herself, no matter how much she was told to not carry on practising tarot or communicating with the dead or practising her Astral Projection or whatever she would anyway, she has many half talents in this subject because she can't maintain enough energy to actually do them so whilst she would be a master in all things Divination she has made herself sick and decided to 'leave them for the time being' only to forget about them and then doesn't bother picking them up again till much later if even then.
Odessa just doesn't know when to stop, she thinks she can handle it all, first time shes actually gotten to this state but she has come close before, just that now shes found someone who needs her more then ever and she wants to do everything she can for him and that means once again pushing herself to the limit and doing whatever she can in a small amount of time since Oliver isn't with you." Apollo said, noticing that they wouldn't all be together if he was, Odessa, at least, would be at home with Oliver "but once she puts all her heart into something...well, thats it, she wont give up for anything regardless, it is a blessing and a sin to watch and guess what? It comes from me, I am the same" he said with a sigh, as they neared their daughters cave, wishing his daughter didn't take after him so much.

Dedicated or stuborn? he wondered... perhaps a little bit of both. Though when her father spoke of her half talents, leaving them forgetting them and not picking them back up again, he wasn't sure she was as dedicated as her father tried to make her out to be. Course she could simply have burned out and gotten distracted.... He shook his head, he wasn't going to waste his time trying to figure her out.
"She's got a lot of heart" he would give her that, he had seen it first hand, she wouldn't have put herself through all of this if she didn't, and he certainly couldn't blame her for being so exhausted he was right there with her on that, more than willing to take a break from it all and rest. More emotionally drained than physically tired he still felt as though he could sleep for hours without waking for the end of the world. He had to keep blinking just to try and keep his eyes open.

Lenore and the vet reached the cave and walked in, placing the stretcher on the ground gently the lifted Odessa up and onto the bed and let her sleep.
"Thank you for your help Dr Mason"
"It is quite alright" he said as he and Lenore walked out, deciding that the others could tend to her "alright guys, we will leave you guys alone, just come get us if you need anything else" he said as he and Lenore left to talk about the bill for the call out.
"Cya guys, I will come back tomorrow to see how she is" she looked back at them as she left and sighed softly, hoping she would be alright.
Apollo nodded at the vet and Lenore and then back at Gersif "that she does, bucket loads really, she has always been a kind hearted girl, she nearly got killed as a foal when she went to save a bunny from being a Kitsu's dinner, she wasn't very happy this pup was taking away its food, hunted her down and would of ended up killing her had her mother not had a vision before hand and came with back up to help save her" he said with a sigh, her big heart had gotten her in trouble more times then he cared to remember.
Cassandra walked past Thane who had laid down on the floor and watched her as Cassandra walked over and got up on the 'bed' next to her daughter and nuzzled her, wishing she would just at least wake up, even if just for a few moments, to let them know she would be alright.

Gersif nodded at Apollo's story, he was having trouble following his words, but nodding seemed the polite thing to do, they seemed jumbled in his tired and unfocused brain moments between moments seeming to disappear, instances segment and draw out or are left so out of focus they might as well not exist. The world going in and out of focus like the screen of a poor camera man. He was of little assistance to Odessa now, not that there was much to do but wait. He laid down in the same patch of dirt he had before, just outside the cave entrance. And as though a switch was hit all the stress and weight of the day came crashing down on him crushing him under the weight. He didn't stand a chance a few struggling minutes later and he was lost to sleep.
(Fast forward to morning? xd )
