I wouldn't complain about a Portable Alchemists' Lab, or maybe just an Alchemists' Kit, and some sort of decent armor and maybe weapon, though Kivenna's not much of a fighter...

Yeah, pathfinder's weird like that. There's a feat for just about all of those- ones for extra rage, smite evil, smite good, bardsong, even one for extra traits. Pretty nifty.

I was under the impression the only alchemist feat like that is the extra bombs feat.

According to the PFSRD, it is legitimate.

It's pretty cool as feats go, since the Alchemist gets a lot of really neat discovery options and it feels like not nearly enough actual Discoveries. The feat allows them to diversify with both bombs and mutagens, if they so choose.

Yep. They get a very limited amount of discoveries and a lot to choose from. Normally you have to choose between Bombs, Mutagens, or Infusions. And one wrong choice can screw you up.
