Carol of the bells. I had 8th notes on the bass and we played it like it was 16th notes and ugh. I never really did get right until the concert. sweatdrop I forgot how to play it now even though it was a couple of days ago. But man! I got more blisters in my entire life trying to play that damn piece. I loved it though cuz it sounded cool. whee Jesu, joy of man's desiring is pretty hard but I mastered it (6 hrs of practicing later sweatdrop ).

Last year there was this one song, The Gathering of the Ranks at Hebron, and it was sooo difficult when we first started sight-reading it but then we all got good and loved it to death! To this day it is still my favorite band song =]

We just started Symphony no. 25 in G Major by Mozart.
My fingers get tied up from how fast it gets at some parts! DX

Well, last year, the hardest song for me at least was the last movement of the Brook Green Suite, Dance. But we went to Fiesta Val and performed it, and we won first place, so that's good =] I think it was either a grade 4 or 5. I can't remember.. This year, it's the Bach Double Violin Concerto in D Minor. The only reason it's hard, it goes too fast >.>. It's also all sixteenth notes. And the notes which from the D string, to 3rd position E string >.>. But it sounds amazing. Hopefully we'll play it during the Spring. Even if it's just a chamber orchestra

The hardest song I had to play had to be "Sleigh Ride" The band had to play it in cut time and we all had a problem with one part that pissed everybody off and nearly got rid of two thirds of the saxophone because they couldn't play it. Mr. Macrina had to play it the same way the Boston Pops played it and all of that! But we got it together in the end and our Holiday concert was once again a huge hit from Brockton to Cape Cod! ^_^

The hardest piece i've played (we haven't played it as a group yet.) Is Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique. The fourth and fifth music is scary s**t. Whoever decided for the top Allstate group to play this was on crack. I play bassoon and its extremely hard.

Rajiko SOUSA CAN BURN!!! STARS AND STRIPS FOREVER!!!! I swear that man must have been on crack when he wrote the clarinet parts. On third the notes were flying above the bar line. that song is EASY! i'm a clarinetist and i played 1st part on it...simple s**t. a challenging song to play is George Washington Bridge, or Elsa's Procession. Elsa's Procession is played in 8/8 time tis a b***h! and it's extremely SSSSLLLLOOOWWW!

I've played "American Faces" By - David R. Holsinger and as well "Africa: Ceremony, Song and Ritual". Those are both great and hard at some points (Well for certain people) I recommend looking up a recording of both.
