Sanoskue was quiet for a bit then said, "Stay here." He crawled up to the entrance and poked his head out, the bear didn't follow them, and there where still bits of the doe left. He walked outside, scenting the air carefully then grabbed a scrap and threw it down the hole, grabbing another and dragging it back down with him. "It's not much, but it's something at least." Sanoskue said lying next to Kanti again.

“Thank you Sanoskue,†she said softly, beginning to tear smaller pieces off and eat them, watching to make sure he ate as well.

Sanoskue tore off a small chunk and swallowed it, then another, and another. When he had finished he looked over at Kanti to make sure she was eating.

Kanti finished off her chunk of meat and stretched slowly, wincing slightly as she now felt how sore her legs were from the day’s activity. Yawning, she curled up close to Sanoskue, heat radiating from his body and warming her.

Sanoskue curled up around her and rested his head on her side. He yawned and closed his eyes, not sleeping, but enjoying her company and warmth.

Kanti smiled slightly and laid her head down on her paws. She pulled her tail up over her side and leaned against him. “Comfy Sanoskue?†she asked teasingly.

"Very." He said back a little sleepily, "It's been a while since I had someone to curl up with."

“Heh, join the club,†Kanti muttered. “Anyway, you look sleepy, get some rest Sanoskue, you battled a bear today, you deserve your sleep,†she said fondly, turning to gently lick his cheek.

"Alright, if you insist mother." He joked softly, and shortly after his soft snores filled the small den.

Kanti chuckled quietly as she watched Sanoskue in his sleep for a few minutes. Smiling to herself she made a quick check of the both of them, to make extra sure they really had escaped unscathed from the bear, before she too drifted off to sleep.

Sanoskue woke with a start, something seemed wrong, it was colder than normal. He crawled carefully away from Kanti, trying not to wake her up, and out of the hole, and as he poked his head through the hole he was hit full in the face by hail. He ducked back down and moved the rock over the hole and curled back up with Kanti, his nose aching.

“Hmm? What?†Kanti mumbled as she lifted her head up sluggishly, having felt the sudden chill when Sanoskue moved. “Sanoskue? Is everything okay?†she asked sleepily, vision still blurry from sleep.

"There's an ice storm going on outside, just got pegged in the nose by a piece of hail the size of a baby mouse." He moved a little closer to her, trying to share as much body heat as possible.

Kanti struggled to hold back a laugh. “Poor thing,†she chuckled, licking his nose comfortingly. “Looks like we’re stuck here for a while.†She pressed close against him, shivering slightly; the temperature had dropped even further.

Sanoskue chuckled a bit too, "Yea, funny for you, why don't you go stick your head out there?" He wraped his tail around her, "And yea, I hope it doesn't last to long. But I also hope it doesn't stop too soon."
