My two dogs cost about $100.00 per month and my 5 outdoor cats about $50.00. Pets are sooo expensive but it is worth it!

Damian Raye generaly my dogs pay for themselves. well the only reason is because im a dog breeder But that is not always the case. I just had my first litter and it's amazing how much I had to spend with the puppies (6 of them) plus the mother... and of course the other two dogs. It is true it's very expensive to have a pet, no matter if you buy it or not. And you never know what will happen in the future if he has some "medical" needs. Most people don't even consider that when they think about getting a pet. They really should.

I worked at a grooming shop all summer the cost depends on the size of the dog but we usually only charged between $25 and $60

You know, I really feel the cost of a dog is subjective. Some vets aren't as expensive as others, some dogs (and dog breeds are healthier) then others. Some dogs go through lots of toys, some dogs don't like toys, etc..
Also, the first year of having a dog is more expensive, puppies need four trips in one year, where as you'll hopefully only be making one trip a year after that.
Yes, having a dog is expensive. I know I have two, and I probably spend about 160 dollars a month of food alone. But my food is expensive.
So again, subjective.
