Well lately I've been drawing post apocalyptic pictures. Been drawing headstones with my name on it. You know I think I am going crazy.

we all are, I often find myself thinking of how the world will end, how to commit the perfect murder, how I would want to kill myself, about decaying corpses and the maggots crawling through them. Just at random points of the day, with no rhyme or reason.
Everyone's crazy, it's just how you use it, and if you accept that insanity. I accept it, and find it interesting. don't worry about being crazy, we all are. smile

Your ability to recognize your potential insanity immediately removes any possibility that you might be insane.

zz1000zz GilAskan Your ability to recognize your potential insanity immediately removes any possibility that you might be insane. How does that make any sense? If your truly insane, you don't think your insane, because your not used to any alternate thought patterns, you believe you are normal in every facet, thusly meaning only others may judge if you are insane or not.

If your truly insane, you don't think your insane, because your not used to any alternate thought patterns, you believe you are normal in every facet, thusly meaning only others may judge if you are insane or not. Insanity is simply the process of thinking in a way not fitting the norm. There is nothing which would imply or suggest ignorance of the difference, and certainly nothing to require it. Indeed, a person who is insane could quite possibly recognize his or her own insanity, which would only serve to further worsen the condition. Of course, an insane person who recognizes the difference may not accept the norm as a standard of judgment, which could lead to such a delusion.

But by accepting, that you have a process different from the norm, is different to actually having one, as that is one of the ways we form personal identity, the point in question is, true insanity, be it schizophrenia or MPD or any other mental illness, requires the person who suffers these conditions, to not be aware, they are any different, in a purely medical terminology, then you or I, if you become aware of the problem yourself, then you are not insane, as you are in control of the functions, and can seek help without the aid of others to recognise the problem.

So a person with multiple personalities is not insane if he or she knows about the other personalities? Not buying it.

No, its a mental problem if they are aware of it, because they recognise it as a problem, its insanity, if that particular behavioral pattern and personality switching is considered normal by that person.

Doesn't seem crazy to me, but if you start having suicidal thoughts, or thinking of ways to kill yourself, even if you're don't depressed you might want to see a shrink.
