No, I don't mean the clothes, and I don't mean the attitude. But, did anyone else notice that in the manga, book 2 shows L much less bug-eyed than in the rest of the books. I mean, it went from

Also in the first volume...even though you couldn't see his eyes, he seemed kind of different from all the other ones. @.@? Like, he kind of acted like a normal person....=.=

Even though I mentioned this in another thread, I'm going to do it here too.
The reason why his eyes look that different is because in the second volume, he had eyebrows. Later on, the artist drew him without them (no - don't protest - it's true. check whatever volume you like after volume 2. I assure you - he has no eyebrows)
The reason for that, which I also notice in my own drawings, is that without eyebrows - the eyes look larger. they do. Of course, it also helps if you draw them slightly larger. but since you don't draw the eyebrows, the expression makes it seem that the eyes are larger, more 'staring', and at the same time gives off an almost 'vacant' expression, since eyebrows are generally used to express the emotion of the character.
No eyebrows = harder to detect the characters current emotions.
If you do not believe me, try drawing a character and then removing the eyebrows. It will look like the eyes are more wide - and the expression becomes more or less unreadable. (Note: if you remove the eyebrows, the eyes need to be made slightly bigger or the image will look off (it does for me, at least). Just a tip.)
Hope that answer is sufficient for people ^^ As for me, I like him better after volume 2 ^_^
