I have no friends on gaia at all who play bells or marimba. 2/3 of my main instruments. (third being bassoon) Anyone here play bells/marimba alot in their band class (or free time)

Well, I wouldn't say marimba is my primary instrument, I do play it often and had a four mallet solo for one of our concerts. I mainly play snare drum for our Wind Ensemble(highest concert band), but enjoy playing four mallets on marimba/ other keyboard instruments. During marching season though, I'm in battery and this year I'm playing tenors.

marimba's not my prime... i call all mallet percussion my prime... Vibes are my star insturment. so... yeah... i'm a mallet percussionist.

Marimba baby!! i do play other stuff though. and i march quads in the summer, but marimba is deffinatly my main focus. lol

Methinks marimba is the best mallet instrument...
But I'm not talented enough to do 4 mallets.
I will though... since I've only been playing mallets for like 8 months, and we've only had a marimba for 5.
At least I'm flying free.

I love playing marimba or xylo. I usually play snare though. I always play at least one mallet percussion song each concert we do.

None of the boys knew how to play mallet percussion, so I had to step in. Mallets was all I played in the 8th grade. I love it! I'm very fond of the vibes.

i just started playing in band last year and i LOVE the marimba! it's my favorite instrument.
i'm so glad there are other band nerds on here. xd

yea, i play almost all percussion instruments. bells, xylophone, drums, vibs, chimes, marimba, everything our school has, even piano. i play piano, bass guitar, and drums 4 jazz. mrgreen

I play flute, piano and mallets. Out of all that, I love mallets the most, and Marimba is the best! I enjoy playing four mallets, and last marching band season, I was on marimba for all four parts!
Bells are fun because I don't have to hit them so hard and I can still play loud.
The only mallet percussion I don't like is Chimes. domokun
