Okay, so my mother was looking at the ABC news website when she came across this article. She didn't know how to pronounce Hatshepsut, so she called me in. So they believe they've found Hatshepsut and her wetnurse. Which is which is yet to be determined (if they are who they think they are). At first I was going to have a crazy dancing-around-the-living-room-cheering-like-when-they-found-KV63 (I mean, the headlines make you believe that they did find her) but then I had a feeling of deja vu. Haven't they already started looking at these two women before and ABC has decided to show the story for once? Or am I mixing this up with all the Nefertiti hulabaloo that happened a while ago? Or maybe they thought that one of these two women were Nefertiti, and now they're thinking that one of them is Hatshepsut... gonk Thoughts? EDIT: They have identified the mummy! All they really need to do now is verify it! Feast thine eyes! *dances around the living room cheering like when they found KV63*

Whoa, that's quite exciting, another tomb!! Since 1989 there seems to be new tombs popping up everywhere!
Two things that have got to me though. Firstly the site says that Hatshepsut is the most famous Queen to rule Egypt ... I'll have to object to that. I thought Cleopatra was the most famous confused
Secondly it said that the tomb could be the biggest find since Tutankhamun, so does this tomb contain statues and other things like Tutankhamun's tomb or is it just the fact that Hatshepsut's mummy has been missing since Egyptology became the thing. I know she was such a character (being corrinated as Pharaoh, banishing her step-son/nethew to Syria) so if that's the case I understand.
I can't wait to hear more whee

Hatshesput had it hard going because she was a woman. She had to lie about her birth (saying that her father was Amun, not Tuthmosis I) just to be accepted as a Pharaoh. Her monuments are amasing, especially the temple by the Valley of the Kings and Queens, I haven't known Cleopatra to do anything. Ow, and Cleopatra was Greek, Hatshesput was 100% Egyptian.

Woot! When I saw a commercial I thought they were going to be showing a re-run of something about King Tut on the discovery channel. But then they said something about trying to erase her from history. I literally jumped up and yelled Hatshepsut! That is so awesome that they found her.
