Maybe we had a Gaia Fishing thread, maybe not. If not-- here it is! Our very own Gaia fishing thread-r-riffic
Since the inception of the new server system it seems it's harder to find other 21+ fishers, we're all kind of scattered by the winds. Over the past year 21+ fishing has been one of my favorite places to go on Gaia, come on it's a free mini game online that is strangely addictive! Mostly I've appreciated the class of conversations we've had in the 21+ rooms.
So who here plays Gaia fishing?
What server do people tend to use the most for Durem, Gambino, Bassken?
What are your thoughts on the new server system (i.e. angelic, demonic, coco, kiki, and grunny)?
Got a fish tale for us?

I tried a few times, and never caught a thing, so I just gave up!

since i'm kinda lazy,i only do the bass'kin lake. i'm not much for the other two places, it's harder to catch fish. but when i fish, it's usually on the demonic server. and even though i mainly catch only guppies and trash, i'm more there for the chat. i don't specifically stay in the 21+ fishing, i talk with just about anyone. a lot of younger gaians have asked me for advice in these chats and i feel that my experiences as an older member of the community have helped some of these kids out. granted, for every one good kid you come across, there are a few jackasses, but for the most part, i don't have any problems. but i love fishing.

I like fishing, but generally I am too impatient for it... it takes too long to fish a bucket, and there's no way to pause if you have to be called away in the middle of it, consequently, I've lost a lot of fish having to get up and do something else and then coming back and being disconnected.
SOOo... though I fish now and then, I have like 50 Grade F baits to fish through... I've never fished anywhere but Bassken.

To Make fishing easier- Invest in a better rod, the strength plus rod is one of the easiest to reel in fish. Practice smile
Bassken is definitely a good place to go. I have two plus rods, so I generally hang around Durem where I can sell lots of Gaian fish and make lots of gaia gold.
But yes, we should all fish. Not all of the youngin's are bad, but I got sick of being asked my "asl" while fishing. I also got sick of being accused of being some old weirdo sweatdrop
People in the 21+ rooms generally are friendly, like the people in this guild smile

I've noticed there aren't any (that I've seen anyway) 21+ rooms, at least where I fish at Durem. It'd be nice to fish without someone using the word 'wat' instead of 'what'. I don't like the new server system if it means we're all spread out.
I'm somewhat surprised there hasn't been a fishing thread in here...fishing is what got me addicted to Gaia in the first place!

I've been having the same problem. Mostly I miss the people I used to fish with. Do you have a preferred server? Maybe if we can find a general server to stick to we can all meet up again. Lately when I make rooms I label them as 21+ Antonia's place, making it pretty easy to find me smile

I'm always in durem. I won't lie, I like gold, and it's the best place to get it. There are a lot of new gaians there though, so it's kinda diffucult to find a quiet room. Pretty much, if you go durem, coco, and look for any room that says 21+, I'm probably there.

And....I'm bumping this thread because us 21+ fishers need to unite! That, and we'll catch fish and turn 'em into gold! mrgreen
Has there been any consensus on where we should all meet up at?

I don't think there's been a consensus, but whenever I'm fishing, or playing cards, or etc., my room is always called "21+, No Muss, No Fuss!", so if you see that, you know it's me. mrgreen

...I rarely fish and I'm too lazy to earn some gold to upgrade my rod but I do it occasionally when I'm not hunting for stuff in towns or playing blackjack xp i'm not very good at it yet though....
it's not fun when I'm fishing all alone so it would be nice to have some company if I ever go again 3nodding
