I was talking to my friend Zaid, and eh was telling me how Egyptian Arabic differs from the Arabic spoken in his homeland of Jordan. I was wondering, what are some of the key differences?

According to my atlas Jordan does speak Arabic ... I suppose there could be some differences in words because if you think about my English is different to the American english so I suppose it could be the same as Egyptian and Jordan-ish Arabic.

Yeah, Zaid (my friend who was born in Jordan) was telling me that his cousin from Egypt not only has a different accent, but also, when they speak Arabic, there are some words and phrases that they will have to stop and say in English because they will not understand each other otherwise. XD

yup-that's right. I had a Lebanese teacher once (I'm Egyptian) and sometimes were' sjust sitting and staring at her like; '..huh? say that again...'
that the 'local' accent, but the correct Arabic is understood by all of us. and btw, that's not the original language, it replaced the 'coptic' language, since Egypt was a Christian country before being a Muslim one.

yes here in Egypt we have different Accent but not different language because we use some old word from old language (demotic, Hieroglyphic and coptic) and other from English and frinch when they came and Colonized us so we have special Accent.
