This thread is dedicated to tv programs some of us may be hooked on. But it's more than that-- it's the guilty pleasures we hate to admit we watch: soap operas, "Reality" tv, cheesy sitcoms, infamous drama series, etc.
I lived without a television four years in undergrad... now I am hooked on several programs thanks to well meaning family members. "sit down and watch with me..."
Now thanks to me Mum I'm hooked on Heroes, Lost, House, American Idol (the shame), etc.
Some of them I swore I'd never watch like American Idol. I'm mortified, and yet I can't look away, I'm really into this season's people.
What are your guilty tv pleasures or other favorite programs you sadly find yourself watching? It's pathetic, I could be using said time to write a meaningful novel, read something of merit, go for walks in nature, meet up with friends, etc... yet I am stuck glued to the boob tube (for non-US guildies this nick name for tv may not be used, is it?).

The only things I find myself watching are Heroes, The Office, The Shield and reruns of Arrested Development. There's also my one guilty pleasure show, "Cops". Yeah..."Cops" is my guilty pleasure show xp I don't know why, but I find it so damn interesting to watch.

my fiancee makes me watch idol. i'll have to admit, i hate the show, but i was extremely pissed that blake made it to the finals. i can't stand that beat-boxing boy band reject. now, i have found that i've gotten into house. that show's awesome! also i'm into robot chicken on cartoon network's adult swim.

Dancing With the Stars. LOL I have found myself hopelessly in love with the show and Apollo. *sigh* I'm not a very happy person if someone interupts me while I'm watchign it, and seeing as that most of the time I'm at work when I watch it, it makes for a rather odd situation.
Other than that I watch more CSI than should be legal.

Yeah, I like Blake, but I was sad to see Melinda go, that gal can SING.
I'm also a soap opera watcher. It's funny because if you see someone else's soap, it seems weird to you... even though your own favored soap is just as out there and stupid.

Sex and the City....I LOVE that show to death. xp I started watching it around the second to last season. After that, I was hooked. I wanted to see it over and over again. I risked getting arrested last year and downloaded the entire series. (then deleted it...i will get the dvd thing later) I dunno...I just...I kinda identify with Carrie because she is a writer. I'm a little bit like Miranda, I;ve got a LOT of Samantha in me....and just a teeny hint of Charlotte sans the Park Avenue flair. rofl
It comes second on my list after Prince.

I've only got one channel, so House is the only currently playing show that I'm addicted to... and I'm not ashamed, for that show really delivers the fangirly joy. But years ago, there used to be one of those stupid people on camera shows on Fox, called X-something... Maybe X-treme? I can't remember. It came on right before late-night X-files, so I'd watch them both. And I got seriously sucked in by the stupid criminal and men are idiots themes. xd

A year ago I decided to start watching the entire Sex and the City series through Netflix, not because I wanted to see it, but because I thought it would be good to see something of such social relevance. I am now honestly in love with that show. Wow. I watch the syndicated reruns and laugh at how much they've edited them for TV!
However, that's not where the guilt comes from . . .
One lazy weekend I found myself glued to two of the most horrible shows I've ever seen, shows so bad that they make me depressed for the future of the United States:
MTV's "Next" and "Parental Control."
Have you SEEN THESE?!?! They are SO HORRIBLY BAD. They're dating shows where a bunch of slutty attention whores (male and female) sling cheesy insults if they don't feel sexual tension.
IT'S SO SOSOSOSOSO HORRIBLE, but I really, REALLY can't look away when I accidentally catch a passing glimpse.

um... ha I've been watching Fresh Prince of Bel Air reruns on Nick at Nite. I forgot how many seasons/eps. there were of Fresh Prince.
I've also been watching Scrubs reruns on comedy central. I missed quite a few of the eps. the 1st time around.
There aren't too many shows that I can watch reruns of, but those are 2 of them. =p
