Writing a newspaper is simple. First, you have to know what kind of article you will be writing: Hard News or Opinion.

Hard News
In hard news, you will be presenting an unbiased presentation of a story in the news. Here, your job is presenting the facts. Also, getting quotes of others on their opinion is important, as a good hard news story should never have the author's opinion.
A hard news story should begin with an introduction. Here are some different intrtoduction forms:

Summary - Give, in one sentence, a summary of what the story's about. Ex.: Last Wednesday at 11:00pm in the Gambino district of Isle de Gambino, five armed robbers broke into Johnny Gambino's mansion by kiocking the door down, stealing a total of 5 million gold.
A summary should answer the following questions: Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How. "How" is good to have, but the least important out of all.

Fluff - Have a short, descriptive narrative concerning the story. Articles beginning with fluff should then continue to answer the five Ws (Who, What...).
Ex.: The inferno raged in the forest as firefighters rushed to quell it and save the animals.

Quote - Start off with a shocking quote relating to the article. Leaving off who said it is a good idea, and then say who said it in the next paragraph.
Ex.: "My house was burned down, and my cats are nowhere to be seen."
Robby Bobby's story is only one of the millions who lost their houses in the recent blah blah blah...

If you did not use the first style of intrroduction, proceed with answering the five Ws throughout the article. Give quotes of people who have something to say on the related subject when the topic switches to what they were talking about.

Opinion
An opinion piece is an article that gives the author's opinion to a current event, idea, person, place, or thing. In an opinion piece, it is fine not to have any quotes, but it is a good idea to have facts to back up your ideas.
Writing an opinion piece can be very loose, and you can structure it in any way you want. Just remember to stick to your idea throughout.

Illustrations (as you probably will not have photos in your article) can be used in both types of articles. A strong illustration to capture the reader's attention, while still being related and appropriate, is the best type. Using color is a good idea, but depending on what the tone of the article is, try to keep them appropriate. For example, in a story on a recent hacking, you don't want to have a caricature of the avatar in bright, flashy colors with a huge grin on his/her face. However, in a happy article, you do't want to have dry and muted colors.
In a hard news story, it is a good idea to mimic a photograph in your article by taking screenshots of the website (achieved by pressing the "Print Screen" button on the keyboard), and maybe photoshop it to have what you desire in it. "Photos" are not necessarily a good idea when doing opinion pieces, as it could confuse the reader as to what type of article you're actually writing.

Format Conclusion
Newspapers should have a very specific format, as I will try to explain below.

Front Page
It will be most likely that the article you will be writing will be on the front page of your newspaper. If this is the case, then before actually writing the article, try to keep in mind some things on the format of your front page:
"Inside": On the top of the page should be the "Inside" banner, also known as the "Refer". This will give notice to other articles that cn be found in the paper. It is shown as a rectangular box at the top of the page, with two or three "Ads" for other articles in the paper.
Refer:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

After the Refer is the title of the newspaper. A good font for this is the old english script style, or this:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Good things to have in the title are words like, "Times", "Press", "Herald", or "News". Having a mascot before any of those, or the city from where the newspaper is from, is a good idea. An example of a good title is the "Durem News Herald".

Below the title should be the Volume, Number, City, Date, and Price of the newspaper, all arranged in one line, with spaces between them. Ex.:
Volume II No. 5 Los Angeles 4/6/07 25cents

Finally, below all that, should be the Front page Headline, or the main article. The headline (or title of the article) should be centered, in font Arial, Bold, and size 26.
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Below that, in size 12, italics, Times New Roman, give the names of the people who are writing the article.
Ex.: By: [Person1], [Person2], and [Person3]

In the actual article, the whole thing should be arranged in several columns, 2 and a half inches wide (use the ruler on your word processor). Font should Times New Roman, size 12.

Pictures can be arranged however you like, with the words around them. They can be at the top, below the headline, or in the middle, with the columns arranging themselves around.
