It has been 4 seasons since the Long Patrolhas set out to help the Redwallers of Redwall Abbey defeat the horde of searats that attempted to take over Redwall. Now, on the night of returning, Summer and Barrack find some terrible news.
" Oh my goodness, by the fur, Summer, do you see what I'm seeing my girl?"
Breaking down in tears,"Yes....B-Barrack....Why has this happened?"
"I don't know, but we must go tell the colonel. We need to take Salamandastron back!"
Inside of Salamandastron as Summer and Barrack run to tell the news, Barrack (I) look back to see what is going on inside. There, as they grow smaller,is a monstrous horde prancing around, chanting,"Kill! Kill! Kill! Grogan, Grogan, Grogannnn!

Just as they reach camp, they automatically see the colonel. They run down to him and report, hoping he is paying attention.
" Colonel, Sah! We have terrible news Sah! Salamandastron has been taken over by Searats. We are not even a hundredth of what they are in numbers, Sah!

One searat came down to the 3 hares. "What are you three doin' here?" The rat drew his scimitar, and proceded to capture the three hares.

throwing sand at the rats eyes, he then grabbing Summer by the hand realizing that he is monstrous in size and seeing they have a rusty dirk ( Barrack ) and a rusty rapier ( Summer ) starts taking off, hoping to find the colonel before to late. making sure he is to the back just to keep Summer safe.

reallizing that if they run to camp, the rat will find out where to ambush, so making Summer keep running, I turn around to hold off the rat for Summer to escape. Here I go!

"Ahhhh! Blood and vineger! 'S death in the wind!" wiping the blood from his brow that was covering his brow, he neatly stepped to the side doing a neat twist of his hand spinning his dirk in a fast movment then stabbing at the rat's hand.

staggering at the verge of passing out, he went to where the voice was calling from. it had to be the colonel. " Colonel.....colonel, I need your...arg.....ahhh" then he passed out, never had he had to fight a rat so strong. The last thing he saw was Summer coming back with the colonel, then he saw black.

Back inside the mountain, Bloodfang, the rat who battled the hare, sat watching with his mate Singeclaw. "Hahahaha! What do you think Singeclaw?" Singeclaw's reply was dull, "Think what sire?"
Bloodfang was also dull. "What did you think about the battle numbskull?"
Singeclaw muttered, "Nothin really..."
But Bloodfang had left.

" NO! Lord Gargan!.... We must take back the mountain... we must go! My pike! Dirk, sling, armor, I need them, we must go to war! We-" being forced down forcefully by Colonel Beachtree, Summer quieted him. " Barrack, calm down, we know what we must do, but not now. We don't have a big enough army yet. Just us one-hundred to five thousand? We would be slaughtered!"
" But-"
" No buts! You know the code of the warrior! Do as your told sah! We all feel as you do. Now, rest!"
"Sir?!"
" That's an order!"

Bloodfang was watching the hares, but mainly Barrack. "Hahaha. What better time to strike then now, eh?" He went silently off, scimitar in hand.
