I FOUND THIS IN MY INBOX. IF ANYONE GETS A MESSAGE LIKE THIS, REPORT THIS PERSON WITHOUT GIVING HIM/HER ANY INFORMATION. IT'S NOT A MOD FROM GAIA!! HE/SHE IS OUT TO STEAL YOUR ACCOUNT. THE FUNNY THING IS, I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG ON GAIA.

Yeah, but some do. I was one of the lucky ones who actually read the Terms of Service. I reported the person to Gaia and they're looking into it for me. I didn't give the person any information. I should've given them (the account thieves) falsified information just so they can go and be pi$$ed off at me. Like a false name, email and password. That would've been funny to see.

Wow, that's pretty poorly written... like a 12 year old trying to sound 30 xDD And doing a poor job.
I'm glad you didn't give them any info. I hope they get bannnz0red, bannz0red so hard. wink
Sad thing, probably 20+ people will fall for it before they get caught... I went ahead and added him to my ignore list as a cautionary measure.

Wow...I've gotten a similar message from three *cough*mules*cough* and I've reported them all. xDD
I can't find the clip right now...but it went something like "You've been reported for hacking into accounts. Please gimme your name/password and stuff so we mods can look into your trades. 0_o;"

Yeah, I've gotten a bunch of those... Although, they're usually so poorly written that only a newbie or an idiot would fall for them. Especially with how Gaia has "Admins and mods will never ask for your password" plastered everywhere.

Can't count how many of those I've received. It never fails to amaze me that they don't bother to check the person out before they send such an email. rolleyes
I replied to one kid and said "do you think if I'm old enough to sign a lease that I would be stupid enough to fall for this?" I was probably a little harsh, but I really hate thieves.

I usually reply something like:
"If you really are a mod...you'll reply back to this"
*Puts the person on ignore* lol

The worst pm I got was from some kid who asked me to give him my kiki. I said no, and he then wrote back all sorts of nasty things, and posted comments on my profile saying that I was a hacker! Bizarre!

I wish I got more of those... I only got one and I semi-paniched and couldn't think of anything fun to say and have fun with them....... I just kept asking "if it's posted EVERYWHERE not to give out info, then why do you need mine?" and after a few replies of "he's an admin" I jsut said I wouldnt' give it anyways and he just noted back "well others may try and use messages like this on you and they're not admins, so, be careful". 0o. At least he was nice about it. I've seen how others spam and beg and report and other such when they're called on their whitchy-chicky bluff.

I had my AOL account stolen like this when I was in the third grade (I'm a senior in college now) because back then, there weren't notifications everywhere and I was an ignorant child. It's disgusting how some attempt to take advantage of others...

I've gotten one of those before, but I had some real fun with the little brat. I replied with repeating the same phrase "I will swallow your soul!" and at the end of that message, posted one of those pictures that changes from the normal face to the demonic one. Haven't gotten one since.

I received one just like that and the person sending the message was callin themselves..."Hackchecker". I sent it right to Gaia itself. And I checked later and that account had been frozen.
