Hiya all
So I am creating a novel on Ancient Egypt. The names so far have been easy to find as the earlier part of the story is more focused on the royal life. I have used names such as Tuthmosis, Amenhotep, Rameses, Nafretiri and Hepsiti.
But soon I will need to find some common names. My book on how to read Hieroglyphs gives alot of names but they are not genderised so I have no idea if it is a male or female name, like Ameny.
If you could help me by giving me some names (and saying if they are male or female, lol) then that would be much appreciated ^_^
------------------------------------------
And as a side note, if you know anybody who suffered from malaria then could you find out how they felt. It's not so much the symptons as I collected that information off the BBC health site but I need personal experiences as it is hard to write about it without much understanding. Thank you again!

Hmmm, when I was a pupil I used to play the game "Pharaoh", do you know that? It's a strategy game where you build egyptian cities and monuments and manage them. I am telling you this, cause you could click on every of the little people running around in the streets and all of them had a name. So there should be a list of all the names in the game, genderised, as far as I remember. The game is not installed on my notebook and I'm not at home now, but maybe someone's got it too or the list of the names is in the internet.

Hm, I just found a list with egypt names, but it is german. "Weibliche" means female, "männliche" male names.

And the link is all in German, I can't stand any of it sad

tjara Well, I thought you could understand the names, they are blue written. I would like to yes. I'll try and have another read through. I can sort of understand the meaning of the names by cutting the names up.
