Right now I am bored, brain dead, and yet feel like I have to write/type something. crying I personally think I going through a moment of insanity, but I thought I would seek out the opinions of others. So, am I strange and insane, or just my usual odd self?

I go through that a ton of the time. Usually, when you try to write when you're like that, nothing comes to you. It's quite frustrating. Just bear with it. Try writing.

I've had that happen too.
Usually during homework, but often when I'm trying to write a story. Nothing gets done though. It's like, "I have no inspiration, no idea, but argh, I really want to make words come out of this stupid keyboard!"
Helpful? I think not.

Well if you need something to write about, I have a writing exercise that I practice sometimes when I feel the need to do something creative.
Step I : Have someone write a sentence, a completely random sentence. Step II : Begin to write a story from that sentence.
For example: Sentence- There was darkness.. and it seemed only that. And then you write a story from there.
It works for me at least. And yes-- it happens to myself as well. Don't worry, you're not the only one. :3

Hmm...I'll have to remember that, Wingless. As for it being common, well I'm glad to know that I'm not completely nuts. sweatdrop

I seem to have the habit of starting out a story, then getting to the point where I don't like it anymore and abandoning it. I also seem to have the habit of getting inspiration for said stories at the wee hours of the morning, or other awkward times.
Like at 2-ish this morning. Inspiration struck. And kept me awake. ...My muse has a sick sense of humor.

I have loads of things I've started, and yet...never finished. -_-
Haha, 2 am seems to be a common time of being up and thinking. I do that all the time and end up with about 2 hrs. of sleep before heading off to school later on. >_< I really need to stop that....

Um. VIDEO GAMES! YEAH! Helps the reflexes. In your thumbs at least. Then your fingers will be like LIGHTNING! WHA-CHAO! [<<O:

Video games...heh...lately I've been rotting my brain on playing FFXII. sweatdrop
Though, shockingly, I don't watch much t.v.... Funny for a seventeen-year-old to say.... whee
However, playing that game can only hold my attention for so long each day. *sigh* And right now I feel like writing again, but have no outlet for my non-braindeadedness.... Heh...I made up a word...oh well.
