hello,i have resently noticed that when i hear or see or read anything to do with love my chest aches,after i confessed my love for my guyfriend,and he doesnt like me back,is that what they call heart breack?does it acually physicly hurt you or am i just weird?

I have had my heart broken by my male friend who till this day I believe is in denial but that's a whole different story. I believe that "heart break" does affect you mentally which therefore effects you physically. Kinda like when you experience something terrifying you are afraid to go back, like if you had a bad experience on a roller coaster you would most likely be afraid to get on another again. So after someone has experience heart break and they hear things that have to do with love it hurts them because they couldn't experience love with someone they loved. I should know!

.....Yeah. It really does. When My parents didn't accept my homosexuality, that was my worst heartbreak of all. I really did want to kill myself after they didn't accept me. sad That awful pain that will never heal. I'm so glad I have friends who love me. I love them all so. crying

It isn't exactly a sharp throbbing pain or stinging, but it is defintely a physical pain. Sometimes you can't exactly identify it....
I don't have any juicy forbidden stories to share, but I fell in love with a gay guy. Now I understand how those girls in yaoi stories feel, I really feel great sympathy for them.

Yes, it is real. If I can feel it everyday to the point of which I feel like I can't (or don't want to) Move, then it is a physical pain(and mental). It really is very painfull, and i'm not sure how to fix it. I think the best way would probably be to love again and be loved back(which is easy to say..) there is a saying, "the best way to mend a broken heart is by loving again" or somthing like that..

i feel in love with my best friend (she's a girl and i'm a lesbian) i told her she freaked and now..... i know it hurts lke a deep throbbing inside your body. yes its a physical pain and belive me it hurts more than any kknife...
every tmie i look at her i feel that pain and it never goes away it will always hurt... neutral ninja cry ninja burning_eyes

I've been hurt by.. four people. In the past like, six years, i guess. Whenever I think about them my chest hurts. And whenever I RP and my little uke experiences heartbreak, my chest hurts too. So, I think heart break can actually hurt you, and that's why they associate the heart with love, because that's where you feel the pain.

ya i just confessed my feeling to one of my girlfriends and now we are going out!! so thats good
but i have been heart broken before and i do feel a sort of pain in my chest and my heart feels heavy and everything...it sucks

I did it once... I almost cried when he rejected me.... he even laughed at me because, his words not mine, I'm just stupid.. he (i think) broke my heart.. I think.. it's repairable
i know it's just puppy love now but I think I stopped being a sensitive good best friend advisor because of him.. Now I'm totally oblivious most of the time... I still give almost.. I think... good advises...
p.s: is it just me or I've put a lot of 'I think' here

Yea... I know what you mean. It's an odd feeling. Not sure I'd call it pain, personally... but it's a discomfort that's not nice to feel at all... it's really strange.
No wonder the heart was thought to be the emotional device of the body for so long a time.

Ahh heart break sucks. I went through that and everywhere i went it hurt to look at anything that reminded me of the person i loved. I didnt sleep or eat it accually affected me more physically than mentally. so yeah heartbreak hurts it all...

when i found out that the guy i was with was using me to get to my friend, my chest hurt and it felt hard to breath, i felt numb for hours and for weeks i just hurt, emotionaly and physically
